One thing to keep in mind with Bleach is that its world is based on the Buddhist cycle of Samsara, meaning that its "afterlife" works on a system of cyclical reincarnation (humans in the World of the Living who die can go to Soul Society, Souls who die in Soul Society get reincarnated into the World of the Living, Souls bound by their attachment to the World of the Living eventually turn into Hollows, Hollows that get purified by a zanpakuto go into Soul Society, & beings who committed a grave sin end up in Hell) as opposed to the Western, linear notion of afterlife with Heaven as the end goal. Each realm in Bleach is a plane of existence whose inhabitants have their own individual needs & desires, & not like Heaven where the concept of desire is pretty much nonexistent since everyone is fulfilled & at peace. This means that dying isn't quite as terminal a concept in Bleach as it is to "us" aka the readers / audience. Don't get me wrong, people in Bleach STILL DIE & STOP SHOWING UP, but in the grand scheme of things, everyone moves to somewhere when they die in Bleach.
@@AmberAlise Welcome to the world of Bleach i finish the manga years ago but When get further into the story your gonna witness soul crushing heartache

What I love about Bleach fights is that the progression is tied to state of mind. While physical training matters it only matters to an extent unlike other shows. What's important in Bleach is the mindset of the person.
Shunsui is my favorite Bleach character. I love his laid back attitude but that he has this element to himself that really comes out in the last saga that seemingly contradicts all of this.
Kubo is great at characterizing using themes and aesthetics that very quickly leads to liking a character but won’t give backstory until you’re already attached, for it to have maximum impact. Kinda of like no normal person is gonna drop their backstory or trauma on someone right away, their gonna let subtly important surface level stuff form the basis of the relationship, then progress into the serious stuff once they have some level of trust/affection. Love to see you calling out Ichigo’s recognition of Hanatoro, that kids great and Ichigo’s general personality around this part gets a tiny shoutout waaaaaaaay later too, nice to see you pick up on the less obvious character traits most people forget about when discussing Ichigo
Bleach is a manga full of symbolism one of best example of symbolism is the “rain” rain is used in Bleach to show Ichigo’s despair. The day his mother died it was raining, the day he figured out Grand Fisher killed his mother it was raining, when Rukia was abducted by Renji n Byakuya n left Ichigo in a pool of his own blood it was raining. Ichigo is a character with huge survivors guilt he blames himself for his mothers death and now with his new Shinigami powers he wants to protect people however even with this power he could not save Rukia almost reliving his trauma. So I found it very beautiful n symbolic that when Kisuke arrived he put his umbrella over Ichigo’s lifeless body shielding him from the rain(despair). One of my favorite panels in all of Bleach. My favorite moment of Kenpachi vs Ichigo is Old men Zangetsu monologue about “hating the rain” cause whenever Ichigo feels dispair or depression it rains in his inner world where Zangetsu lives I love how the anime voice actor conveyed this feeling ua-cam.com/video/9W17JthrISY/v-deo.htmlsi=NvpgCdLt9yXg4QK5. Also the poems at the start of every volume is being said by the characters on the covers of the volume. The poem usually represents the characters ideology’s or something the character is about to experience.
@@AmberAlise i wish you'd try covering the volume poems and give your own idea what you get from them. They are great for the characters and also sometimes foreshadow certain events.
When you get to the final arc, you should consider watching the anime over reading the manga. Kubo was ill when writing his last arc and forced to rush by his circumstances. Years later, with the arc getting animated, he's extremely involved and writing dozens of new scenes/fights to finally include the stuff he couldn't before. Also, after the last arc is a one shot manga called "No Breaths From Hell" that is the opening/pilot for a new arc whenever Bleach finally returns to producing new content. Im not sure if this was put into a collection or volume. You might need to find that online.
I'm instantly filled with joy when you post these reviews of your Bleach journey, there's just such a surreal feeling you get when someone passionately talks about one of your favourite stories as if you're getting to re-experience it again from scratch. Merry Christmas!
Regarding Ichigo's power, I think he knows the difference between a real fight and a brawl, so he's obviously not going to go all out against Ganju even if he really annoys him (unless I'm misremembering that section and there is a huge fight). It's like how his dad always tries to fight him, not really serious. Plus most of his training was learning to fight as a shinigami and unlocking his own spirit power.
