The major event of Isra Miraj is an important and historic event for Muslims. Rasulullah SAW traveled from the Grand Mosque to the Al Aqsa Mosque and was then taken to the 7th heaven to be shown some of the greatness of Allah.
From the Isra Miraj incident, the order was also sent down to carry out the 5 daily prayers to be performed by the Prophet Muhammad SAW and all his people.
The Isra Miraj event is stated in the Al-Qur'an Surah Al Isra verse 1:
Meaning: "Glory be to Allah, who led His servant one night from the Grand Mosque to the Al Aqsa Mosque which We have blessed around it so that We might show him some of Our signs (greatness). Indeed, He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing."
Isra Miraj occurred on 27 Rajab in the 11th year of the Prophet's prophethood, at which time the Prophet was 51 years old. Or if in the Gregorian calendar, it occurred in 621. However, when Isra Miraj occurred, there are still a number of opinions from scholars.
Meanwhile, many scholars say that the Isra Miraj event was a consolation from Allah SWT for the Prophet. Because in that year, Rasulullah lost two people he loved very much, namely his wife Khadijah and his uncle Abu Talib. That year was also later called 'amul huzn (Year of Sorrow).
