Since Google changed the management panel for the Google business profile and incorporated it with the search interface (not a great idea of you ask me) things are all over the place. Hello. I have just been interested in Google Business Listing of late and I had to rewatch this tutorial! I noticed that after my Google Business Profile listing, this dashboard that we are redirected to seems to be different from other ones I see on UA-cam tutorials where it shows a more elaborate dashboard and owner can perform more operations(eg adding users etc-if you really get my point). Please as the Goole Busness Listing dashboard changed?

Love your content Luc - so much value! Question, is it possible to manage multiple businesses GMB profiles? i.e. I want to setup an agency in my country of origin, where I manage and optimise GMB profiles for businesses.
I have spoken to Luc in the past, he is incredibly easy to talk with and a wealth of knowledge. He does not give you a cookiecutter response, he listens, analyzes, and is genuinely interested in helping your business in the best way he can. It is pretty obvious with the quality of his videos the dedication he has to helping others to succeed.
You should do one on changing your business info. For those out there that had a home based business, stopped operating but never disabled their google my business account, and then started a new business from their home that is very different from their prior business. Say lawn care to home cleaning. Can you just change up your business info?

The name alone won’t stop you from showing. If these are two different business entities with different addresses and phone numbers it won’t be a problem

Regarding company name - we have a search term ("Pool Services") in our business name and had used it in advertisements and even legally own the name in our state of operation. We got our account suspended so we changed our name to use just the term "Pools" and were reinstated. Is there a way to verify this was the change that got us reinstated? Being a local service provider GMB is critical to our business and we don't want to risk another suspension but would be great to have the search term in our name! Any tips/suggestions on this?
Hard to tell but if that's the only thing you changed It be possible this was the reason you were suspended in the first place. If you legally own the name and have the paperwork for it then make sure you rebrand your marketing material accordingly, that your business citations also include the name, if you run a brick and mortar business make sure outside signage is present and include the term too, then you should be able to use it on your google business profile

Hello Luc, i am having a problem where a competitor or other meddler is going to google maps and marking my business as closed on suggest an edit. i have a few questions: first, how do i get my listing live again? 2nd, what does it take to make sure the listing cannot be marked as closed again in the future? experimenting i went to another one of my listings on maps as an anonymous user and closed that listing on suggest an edit the same way. the listing vanished within 10 minutes! i went back to maps to *add a missing place on suggest an edit and still haven't seen them reappear. any help is greatly appreciated and I'm willing to pay you to speak on the phone about it if we can. thank you
Hi Carl Unfortunately you can't prevent edits to a business profile. Google encourages updates and contributions to listings. The only way to combat this is to keep an eye on your listing daily to reject the edits and hope that the owner of the account s who does that gets flagged and any businesses that they are connected to get suspended. Alternatively you can use the legal route and take legal action against an unknown party.
@@rankingacademy it is wildly unfair. when the edit is suggested the business profile is taken down within minutes. im not getting notifications when the edit is suggested and i figured out how to *add a missing place but it takes a week or more to be re added. what steps do i have to take to get notifications and refuse the suggested edit? the listing is verified already too
If you are doing this for service based business clients how would you suggest going about starting out in terms of setting up a gmail address to do this? ...if you do it through your own gmail address should you have a separate gmail address for all businesses? My thought was to set it up for them and then transfer ownership to them and have them add you on as manager.
I usually create a gmail account for the business and set myself up as a manager. If the client no longer wants to work with me I can give him the details of the account and remove myself from it so he remains the owner of the listing

Bonjour Manu. Il est litteralement impossible d'etre premier avec une fiche Google (ou 2eme, ou 3eme...) sans avoir d'addresse dans la ville que l'on cible. A moins qu'il n'y est aucune competition. Ce que je doute fortement dans ton cas.

I've seen that googles guidelines claim that they don't allow virtual offices to be used for Google my business. I'm sure there are people out there that are using virtual offices in some way for registering a Google my business profile that fit the criteria but I can't find a way of clearly doing this. As you correctly stated, virtual office are not allowed. Although some businesses sometime manage to claim a location it's just a matter of time before their listings get suspended so I wouldn't recommend it.
Depends on the pictures. Try this tool to check if they are deemed inapropriate:cloud.google.com/vision Just scroll all the way down and add a picture. Check what google sees

