Eddie is a genius. Difficult to express how much his comic talent has meant to me through my life and been with me through bad times and good. Dress to kill is my all time favourite show by him!
In less than 2 years 4 of my animals died of old age. I brought out my copy of Dress To Kill each time. Bringing me laughter I other wise would not have had. Thank you Mr. Izzard.
I lost my father in February. I remember when I was probably 12 or 13, we watched the premier on TV, and we both laughed and laughed for the entire time. I love going back and watching this and laughing, reminds me of when I was a kid with my dad.
Oh god I'm so sorry. Losing your animal family is gut wrenching, but to lose so many so close together, that's brutal. I have four around the same age and par to me dreads the same thing. My heart goes out to you, I feel like it's so much harder to reconcile the grief for my animal family than my human family, mostly.
THIS IS MY MOST VERY FAVORITE OF ALL COMEDIANS. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT EDDIE IZZARD. I LOVE YOU EDDIE. YOU'RE JUST AWESOME. PERIOD. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. :=)
I think there was a place in the US state of Illinois called Collinsville (near St Louis) where the Native Americans built what is referred to as the Cahokia Woodhenge. You can see it in Wikipedia.
Me: Oh, Eddie, WHY did you give up the makeup and ladies clothing? Bring it back. Eddie: It was never ladies clothing, you know. I bought it myself, I didn't steal it from my sister's closet.
I was watching 'The Wild' and my English flatmate walked in and said, 'That's Eddy Izzard!' When she heard the koala speak. I'm a fan now! Thanks for posting, he brilliant!
Meanwhile, all the Irish pagans are standing next to their (already built) rock-mound with inscribed decorations and a watertight roof, saying 'Dem English are feckin' cowboy eejits.'
There WAS a Woodhenge, but it's "gone" now. In fact there were TWO within 2 miles of Stonehenge. They date from around 2200 BCE, and probably lasted less than 500 years. The site of the first was discovered in 1925. The second site was discovered over 40 years later, less than 100 yards away, in 1966. That one was less obvious because it was an example of the more fragile Stramineizzardus Circulae, commonly known as a "strawhenge". But don't listen to me. It's Professor Izzard's class.
This is actual comedic talent. Being able to make people laugh themselves silly without actually offending anyone. Eddie was and still is an extremely successful comedian who's never had to deal with cancel culture because he doesn't have to rely on offending people to make other people laugh.
To be fair, absolutely nothing wrong with offending people. It is amazing how quirky his style of humor is. Just solid delivery and historical humor is his domain.
IDK if you have heard, but canceling a transvestite is transphobic. Don't agree? Me either, but there are enough people who do that it doesn't really matter.
I love how many complete losers showed up to Um Actually you about this, 'cause they couldn't let it slide without trying to make excuses for themselves.
And other measurements as well! It's not far is it?....I wish the Christians would hurry up & get here!!! (I absolutely love him! Eddie you are the Best!!!)
Fun Fact! Stonehenge predate druids by a couple of thousand years. It has nothing what so ever to do with druids and never did...until the 1950s or something.
"Before stone henge there was wood henge and straw henge." You don' t want to build it in an area that is "dadada lup lup doo di doo di da dada bippa dibp....." there you build Trump Tower. Fucking hell this guy was ahead of the game.
While Izzard doesn't crack the top 5 stand up comedians of all time (Fox, Pryor, Carlin, Rock & Chappelle) for me this special belongs in the top 5 specials of all time.
I had the same reaction when I heard that bit. When you know a whole lot of trivia about random shit you spend about thirty percent of watching comedy going "Now hang on..."
Eddie wears what he wants. It's nothing to do with ratings.Eddie has been really famous and well respected in the UK for more than ten years. And we couldn't give a shite what he wears.
That one really did sound like the Monty Python stuff! Didn't realise the similarities in humor before. But that's a good thing, I always LOVED Monty Python (and I mean it! I saw "life of brian" 20times or so in the early 90s ;-)
We had not told him where we were going, when he said this he was fed up being in the car for so long, I would not drive that far to see it again. OK it is amazing how the stones got there but I am more impressed with Castles like Warwick over Stonehenge.
Im near stone henge and I thought theres woodhenge aswell but you can go and stand on it and there like 1000s of years old. Theres lots ancient places round here come to think of it.

This is my all time favourite eddy izzard performance. Genius.
One of my favorite bits of his. His humor is subtle and inteligent.
"200 miles in this day and age, I don't even know where I live anymore!"

I'll just live here shall I..?
I like it when he does the Welsh accent

Yes, I love that part too
HAPPY HOLIDAYS. PEACE, LOVE, AND HAVE FUN. MY PRAYER IS THAT THIS YEAR IS BETTER THAN LAST YEAR.
Bobbi Ysmael Pray for another Caps Lock button...
boy oh boy were you wrong bobbi
I love his little Welsh accent for the stonemasons as well.
"Before Stonehenge, there was Woodhenge and Strawhenge."
Awesome clip!
There is (was) actually a Woodhenge, not far from Stonehenge. I went there once, many years ago. It's rubbish, don't bother.
There's no Strawhedge though.
I've also been to Woodhedge. I used to live in Salisbury.

@@paulfletcher3998 There might have been, can't imagine it would last more than a season with British weather!
Could you explain the humour in this?
Eddie’s comedy is timeless
As many times as I’ve watched this…and all the others…it still cracks me up.
Should come to Nebraska and see Carhenge. 😉
I think one of the greatest most intelligent hours of comedy stand up you will ever hear.
Try an hour of real comedy - Bernard Manning or Micky Flannigan.
Best comedy show of all times in my book!! Peace Eddy!!

There really was a woodhenge, down the river, where the people used to meet yearly before celebrating at Stonehenge.

There you build Trump Tower hahaha..
+Jette pet Ironic all these years later, Trump may well be in the top of the tower(whitehouse)
You know, I've been to Trump Tower various times over the years, and only recently have I noticed the name and connected the dots about who owned it.
+Breen Whitman ok fuck the tower then, if Trump is in it, blow it up.
I guess no one ever told you that making a death threat against the president is a crime. Yes, even if you " didn't mean it ".

Woodhenge is actually half a mile down the road to Stonehenge. Never as busy though.
It sounds like you're making a joke, but I've been there!

Fun Fact! Stonehenge predate druids by a couple of thousand years. It has nothing what so ever to do with druids and never did...until the 1950s or something.
About 750CE, the word Druid starts popping up. I'm pretty sure, the job existed beforehand, but HR just changed the job-title.
Strange idea of fun lieber Hans
But, as Nigel Tufnel said “nobody knows who they were… or what they were doing “