Just so its clarified, Zangetsu's name isn't pronounced with a "j" sound. Not being disrespectful, just letting you know. I had some whiplash when I heard it said that way, lol. I'm glad you've enjoyed BLEACH thus far, and I think you'll love everything to come. The plot only thickens from here...
I will only feel disrespected if you all DON'T correct me 😂! I need all the help I can get with these names, lol. Your comment is very much appreciated!
After the soul society arc, you can watch bleach: memories of nobody if you want to The movie is actually canon, it has been canon for the last decade or so, but recently the tybw anime basically just confirmed that it's canon with a interval eye catcher thing which said ichigo once visited a place he did in that movie and that's not in the manga
So a thing about the soul society that i like from a setting perspective is that the gotei 13 (the 13 squads, aka, the soul reapers) fight the hollows to protect the humans, they bring spirits to the soul society and sometimes they deal with inner crimes and that's it (and i guess that one time they had to wipe out uryu's clan because they threatened the stability of the reincarnation process by destroying the hollows rather than cleansing them) they are just a military body and they refuse to do anything else like it's not their problem, like, they have 0 humanitarian spirit even if it technically falls outside of their responsibilities to help people find each other or to even make sure they don't pass their afterlife in abject poverty, irl military bodies do sometimes do humanitarian work. Also there's probably people that know how to uplift the life quality of the soul society but they're too busy surviving, that and the fact that there's mentions of "noble families" that aren't necessarily a part of the soul reapers but do have ties to them really kinda informs you how the afterlife went this way without the story itself ever really exploring why things are how they are (although you do get to learn a little bit more how things are ran and it just reinforces what i was saying)
The Ichigo appreciation! Renji appreciation! Hanataro appreciation! Ganju appreciation! Thank you so much for it and I just wanna say that I love how passionate you are about this series. It's my favorite one so I understand the feelings! ☺️
I am glad you like this arc. It a big twist from the first one, but I feel like it is seamlessly linked together. Looking fordward to your thoughts on the next parts-
More of the Captains' individual morality will become clear. Kubo does a good job of presenting them as so uniform yet distinct initially, because on the one hand they're part of this very rule-heavy institution so they'll be uniform in some respects but also they are their own people with their own personalities.
you getting better at names! a small correction is the emphasis in Rukia’s name, it’s on letter “U” so it goes Rúkia and not Rukía i already saw people correct you on Zangetsu so imma skip this one, but otherwise everything was on point especially Seireitei which you nailed first try and im happy that you like this story so far, it’s one of my favorite of all time
There's a lot of hidden reasons for most things in Bleach. I really hope you pick up on them when you look back. Like there's a reason why Ganju brawl with Ichigo a lot. And many are not explicitly explained, but it make sense if you start thinking about it.
Bleach has a habit of introducing lots of characters all at once to make the world feel big and appropriately lived in, and then doesn't initially signpost which ones are going to be primary, secondary, and tertiary characters. In Soul Society Kubo introduces the 13 squads which each have a captain and leutenant, and while some are only bit players and some are pivotal, every one receives a name and unique character design with relations to other characters. He also uses structured arrangements or organizations to create character intrigue e.g. we know there are 13 squads, so whenever we encounter a new captain it had inbuilt questions like "which squad are they in charge of and who's their captain?" Whether it works for you or not is definitely subjective, but Soul Society is a good indication of Kubo's narrative writing.
With the Spritual Ball thing, Ichigo has a lot of spiritual power, but the best word to describe his control over it at this point in the story is "unsophisticated"
Although i love future arc more because of the character works, thematic structure , the reveals and conclusions but soul society arc is special not only because its the first major arc but the way it establishes and introduced new characters and it is prolly the best example of genius plotting in bleach. The next half is going to be crazy!! Can't wait for it.
Regarding my favoite scenes: I'm biased coming from the Anime , since I haven't read the series in years. But my favorite parts of this arc are the Ikakku fight, Momo's reaction to Aizens death (that whole scene), and the "resolve" moment. If you can, I highly recommend you watch that scene in the Anime adaptation as it was really well adapted. Thanks again for your review of the series. Eagerly awaiting your next video! Merry Christmas!
I love it! You picked some of my favorite moments! ! completely forgot to mention Momo's reaction to Aizen's death! When she was about to fight for him 😭 - that was so powerful and heartbreaking! I'll definitely be looking forward to watching the resolve scene in the anime! Thank you so much! Merry Christmas to you as well!
