how did you learn to arrange like that?

My method is simple. I read off the original score and try to include as much of the information as I can moving octaves around to fit the limited range of the guitar. Original is in C minor which isn’t a great key for guitar, so I move it down a half step to B minor and transpose as I very slowly read through section by section and keep refining until it resembles the original more and more. I have been doing these sorts of arrangements in my spare time ever since I was a kid. My first project was the 2nd movement from this same Sonata. A few years back I did the 3rd and even though I have been told 100 times that this piece is impossible for guitar I have persisted. I’m also nearly finished building a guitar for myself that I hope will bring this immortal composition to life as a guitar work.

@@JasonMcGuireElRubio I really appreciate what you are doing man. This legendary composition deserves a guitar arrangement and its a wonderful way to showcase the capabilities of our beautiful instrument. Im an amateur guitar player and play mostly classical. Guitar really lack transcriptions of great composers like Beethoven, mozart. We have some Schubert ones by Mertz thankfully. I'm looking forward to the end product, cant wait to hear it on the special guitar! Also do you write as you transcribe or fully memorize it?
