Recently dug into my 1980-1998 cards I had long forgot about and I have ALOT. Basketball mostly, and baseball, football, and even some hockey. I have TONS of early Jordans including his Rookie and pretty much EVERY rookie from the early 90's and multiples of each. Many have been in boxes since being removed from their original packs so STILL in amazing condition.
I remember those times that MJ cards were really expensive and rare. But if you have Grant Hill and Penny Hardaway it's not just rare but it also has wow factor.
Love the Videos man !!! i watch from beginning till end... Been collecting since i was 8 years old and just starting to get back in the hobby...Great Videos
Love the videos!!! I have been out of the Hobby for many years and have recently gotten back into the Hobby about a year ago and have been buying up cards and opening boxes, etc...and now I'm wanting to try my hand at Grading with both PSA and BGS. One thing I was confused about: When filling out either the PSA Submission Form or the BGS Submission Form, for the "Declared Value"...what exactly is that? Is that the RAW card value...or what I think the final Graded value will be worth? Meaning for example, I have seen the 1989 Upper Deck Griffey Jr.'s in RAW form sell on Ebay for like only $35, but yet that same card in a BGS 10 "Pristine" slab (the Gold label, not the Black label) sells for over $4,000 on Ebay. So for instance, if I were to send in some of this card...which value would I write down for the Declared Value? What it sells for in RAW form or what I think it might be worth after grading. I've asked many other Graders and local Card Shops this same question and I've heard mixed answers on this and just wasn't sure? Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! Max declared value isn’t an exact science. All it is is insurance coverage. PSA says to do your best at determining the value of the card in the condition you think it is in. If you thinks it’s a psa 10 then put that value down. A lot of collectors max the value out at $99 on order to submit cards in bulk submissions at the $10 card discount which is fine. But, you will only get $99 if that card is lost, stolen or damaged which I have yet to hear happen. So don’t submit a 1952 Topps MICKEY mantle with a $99 max declared value. Or a 2000 Playoff Contenders Tom Brady rookie ticket auto. PSA will determine the value is wel above $99 and simply email you and tell you your options to go from there. I would t worry too much about it unless you’re submitting cards that are obviously worth $1,000 plus ungraded and in raw condition
Hi Matt. Be back after the vid. I was collecting in this era. Man, the number one card on this list is completely insane. Would definitely love to have one of those. I think you went and did it Matt, now I'm going to have to dig out all my old basketball cards from the mid-90s. I got a feeling it's going to be worth it.
Seen someone else request Anfernee Hardaway that would be a good one this one was great appreciate how you have such a different variety of players and eras of playing keep it up buddy
Hey, Matt. I don't think I have any Grant Hill cards left. I traded a bunch of them for old hockey cards. I don't have those now, either. Bummer. I'm pretty sure I had a couple Hill cards on this list. Have a good one, Matt.
I am surprised the 1994-95 Skybox Revolution Insert hasn't sold for big money in a psa 10. This was a chase card between me and a friend growing up, he pulled it, i ended up trading him a bunch of jordan inserts for it (very bad trade today) lol. Anyways, they were 1:72 packs to pull and a 10 card set. The printing error were rampant as well. I think i have a perfect latrell spreewell from the set, but the others all have printing errors (i think it was a multi layer print and the layers are off centered from each other). This card, the 1st day issue stadium club, the gold upper deck se, the gold signature collectors choice, these are all rare condition sensitive rookie cards. The skybox gold embosed was a case hit, so it is relatively rare. Also extremely condition sensitive.
I wonder how many 1994 classic 4 sport Grant Hill John Wooden error cards with gold leaf stamped Mark Johnson are in population, I have 2 and have never seen any more
How about his 94-95 Flair Wave of the Future Gold Grant Hill RC. It's a nice thicker point card hard to find. Also his 95-96 Fleer Ultra Jam City or Board Game. Those are nice and Rare too!!