The Kenpachi fight has so much stuff that comes back around later on in the series. It is really masterfullly done. Next part introduces one of authors favorite characters and he is someone that is really interesting in a lot of ways.
And I didn't comment on the video you did on the previous introductory arc, but I'm glad you love Ichigo so much! As a kid I had seen glimpses of other anime but they never caught my eye, and I think Ichigo is a big reason of why Bleach stuck for me. I love the balance of how he seems like a "stoic" esque character but Kubo uses him for humor a lot and has no problem making fun of him. He's kind of a "no-nonsense badass" but shows compassion and has that shonen drive to never give up. He's kind of a himbo in how straightforward he is and not really thinking about complex things much, but he also isn't dumb at all and his emotions and conflictions go deep. There's generally a lot of balance with him, which is fitting with how important the idea of balance is in this series.
The Whole world of Bleach is based on Souls... The thing with the Soul Society is, its not quite the afterlife, its another dimension, another world, a place where the souls of people whose bodies have died in the world of the living go So yeah, they still need sustenance to "live" in the soul society
Its based on a more easter view of live and death. People die and go to the afterlife. People from the afterlife get reincarnated in the living world after they die, a cicle rather than a lineal path. That being said, since at this point there is not much focus on this, it really is a bit confusing
Always happy to see someone new, invested in bleach, especially manga. Why no love for Mayuri though? 😂😂. I'm excited for the next videos, keep it up 👍👍
😂😂 Hmmm, Mayuri's introduction...left a lot to be desired. 😂 However, I am looking forward to seeing where his character goes in the story! Thank you for your kind comment!
4:40 In defence of Gun's actions here, a guards purpose is to put their life on the line to keep people out, not to allow people in when they lose. Gin says something to that effect in the anime. What's deplorable however is how severely he chastises someone who is essentially his underling for not doing what was expected of him
Hey Amber "Happy Monday". I hope you're having a wonderful day. As well a wonderful Christmas. The Soul Society Arc I really enjoyed it. The fights was great. I really like some of ths captains of the 13 coury guard squad. My favorites are Shunsei, Kenpachi, Byakuya and Hitsugaya. But anyway I hope you have a lovely day. Stay safe, stay positive, stay blessed, take care and stay amazing Soul Reaper Captain Amber.
when you inevitably get to the last arc of the manga, treat yourself and watch the animated version. It's so well animated and there is a lot that Kubo didnt get to draw in the manga that he's expanding on.
I love that you’re reading BLEACH ❤I HOPE to see more of your thoughts on the soul society arc. I loved your thoughts on this first part of the arc. Ichigo is truly my favorite type of main character in anime/manga so I loved your thoughts to hear your love for him in every video you make! Keep going ☺️
ok so in terms of making sense of how the souls age and so on just think of each area, like seretei and world of the living as diferent worlds that are linked. As the story goes on the clarity of how that system works gets more fleshed out and youll understand more. A bit of it was explained at the start and fed into why there are issues with the quincy (uryus') method of killing hollow and what exactly happens when soul reapers deal with "souls " instead As you mentioned before there is something going on in the background and how much of it is linked to the way these worlds need each other and how characters feel about it comes out throughout the story
No Rukia is like 140 at the start of the series. We know this since she says she is almost 10 times Ichigo's age (15 at the time). Renji is probably about the same.
Every character in bleach has some type of importance in the story. Kubo has always focused on his characters. There is a lot of details in every character in the series
Void!! It's awesome seeing you here! I wasn't sure how to properly notify that channel, but yes! Now that you mention that about Gege, I can definitely see people who enjoy JJK loving Bleach! Knowing that you enjoyed JJK, I highly recommend it if you ever get the chance!
