These two really are platonic soulmates huh
I want to have a "that friend", if this is what that is
It's more of "the friend".
"And though we huffed and puffed the whole way home, I'm really glad we didn't have to carry it alone." That line killed me. Ugh LOVE IT I LOVE IT.

it’s dodie we’re talking about. that’s how they know.
"You haven't let me down, not once. Not even when you thought you did" really got me. I feel like that's such an immense kindness that everyone needs to feel at some time in their life.

Or through our open doors
In fact,

And even though you might sometimes feel positive that something's got to give,
I just don't know how I would ever live without a (idk what word goes here. goblin?) in my life
And do not fret about the cheese you left out on the side
And know there is no part of you you ever have to hide from me.
I've seen your heartache and misery.
I've held you as you cried.
And my chest swelled with pride to see you standing on a stage.
Channeling your rage into tales,
Of monsters and madness and soulmates.
You open up the floodgates,
And your heart pours forth.
And I see your worth.
I know it, even when you don't.
And I'll remind you every time you forget who you are.
Because the parts of you that you'd sooner discard
Are the parts of you that make you pick up your guitar,
And sing so sweetly.
And where would we be if we could't at least turn this mad life into art?
Finally, an apology.
For making you walk _so_ far with me today.

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Dodie at Playlist Live a few years ago. I was soooooo nervous and when she asked me what my favorite song of hers was I blurted out something like " don't make me choose...." we took a selfie and I cried the rest of the day.