I liked and left a comment on all of your videos. I may have missed one or two though? Most of the time I watch these on my television while I sort my cards which is why I havent liked or commented in the past. It would be inconsiderate of me not to shoot you some comments and thumbs up on all your videos based on the joy I get out of them. Please keep the great v vids coming!
There's a Nolan Ryan collection 12 card set from 94 by Guyana. You might want to check out that set. I have 2 unopened sets I saw one of the cards sell on Ebay or Etsey $ 250 raw.
can you do a video on the top 10 or so hobby box's that you get the most bang for your buck. in the like $20-$50 range. i dont have $200 to spend on cards lol. wish i did tho.
Hey man, i really hope you see this. Do you have any thoughts on investing in UFC cards. the sport is only going to continue to grow and the fighters that are stars now are going to be the most valuable legends in 20-30 years, since these cards really just started getting made. There are no 1990 UFC cards lol. So i figure by 2040, the 2015-2020 UFC cards will be super valuable because they will be the oldest cards. Your thoughts?
Honestly, I don't see the value of UFC cards going up too much. They definitely won't beat out baseball, basketball or football. I just don't think UFC fans are big into collecting cards as much as football, baseball and basketball fans. Wrestling cards came out in the 80's and 90's and did a big belly flop. I can be wrong though, I can't see the future.
@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR Thanks for your response. your opinion on collecting is a lot more educated then mine, that's for sure. your videos are awesome, keep up the great work!!
i just bought and got 1996 topps chromes shareef abdur-rahim rookie card refractors #128 mint 9 funny thing is that same day yesterday i got his rookie card in mail, then 2k put in game in my team and i got him, image that lol
Yeah, his rookie card came out right at the end of the junk wax era so they're not very valuable for the most part. There are some good ones to get though which are all on this list.
I like your show but why all your shows about high end cards or expensive cards that are not available to many people???? I have many basic sets of all sports from 1989 - till2000but no mention!? Are you only for rich and famouse??
Sorry, but I cannot respect this list when you left off one of the most iconic Grant Hill rookie cards of all time. 1994-95 Skybox Gold Grant Hill card #GHO. That card was one of the most expensive Hill rc's back in the day. One of the coolest looking, and impossible to find them not scratched up.
@@GRADEDCARDINVESTOR Actually I forgot that the whole point of the video was which are the most valuable. lol. I'm surprised the gold Grant Hill has rebounded in popularity/price. Maybe just a lot of collectors today aren't aware that it existed. I try to buy as many of them as I can when I see them cheap. It's tough to judge the condition from ebay pics. Then even if I find one in great condition....I end up getting a white letter enveloper that gets destroyed in the mail.
I've been having a lot of fun binge watching your channel while sorting through old cards.keep it up man.
That's Awesome! I'm glad you enjoy the videos and find them useful. Thanks for the feedback 👍

I have some 1996 topps chrome cards. Mint. But not sure how to tell it’s definitely a refractor? Looks shiny? Are the numbers on back different?

As a collector myself, I would love to see Anfernee Hardaway and Kevin Garnett. These two players always sell surprisingly well.
Can't believe i missed this video. Those die cut ✂ s are really neat. Always wanted to get my hands on those!
I got number 9 on your list. Found it in a box from a auction. It was in a plastic case.
What do you suggest?

I am sitting on a bunch of Grant Hill rookie cards. I actually have one of the cards on your list. I am looking to sell them. Any ideas?
Great job mate! Cool to see some raw cards got in the mix. Keep up the hard work. 👍
Yeah, I couldn't leave the PMG's out and I couldn't find them in the PSA case. Had to go with the Raw 👍
How do you find the value and sell cards? I have a few of these and others that may be worth something.

Nice choice! Grant Hill. Wish he would have stayed healthy. Great video, Matt.
Yeah, he was having a killer career. I don't think he won 1 championship either.. He was definitely hot at the time.
Liking before even watching...Grant Hill, baby!
Can't go wrong with some Grant Hill inserts from the 90's, dude was on fire!
I have several of these. The 93-94 Refractor no coating.. Love it
Awesome!