Hell yea Bleach is my #1 anime. It's hard to comment without spoiling but I'm sure it will be your top 3 anime BEFORE you get to Thousand Year Blood War arc
Soul reaper is a duty, as a balancer . To send good soul and cleanse corrupted soul into Soul society, thus doesn't distrupt the incarnation cycle. But its structural authority organisation, Gotei13 is very conservative , rigid and sometimes shady . Part of them have done unethical methods , atrocious things without any repercussions. So, the story can change into very dark and deep just like that. Also remember to take note upon tonnes of hints scattered in this arc. Like the fallen barrier, Ganju's family name , Ichigo's inner world . There will be a time later on, where you definitely think " Oh, i see , that's why these things happened" and " What, I can't believe he/she is that "
Yoruichi is the finest Woman in Bleach HANDS DOWN and very lovable. Now as far as you're question goes on did Renji look younger the answer is Yes, in addition to can Souls in Soul Society grow up it's also yes. There are Souls that come from the Human World after they passed, Souls who come after being purified from being a Hollow and then there are Souls who were purely born as Souls (which even Hollows can be as well which never gets talked about inside the Managa but by the Auther Tite Kubo in a Q&A) from the get go. They don't really explain that but it is something. Also another thing they don't explain in detail on is how many years is human years to Shinigami years. Rukia in the first chapter says she's lived 10x the years Ichigo has (paraphrasing) and in a filler episode of the anime a certain character thought another one (shinigami/soul reaper) was a kid like them and exactly the same age at that. So what we speculate is 10 Human years roughly equals 1 Shinigami year (bare minimum). So based on what Rukia told Ichigo in Chapter 1 since Ichigo was 15 that means Rukia is 150 years old at least give or take. We also got information from Tite Kubo in his Klubhouse Outside Q&A about aging as well (which I don't advise you looking into personally for a long time bcus spoilers). Just bcus you live X amount of years doesn't mean you're going to look older by default. How your Spirit Energy is also dictates how you appear as well. Which also gives a bit more Character to the Characters.
It's been a while since I've read this section of the manga, but isn't the food thing answered in the Rukia/Renji flashback? Food for nourishment isn't necessary if you have a low level of Reiryoku / Spirit energy, but it can still be tasted and appreciated
I went back to check, and it looks like they tried to steal water at one point, but they didn't talk about drinking it specifically or mention stealing and/or eating food. I looked at it quickly, but i'll check again. Now you have me wondering if maybe they elaborate on that matter more in the anime (which would be great!). Thank you for the information about the low level of Reiryoku / Spirit energy!
@@AmberAlise Damn filler! I think I've only read the earlier parts of the manga once and it was very quickly. My first experience was with the anime so it clouds my memory sometimes. There's basically a scene when the kids steal a bunch of food, and an older kid isn't letting a younger kid have any, with the reasoning that he doesn't need it since his spiritual power isn't high enough to require food to sustain it. Rukia lets him have some and says that even though they don't all need food, they can still taste and smell and deserve to enjoy things. But you're right, in the manga they're just stealing water so my mistake for assuming it was like in the anime. Water has other uses though, it could have possibly been just for washing/cleaning, but the anime wanted to elaborate more on a direct survival aspect. In the same chapter though Renji does bring up that with Rukia's adoption she'll eat well, so I do think Soul Reapers eat and it's a bit ambiguous.
Soul reapers, or rather souls with reireouku I think, are almost human like, they can eat, sleep, get hungry, and like humans, can reproduce Renji and rukia are kinda implied to be born in the soul society And with how strong they get by the tybw, I actually have a theory that they might be nobels like byakuya, idk I have no proof for it cuz it's just a theory and not a spoiler lol
@@notsome3867 Ahhh! Yes! 😂I am thrilled! (While editing, I realized that I somehow messed up two names that I was 100% confident about lol, so this makes me feel better! haha)
@ it’s definitely harder getting names right when reading manga since you don’t get to here the names but so far you’re doing really good glad you’re enjoying Bleach
amber this is like months away but the time you get to the thousand year blood war chapters you should really watch the anime as its just better ofc read but the anime just feels better
Honestly, learning Renji's past makes his introduction to the story so bizarre. Dude comes in swinging, legitimately trying to kill Rukia, only for his character to get a complete rehaul barely a few chapters later. Makes me think Kubo didn't have a real grasp of Renji's character yet, so he made him comically evil so we knew to root for Ichigo. I love Renji, don't get me wrong, I think he gets a lot of undeserved hate and mockery in the community, but that introduction in hindsight is WILD.
Yeah around mid to late soul society is when a lot of the story is more planned out overall It is why in his first appearance Byakuya also doesn't have his captain rope as it wasn't something he have think about fully yet There are some stuff planned out since the beginning but they aren't that set in stone originally
@@kwartengkwakumensah That explanation would be acceptable if the scene was toned down more, but Renji 100% would’ve killed her if Uryu hadn’t stepped in. There’s nothing wrong with an author screwing up something because he hadn’t planned it out yet, it just makes it bizarre.