Hey man, my business isn't showing up in google. i have 2 accounts on different places. both are verified. But somehow the service tab won't show on the right. besides i can't upload pictures to one of the profiles. Do you know what's going on?
There isn't an option to set your hours based on appointments only. According to Google's guidelines you should set your hours based on when your business location is staffed.
I am a real estate agent that works out of an office but also have a service area. I initially set up my profile as a service area only with no address. Can I still add the main office address and maintain the service area as well? Which way would be best for ranking purposes for a real estate agent?
@rankingacademy I set up my account last night following your video. It said the address would not be visible so I entered my home address. However after watching your other video and the Google maps. I see that none of the office agents have a Google page or show up on the map. Only the brokers main office does. It's being more than 16 days but postcard didnt arrive. In the meantime "enter code" got replaced with video verification. And that's the only option available. Hi Patrick. You won't be eligible to claim a listing. Google profiles are for local businesses only, not online. Even if you manage to claim one it will likely by suspended at some point

are you a registered business ? If not do you have a website where you showcase your service(s) ? add a number on there, select your field and hope for the best. If Google do end up pulling that down so be it. Just use a facebook page and grow a following online, a rep etc. ultimately you can only call yourself a business if you're generating a steady stream of income and have registered yourself officially as a business however I have found many people with GMB listings who are claerly not businesses but have used their personal residential addresses. That is something you could consider.
It may not be available. Certain functionalities are only available to certain type of business. Check some of your competitors to see if they have the booking link implemented on their listing. If not, it's unlikely you have access to it

so weird, I already have a google listing for my business with my reviews and all other relevant business information, despite not setting this up myself. It's also not claimable or found during the "search" option when setting up google business profile

The key factor to being able to claim a listing is to make in person contact with customers. If your business is exclusively online you won't be eligible to claim a listing.

Hi Thomas. You are correct. Google business profiles are for local businesses only. If your activity is only online you are not eligible.

@@rankingacademy it is wildly unfair. when the edit is suggested the business profile is taken down within minutes. im not getting notifications when the edit is suggested and i figured out how to *add a missing place but it takes a week or more to be re added.
what steps do i have to take to get notifications and refuse the suggested edit?

If you are doing this for service based business clients how would you suggest going about starting out in terms of setting up a gmail address to do this? ...if you do it through your own gmail address should you have a separate gmail address for all businesses? My thought was to set it up for them and then transfer ownership to them and have them add you on as manager.
I usually create a gmail account for the business and set myself up as a manager. If the client no longer wants to work with me I can give him the details of the account and remove myself from it so he remains the owner of the listing

Bonjour Manu. Il est litteralement impossible d'etre premier avec une fiche Google (ou 2eme, ou 3eme...) sans avoir d'addresse dans la ville que l'on cible. A moins qu'il n'y est aucune competition. Ce que je doute fortement dans ton cas.

Definitely worth it!. Not everyone clicks on add. You can generate a ton of leads through a google business profile

Doesn't sound like you're a local business, more international which means you wouldn't qualify for a google business profile

As you correctly stated, virtual office are not allowed. Although some businesses sometime manage to claim a location it's just a matter of time before their listings get suspended so I wouldn't recommend it.

Depends on the pictures. Try this tool to check if they are deemed inapropriate:cloud.google.com/vision

There isn't an option to set your hours based on appointments only. According to Google's guidelines you should set your hours based on when your business location is staffed.
I am a real estate agent that works out of an office but also have a service area. I initially set up my profile as a service area only with no address. Can I still add the main office address and maintain the service area as well? Which way would be best for ranking purposes for a real estate agent?

However after watching your other video and the Google maps. I see that none of the office agents have a Google page or show up on the map. Only the brokers main office does. I would like my name to pop up next to the main office. I work from there every day.

Hi Patrick. You won't be eligible to claim a listing. Google profiles are for local businesses only, not online. Even if you manage to claim one it will likely by suspended at some point

are you a registered business ? If not do you have a website where you showcase your service(s) ? add a number on there, select your field and hope for the best. If Google do end up pulling that down so be it. Just use a facebook page and grow a following online, a rep etc.
ultimately you can only call yourself a business if you're generating a steady stream of income and have registered yourself officially as a business however I have found many people with GMB listings who are claerly not businesses but have used their personal residential addresses. That is something you could consider.

It may not be available. Certain functionalities are only available to certain type of business. Check some of your competitors to see if they have the booking link implemented on their listing. If not, it's unlikely you have access to it

If you are not the owner of both listings you won't be able to ask google to merge them . You need to claim ownership of the first one

The key factor to being able to claim a listing is to make in person contact with customers. If your business is exclusively online you won't be eligible to claim a listing.
