When I sat in the ER after a particularly intense panic/anxiety attack that they wanted to make sure wasn't anything more serious, this song was a huge comfort. He was with me. I know I should be glad it wasn't anything deadlier, but the fear and the loneliness in those moments was real.
I understand that feeling, like David wrote, "my tears are my food day and night." But the same man wrote, "You turn my mourning into dancing." I hope you're doing better now, God bless you

Thank you for sharing this. I too went through something similar last year. I thought I was having a heart attack and immediately went to ER. I thought I was ding. It ended up being a panic attack. Your right it’s very isolating and hard to to describe the fear of death that comes along with it. I was prescribed medication but I having chosen to go without and receive counseling from my God. I still deal with it in small doses but God has delivered me and still with me holding me and healing me. God Bless ❤

On my way to work and after listening to the first song I switched over to my Spotify and downloaded this album to my Christian Rock playlist, what a blessing to be able to drive to PDX and back listening to this very courageous group, that keeps such a strong faith in a time when the world needs this message that we keep receiving from them !! This song is one of the songs i would sing to my beautiful fur daughter when i had to bring her to the vet for all her visits after she was diagnosed with kidney disease and possible kidney cancer, it was one of the songs that soothed her as she hated car rides, i lost her august 10,2023 and i miss her every day

This song reminds me of my dark 7 years of alcoholism. I have damaged family and a marriage that I'm continuing to try and fix. Today I've been sober for 3 1/2 years.
Hard to believe I was one second from eating a bullet until a family member stopped me from doing it. Even when you get sober the hard part is only just beginning. It's to get through life's struggles without alcohol. Which is very hard sometimes.
I deal with chronic back pain and fibromyalgia now. It's very crippling. Not knowing what tomorrow brings but I keep saying to myself 'there is some purpose for me in this world' I just don't know it yet. It has not been revealed to me yet.
You guys get me through the day. That there is a light at the end of the long dark tunnel. I still don't remember those 7 years I've lost. But it will reveal to me when I'm ready.

This song (and the whole album) has some of the best lyrics Skillet has ever put out. You can tell they took their time with figuring out what they wanted to say and how to say it. Lyrically nothing sounds like a copy and paste from previous albums. Sound wise the whole album pretty much has every style of skillets career, rock,metal, industrial, contemporary Christian ballads, it’s all there! Best Skillet record ever!
This and "White Horse" got the best lyrics of the whole album. "White Horse" is like an epic war between good and evil, and "Valley of Death" 's lyrics are 'Ashes Remain' level.