@tyforestreacts yeah but he didn't kill her so I'm still right. I mean are you telling me that renji a soul reaper couldn't kill a soul reaper stuck in a gigai
7:50 I think you have to put into context that Genju stands no chance against Ichigo here, Ichigo isn't trying to kill/fight him seriously he literally just put himself down to his level by just doing a normal fist fight one where he didn't use his powers as a Soul Reaper. Its both played for laughs and also a character moment for the both of them Ichigo isn't looking down on him as a Soul Reaper and Genju will come to respect him for not abusing his power and lording it over him Ichigo in this interaction is showing how he's different from the Soul Reapers Genju hates.
you ´ve had a lot of great moments in the first part, but a lot of the best moments are in the next part. and btw the best character is gin ichimaru (y i have a kenpachi pp but shtt)
Wait - that's so cool! I love learning little facts life this! I am actually soooo happy that he decided to keep him as a sweet and kind kid, because he's perfect!
@AmberAlise yeah, kubo rereads the manga a fair bit, most likely was like this doesn't make sense and scraped the idea, orihime was nearly a dragon also read burn the witch
The world of bleach is a bit of a hodgepodge of a bunch of different religions. Idk which religion the soul society is based off but it isn't based off heaven. You pass on in bleach and have to deal with all the same troubles you had in your previous life + a few extra. Obviously its perfectly fine to pronounce the names however you want but just in case you'd be interested ganju is pronounced with the english J sound not a Y sound like ganyu. But it is funny cause there is at least one character later on who's name is written with a J but is pronounced like a Y like in German. Hardly anybody pronounces the names right in bleach even fans. Especially later on the names get really difficult and come from all over the world. So don't stress too much. I'm not gonna say anything to influence your opinion one way or the other but from some of the things you said in this video its going to be interesting seeing your thoughts of the later on stuff. I know fans get overzealous all the time so hopefully nobody says more than they should.
You've officially gotten too where Bleach gets great for most. Some people even think this is where the series peaks, which is a tough one for me, each arc all feels very different to me and all have their own strengths however Soul Society is probably the most streamlined in terms of just being a good ass arc from start to finish.
Thank you for sharing that! I am having such an awesome time with this arc! So far, the character growth for SO many characters (even characters that I would have never expected!) has been integrated into the story so well!
Ok - now you have crossed the line. I can handle most disagreements - but I draw the line at Kon! 😂 You are 100% correct about Kenpachi! He is such a cool character!
Don't think of the people of Soul Society as spirits like in the living world. In Soul Society, in that realm of existence, laws are different or apply to beings differently than in the World of the Living.
That's a great way to think about it! I think what confused me, is that since they are determining where souls go, I put a lot of weight on the moral factor of it all. These comments are really helping me understand the Soul Society better!
@AmberAlise the Soul Reapers don't decide where souls go. Their swords are just tools that do the soul transference to the other realms Soul Society being the standard and Hell reserved to those that did bad and I mean really bad things. The Soul Reapers maintain the flow of souls be them regular spirits or Hollows.
@@AmberAliseThink of it this way. The Shinigamis are Balancers. They are only responsible to guide Souls. They aren't angels (like we know from let's say the bible) nor is the Soul Society heaven (bible). The Soul Society is basically a different Realm/Universe where Souls that die in the World of the living are sent/guided till they get reincarnated as a human. Their only job is to sent back Souls who have lost their way after death or purify Hollows to the SS to keep the balance of the Universes in check. Why and how this system exists you still need to find out. Also i love that you put alot of weight into the moral factor because this is very important in the series. It's not just black and white. That's all I'm gonna say about morals about this series and the concept of the verse. Fun fact: this is never mentioned in the series but in a databook by Kubo. The alloted waiting time of Souls Reincarnation in Rukongai is 80 years.
