I do not disagree love needs to be at our core when we marry, not our dreams. I gave love and support to a brilliant and capable man - whom I chose, and he is exceptionally successful and happy. He has not, however, kept love for me at his core. Love should be balanced and fully integrated as I believe you intend here. Unfortunately at the ages of 66, I’m not asking him to support my dreams (I have much freedom in pursuing wonderful things in my life), but to love me enough that we work to paint a picture of our last chapter of life TOGETHER. He is married to his work and doesn’t want to look or plan outside of that bubble. I am NOT asking him to stop working, but to move from 50-70 hours per week to part time (which he has the ability to do). I am left alone to pursue learning, creativity, volunteerism, travel in my life. Love is understanding, accepting, sharing. There is no sharing here.
Yes, it's so beautiful when we can put our dream energy into our spouse! I want to train for the Olympics for my age group, and what better way to invest that energy than into our spouse! How might that manifest, and what exciting ideas can it generate, and how can we give our loved one the ultimate experience in life? I'm excited just thinking about the possibilities! Thank you!!
