What you say Simeon, Unify is a very useful platform for plugins. Ambient Dreams is a great library to use on that platform. I make al my pads en ambients with Unify because it's so versatile and endless tweakable. Love it!

Grey Wolf, yes, this is a library created for Unify. Unify in itself has its own sampler along with so many other patches, instruments, effects that make it an amazing tool for your existing VST instruments as well as expansion libraries like this one.

Hey Simon, I share your enthusiasm for this library. I bought it already, I just have to install it now. Soon. I'm going through the UNIFY video tutorials first. ► QUESTION: how is the CPU usage with this library? I'm on Windows 10, laptop with 32 GB of RAM. If I use Kontakt and Omnisphere together and use the sustain pedal a lot (which I do), the laptop chokes. I did optimize it as best I can, but it's not exactly practical when you play live (church setting) and you get silenced for a few seconds. Cheers! ☺
Andre, depending on the processor in your laptop your mileage may vary, especially when it comes to using Omnisphere along with Kontakt. With Ambient Dreams there are some patches that use upwards of 10 Unify layers and some of those are actual Unify instances in themselves, so like going down an Inception style route. You have to be mindful of how hard you can push your system and then find patches that can work in that space. There are some Kontakt libraries that by themselves hammer my i9 9900k, so the struggle is real. When you factor in a LIVE element it takes it to another level entirely so again you have to prioritize to get the sounds that will serve you the best. There is a crazy idea floating around my head that is like if you did have a very complex sound with multiple layers and such, to sample that layer using Sample Robot or SampeIt to create an ad hock instrument, but more on that later 😎 Remind me to share my Easter Sunday 2023 experience using my 2023 MacBook Pro 😂😂😂

Thanks for the review. I looked at Unify a few years ago but never got into it. There's so many options these days for sounds, that it actually hinders writing music. Kontakt, Omnisphere, Soundpaint, UVI Falcon, Unify, etc.
Would love to purchase this and Unity. Unfortunately, I've swapped over to windows recently from mac (for work reason) and it looks as though Unity is a mac only software. Would love to see it come to windows at some point in the future also.

Hello Lawerence. Yes, you first need to own UNIFY as that is the platform these expansions use. Currently it is $79. It comes with a large amount of presets and effects out of the box to get you started. Ambient Dreams is an expansion library and is currently on the introductory price of $49 until May 7th. Unify works not only with Omnisphere but virtually ALL of your existing VSTs. As a matter of fact there are several Omnisphere specific libraries for Unify. That is what makes UNIFY so useful in that it is modular and integrates your instruments in such a way to introduce new was of using them.
As Simeon said, Unify has become a platform. It has been an increasingly more powerful tool for about 3 years now, and I don't believe there is anything quite like it. And it was a good bargain even before all the free upgrades. It depends on how you make music, but for me Unify is not just an "engine" that adds to the cost of the library. The Amazing Dreams library is a great addition to an already powerful platform.