Just a heads up the last arc of this manga (volumes 55-74) is notoriously rushed. The author was really sick at the time and the whole thing ends up coming across as incomplete and unsatisfying. After reading volume 54 you should watch the anime instead (Bleach Thousand-Year Blood war). The author is heavily involved and he’s fleshing out the arc like you wouldn’t believe. There are several major brand new scenes that surprise even the manga readers so yeah make sure to switch to the anime after volume 54. Also there are some bleach novels you should look into. Bleach The Honey Dish Rhapsody takes place after volume 20. The following you should read after volume 48 in this order. The special manga chapter not be, but be. The short story Nestle to Night. The novel series Bleach Spirits Are Forever With You (volumes 1 and 2). The novel Bleach The Death Save The Strawberry. Beginning of the revive of Tomorrow is a short story that takes place during Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War. The following take place after the end of the story in this order. The novel series Bleach Can’t Fear Your Own World (volumes 1-3). The novel Bleach We Do Knot Always Love You. The Burn the Witch manga series. The Bleach No Breathes From Hell one-shot.
funny, the only parts that felt rushed to me was..... spoiler The royal palace saga, u kno, squad zero getting offscreened and then the Gerard Valkyrie fight later on, and maybe bits of Kisuke vs askin, other than that, the pacing felt fine to me And the conclusion was one of the best things I've read imo, but I do understand wanting at least one more chapter discussing the immediate aftermath of the war before jumping 10 years into the future

This, exactly this.
You all make this experience 10x more fun! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Really looking forward to seeing your reactions some of the crazy stuff that takes place in the second half of Soul Society.

@@RandomGuy-ci9nt Lol! I fear this may not be an isolated event for certain future words 😭😂
After the soul society arc, you can watch bleach: memories of nobody if you want to
The movie is actually canon, it has been canon for the last decade or so, but recently the tybw anime basically just confirmed that it's canon with a interval eye catcher thing which said ichigo once visited a place he did in that movie and that's not in the manga
What a great explanation! Thank you for taking the time to write this!
Kubo does a good job of presenting them as so uniform yet distinct initially, because on the one hand they're part of this very rule-heavy institution so they'll be uniform in some respects but also they are their own people with their own personalities.
you getting better at names!
a small correction is the emphasis in Rukia’s name, it’s on letter “U” so it goes Rúkia and not Rukía
i already saw people correct you on Zangetsu so imma skip this one, but otherwise everything was on point especially Seireitei which you nailed first try and im happy that you like this story so far, it’s one of my favorite of all time
There's a lot of hidden reasons for most things in Bleach.
He also uses structured arrangements or organizations to create character intrigue e.g. we know there are 13 squads, so whenever we encounter a new captain it had inbuilt questions like "which squad are they in charge of and who's their captain?"
Whether it works for you or not is definitely subjective, but Soul Society is a good indication of Kubo's narrative writing.
This arc is such a gem. And the best hting about it is that its second half is even better than its first :D
With the Spritual Ball thing, Ichigo has a lot of spiritual power, but the best word to describe his control over it at this point in the story is "unsophisticated"
22:58 Kenpachi is an outlier as a Shinigami (soul Reaper) in that he got so strong without learning how to hear his Zanpakuto and learn its name.
It gets better
I stared reading bleach because of you I'm now on chapter 300 thank you i fuck with it
300?! I need to get on your level! 😂 That is awesome! I am so happy that you are enjoying it!
9:48 Ichigo's just a big softy at heart!
15:46 - well... 😭
The Whole world of Bleach is based on Souls...
The thing with the Soul Society is, its not quite the afterlife, its another dimension, another world, a place where the souls of people whose bodies have died in the world of the living go
So yeah, they still need sustenance to "live" in the soul society
basically, whole new souls can even be born in the soul society (the noble clans is a good example)
Ohhh! That clarifies a lot of my questions! Thank you for explaining that!
Its based on a more easter view of live and death. People die and go to the afterlife. People from the afterlife get reincarnated in the living world after they die, a cicle rather than a lineal path. That being said, since at this point there is not much focus on this, it really is a bit confusing
Kenpachi is my fav ❤.
Oh cool Rob! I'll be interested to see which ones are my favorite after completing this arc! Thank you for sharing!

when you inevitably get to the last arc of the manga, treat yourself and watch the animated version. It's so well animated and there is a lot that Kubo didnt get to draw in the manga that he's expanding on.
Check out the Sanctuary Arc of Saint Seiya as a major and direct inspiration.
Thank you for this sweet comment! I look forward to discussing the rest of this awesome story with you all!
Watch out for every detail in Ichigos training. His training is not like some typical anime MC training where it will just boost his power up
ok so in terms of making sense of how the souls age and so on
just think of each area, like seretei and world of the living as diferent worlds that are linked.
As the story goes on the clarity of how that system works gets more fleshed out and youll understand more.
