I guess that's fair, it does kind of make Joji himself seem more shallow. But the song itself and the people who wrote it certainly aren't shallow and they deserve a ton of credit, especially Riley McDonough who both wrote and composed the original song with the help of Connor McDonough, Castle, and Alexis Kesselman TWO YEARS before Joji heard it. Here's a really touching statement from him about his personal connection to this song: June 10th. Two of the most pivotal moments of my life have happened on this date. June 10, 2016. - we lost a very dear friend, Christina Grimmie. I never could have prepared for the effects this night would have on my life. Being that the tragedy of losing Christina happened at our own show near where I grew up, this was very close to home both literally and figuratively. It took years of strong friendships and rebuilding to feel like a functioning human again, but it is something that will live with me forever. There were many different waves of real depression unlike I had ever known before that night. In times of sadness, my way of healing has always been writing songs. June 14, 2019 - a few days after the 3 year anniversary of losing Christina, I was really struggling at this time and life just didn't make sense. On this day, there's a voice memo I made of a song calling out to God where I asked "If I could only catch a glimpse of you". 6 months later, Dec 16, 2019 - I had a last minute writing session on a rainy Sunday with @connormcdonough, @i_am_castle_, and @idarosemusic. Many times in sessions I will just scroll the titles of my voice memos to see if anything jumps out. This day I saw the voice memo labeled 'Glimpse' and said "I love the word glimpse for something" and an entirely new idea was born. The song 'Glimpse of Us' was created that day. It wasn't until two years later, Joji heard the song and after some changes, the final version was made. June 10, 2022 'Glimpse of Us' was released to the world and went on to become the most successful song of our career as well as our first extremely notable work as songwriters. It wasn't until recently that I remembered what was said in that initial voice memo those years ago. Calling out for some bit of a sign. I now see that what I got back was tenfold to what I could have ever imagined. I write this to say that you never truly know the beauty that is constantly forming from the pain. Our hurt is never wasted. This is why I will forever pour my heart into everything I ever make. Sending only love. Thank you for listening.

Joji has some vocal "help" during the concerts. it impossible to sing it like him without some kind of digital help. He sings it really silent and turns the microphone volume up. In this way, the result is really cool. Maybe I am wrong, but from what i`m hearing ...
Its kind of sad to me that joji didnt actually write a single song his last album and the one before that very minimal work he actually did. Though at the same time, its still great music and maybe thats what george wanted all along, to just perform good music regardless if it came from him or not.
Charlie puth wouldn't make it as big as joji. The style, the way he make music is completely different to joji. When it come to making sad and chill song, nobody can compete with joji
I'm very baffled because the show biz people seem to give songs to artists just like that, but all I was taught is show biz people steal songs from artists and, also, you have to give your soul to the devil in order to get promoted and I don't picture either one of these artists doing weird masonic rituals, so I'm genuinely baffled.
Charlie Puth is successful enough plus he is rather an average singer with a voice that you don't always recognize. Sorry but I'm glad that Joji got to sing it. And I don't care that he didn't produce it, he gave life to the song and made it sound that unique. Charlie Puth it good for average Pop songs but that's it. He shouldn't overrestimate himself.
And I'm sure there are plenty of Charlie Puth's songs that Joji could've done that you would've listened to, and there are plenty of Joji songs that Charlie Puth could've done that you wouldn't have ever listened to. This isn't the flex that you think it is, this is called having an opinion. 🤷🏻♂

I dislike Glimpse of Us because it's not the Joji that i know and I listen
it's like it is sad song and sounds like one but like the mainstream kind of sad, sounds like a song that would be liked by teens on tiktok in which it did blew up in tiktok
It's sounds a sad song that i Joji wouldn't really sing
he was too busy telling us that audio can be selective in the ear phone with left and right stereo. thanks charlie!
Wait who sent him the song
Its strange how some produced songs are more like a product than a song written by a musician
Now I need an AI version of Charlie singing Glimpse of us😂
what a guy, still give props to others. what a true success
Now for some reason I want a Charlie Puth rendition now.
My bro wrote this 🔥🥹
Joji has some vocal "help" during the concerts. it impossible to sing it like him without some kind of digital help. He sings it really silent and turns the microphone volume up. In this way, the result is really cool. Maybe I am wrong, but from what i`m hearing ...
Never forget Frank
How tf did george go from talking about balls to singing about missing that someone special.
The music video for glimpse of us also made it something special
joji didnt write that AND it was meant for puth 😞
Im so glad charlie puth didn't do this. It would not have been as heart wrenching and raw
Its kind of sad to me that joji didnt actually write a single song his last album and the one before that very minimal work he actually did. Though at the same time, its still great music and maybe thats what george wanted all along, to just perform good music regardless if it came from him or not.
Thanks for passing on it, that song was indirectly written for Joji.
he doesn't say anything even remotely close to "it's great but..."
Charlie puth wouldn't make it as big as joji. The style, the way he make music is completely different to joji. When it come to making sad and chill song, nobody can compete with joji
I'm very baffled because the show biz people seem to give songs to artists just like that, but all I was taught is show biz people steal songs from artists and, also, you have to give your soul to the devil in order to get promoted and I don't picture either one of these artists doing weird masonic rituals, so I'm genuinely baffled.
i love charlie but nobody can sing it like my boy george💗
honestly is kind of weird that he said that when the lyrics in glimpse of us reffers to a joji´s friend that passed away cause of depression
Why did I think this was Patrick Mahomes at first glance of the thumbnail lmao
Wait, I thought artists were involved in creating their songs… they just get a completed song and sign up if they like it or something?
Both
Like a puppet
It’s one of the most beautiful songs of its decade
I’m always surprised when people are surprised that artists don’t write all of their own music. I always thought that was common knowledge
Had no idea it was a "pop song" floating around the ether 😆 Joji definitely owned that version
Started singing some sad songs because pinkguy can't get any poosi 😢
His playlist is called, regret
Sounds like there’s some remix potential
it's cool to see him admit that Joji did better than he would've, that's real respect
Now i kinda wanna hear Charlie version of the song
Artist who write for themselves 🔥
Joji matches it a lot better for sure
Im a fan of both
Charlie Puth is successful enough plus he is rather an average singer with a voice that you don't always recognize. Sorry but I'm glad that Joji got to sing it. And I don't care that he didn't produce it, he gave life to the song and made it sound that unique. Charlie Puth it good for average Pop songs but that's it. He shouldn't overrestimate himself.
"They sent the song for me originally" Who is THEY?? MAGICAL MUSIC ALIENS?
Composer and writer bruh lmao. Not all Singer wrote their own songs bruh
Wouldn’t have listened to it if Charlie made it, Joji just did it way better than Charlie ever could’ve. 🤷🏻♂️
And I'm sure there are plenty of Charlie Puth's songs that Joji could've done that you would've listened to, and there are plenty of Joji songs that Charlie Puth could've done that you wouldn't have ever listened to.
This isn't the flex that you think it is, this is called having an opinion. 🤷🏻♂