A bit of it was explained at the start and fed into why there are issues with the quincy (uryus') method of killing hollow
and what exactly happens when soul reapers deal with "souls " instead
As you mentioned before there is something going on in the background and how much of it is linked to the way these worlds need each other and how characters feel about it comes out throughout the story
Ikkaku is a unique case when considering his strength and dynamic with Kenpachi as you’ll find out later in the Arrancar arc.
If she'll find out later, why say anything now? 🤔
We have so many Lord and Saviour figures in Bleach. Kon, Don Kan'onji, Hanatarou, Maki Maki
Renji asking Ichigo to save Rukia holds a special place in my heart
Fun fact hanataro is the youngest serving member of the gotei 13 at around 70ish years old. Rukia and Renji are 80ish
No Rukia is like 140 at the start of the series. We know this since she says she is almost 10 times Ichigo's age (15 at the time). Renji is probably about the same.
Every character in bleach has some type of importance in the story. Kubo has always focused on his characters. There is a lot of details in every character in the series
Ooooo bleach, haven't read it myself but I've heard gege was very influenced by when writing jjk. Also is this where we will get shounen content now?
AIZEN my beloved!!! 😢
24:51 😅
Soul reaper is a duty, as a balancer . To send good soul and cleanse corrupted soul into Soul society, thus doesn't distrupt the incarnation cycle. But its structural authority organisation, Gotei13 is very conservative , rigid and sometimes shady . Part of them have done unethical methods , atrocious things without any repercussions. So, the story can change into very dark and deep just like that.
Also remember to take note upon tonnes of hints scattered in this arc. Like the fallen barrier, Ganju's family name , Ichigo's inner world . There will be a time later on, where you definitely think " Oh, i see , that's why these things happened" and " What, I can't believe he/she is that "
You are going to love all the arcs except the next arc sorry for spoiler 😅
Next arc ? What do you mean ?
Soul reapers, or rather souls with reireouku I think, are almost human like, they can eat, sleep, get hungry, and like humans, can reproduce
Renji and rukia are kinda implied to be born in the soul society
And with how strong they get by the tybw, I actually have a theory that they might be nobels like byakuya, idk I have no proof for it cuz it's just a theory and not a spoiler lol
You said Seireitei Correctly
Really?! This is the best kind of comment! 😂 Thank you!

Noted! Thank you Troy!
I love Renji, don't get me wrong, I think he gets a lot of undeserved hate and mockery in the community, but that introduction in hindsight is WILD.
agree
Yeah around mid to late soul society is when a lot of the story is more planned out overall
It is why in his first appearance Byakuya also doesn't have his captain rope as it wasn't something he have think about fully yet
There are some stuff planned out since the beginning but they aren't that set in stone originally
He wasn't trying to kill her. He was trying to scare her so she wouldn't run away. I mean he was only given the order to capture her
@@kwartengkwakumensah That explanation would be acceptable if the scene was toned down more, but Renji 100% would’ve killed her if Uryu hadn’t stepped in.

Great points! When you put it like that, it makes a lot more sense!
you ´ve had a lot of great moments in the first part, but a lot of the best moments are in the next part.
and btw the best character is gin ichimaru (y i have a kenpachi pp but shtt)

Oh a fellow Lain pfp. Lets all love Lain.
no worries
It funny how you love Con, and hes my absolute least favorite character lol. PS: Kenpachi the GOAT
Ok - now you have crossed the line. I can handle most disagreements - but I draw the line at Kon! 😂
You are 100% correct about Kenpachi! He is such a cool character!
@@AmberAlise Its so wild that our takes are so opposite all the time lol
@@Omegateck16 😂Right?! 😂
Ganju, is pronounced as ganju
Not as ganyu, that's the goat girl from genshin lol
Wait till you meet Aizen and Gin your gonna love em 😉
Bleach >>>> one piece
The Bleach No Breathes From Hell one-shot.
funny, the only parts that felt rushed to me was.....
spoiler
The royal palace saga, u kno, squad zero getting offscreened
and then the Gerard Valkyrie fight later on, and maybe bits of Kisuke vs askin,
other than that, the pacing felt fine to me
And the conclusion was one of the best things I've read imo, but I do understand wanting at least one more chapter discussing the immediate aftermath of the war before jumping 10 years into the future

Not everyone's gonna have the same takeaway from reading a piece of fiction, let her read the TYBW and then make up her own mind about the pacing
Also, another thing that just bugs me is how so many "fans" of the series just started brushing off the manga as soon as the anime came out
