It's a murder mystery where we see the actual murder in the first scene. What is this fu*cking Columbo? No it's not. Columbo made sense. They went parent trap even though one of the twins has a giant swirly force tattoo ON HER F*CKING FOREHEAD. This show is so abysmally written, and the plot is so convoluted and contradictory that the only happy moment I've had so far is the incredibly satisfying sound of Yord's neck getting snapped.
Not to mention that the people she's infiltrating don't (or aren't supposed to) use just their eyes to know what's around them. Sol should be able to feel the difference with the Force and know that Mae isn't Osha.
@@markgreenberg5825 I think Sol knows. When Mae (as Osha) first appeared Sol asked her "Where is she?" Mae (as osha) said Who? Sol replied, "Your sister". Not "Mae" or "Osha", but "Your sister". We'll just have to see. Either way, it's still just dumb.
A good twist is something, that you do not see coming at all, but when you look back afterwards, you smash your head and tell yourself, "I should have seen that!"

Well, the only out they ever had was to kill all of these characters so that the council doesn't find out. And, it was as clumsy and 1-dimensional as expected.
I dont think it's the last we see of them. With Russian doll (her other show) the show went back in time several times, in fact the majority of the show was set in past
Kathleen Kennedy could announce tomorrow that Anakin Skywalker is being retconned to be a transgender man, and there would be fans of The Acolyte who would be completely fine with that. Some people don't care about Star Wars continuity or lore.
Thing is, her idea to make the deaths be the surprise instead of the reveal is not in essence a bad idea, the obvious problem is that in order for it to work we have to care about these characters and the show has provided absolutely no reason to do this.
Neither Yord nor Jeki are good characters, in fact they are barely characters at all. Neither one is given any significant background, neither one has any significant connection to the other characters, and neither one had any real impact on the plot. Killing them off means nothing as there was no reason for them to be there to begin with, the were literally created just to have ‘shocking’ deaths.
So the foundation of her idea wasn’t bad, but her execution of the idea was terrible.
No, the biggest spectacular thing in the SW streaming was Luke at the end of Season 2 Mando.
To be fair, I think Headland was being honest about the Qimir reveal. I knew it since episode 2 when he and Mae stated that "peace is a lie" which is a direct reference to the Sith Code. This reference happened when Qimir spoke about how the Jedi operate their galactic dominance with peace. Essentially, this view is a direct philosophy of the Sith. He was also completely involved with Mae throughout the scenes they shared together, and there had to be a reason as to why Sol didn’t use the mind trick on him to get a confession.
As for the characters dying, due to their lack of development and depth, I did not feel anything towards them, other than perhaps Yord, who died simply because Osha was an idiot. Osha is arguably the worst protagonist in Star Wars history, she's just in the way and is completely unlikeable.

There is an established art to the 'twist' in fiction. Masters of the craft include Agatha Christie and Fredric Brown. Leslye's comments show her to be completely oblivious, and an absolute amateur, whilst believing herself to be AMAZING. Dunning-Kruger, in full swing here... She'd tell a heart surgeon how to do their job...

In typical Disney fashion they filmed each character with Minimal contact and Context, the Overacting a result of poor Direction.
I don't think the individuals know how BAD the end product was after they finished, other than what their Disney agent tells them.
I'm disappointed. I was hoping literally EVERYONE would die in this episode, bringing an end to the show. Oh, well...

🤦She thinks she is sooo smart but she apparently hasn't watched, or read, any good murder mystery. Of course there need to be clues that will make sense in retrospect, or that you can pick on if you are really careful, but there have to be multiple candidates and it's NEVER Mr Obvious. Her idea of a mystery is akin to a toddler playing hide-and-seek and covering their eyes because when they can't see anyone, nobody can see _them_ .

My girlfriend actually said she hope that character die. Its quite sad. She isnt a fan of star wars but she just join to watch with me. Seen all movies but not shows due to she barely could watch ep 7-9. Its quite bad then imo. She had so many question as a non fan as me who is a fan of star wars. Even a non fan understood something wasnt right here. Thats quite bad. She liked sol and the sith most so far. The main character we both deemed useless.

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. and that is the way of a sith the way of evil.

I still don’t understand why Jecke and Yord are different characters. They serve the same purpose in the story, and if they were a single character then they could have given them enough screen time to actually make their death meaningful.

It was so obvious that Smylo-Ren was gonna be discount Ezra Miller, that I was really hoping that it was gonna turn out to be Darth Maureen, the Zabrak ‘other’ mother of the twins, that she had turned on the cliché space Witches, to attempt to galvanize the girls against the Jedi, but hadn’t counted on Fannie Mae and the flammable bricks they just-so-happened to build their fortress out of, and only found one of the girls.
It was so obvious that people thought it was a red herring.

The problem with Disney is they put warning labels on great movies like the animated jungle book because the way some people are depicted but you see no problem in the way every single person is portrayed in this show. Leslie headland needs to be investigated by the attorney general of the United States after all she did and does to actors and actresses under her. In interviews she is always having unsolicited touches of her employees while in front of the cameras. No touch, no innuendo and no hate speech.
Headland clearly doesn't know how to write. I write smut fanfiction as a hobby, and I could do a better show than this woman. For a start, i'd make it all about Plagueis and his training under Tenebrous. Zero mention of lesbians doing wholely unnatural things with the force.

I'll admit it makes me sad everytime someone says "Asian Ezra Miller" to note Manny Jacinto as an Asian person because Manny has already done stuff outside of this in things like The Good Place and Top Gun. It's what it is though, but does make me realize just how low on the totem pole Asian actors in America are when it comes to identifying us if we aren't someone like Jackie Chan or Michelle Yeoh. Still a long way to go.
But. Hes a kid of around 20 years old. The only thing a twenty year old is a master of is wan.....shaking hands with the unemployed. Just dumb. A sith MASTER would be a forty - fifty year old.
Torbin went from padawan to master in 6 years. Space travel is instantaneous, lightsabers are Schrodinger Nerf bats now, simultaneously deadly and not deadly at the same time. And you can change the force to the thread and use it to sew up plot holes. Its fuggin garbage. 😂

I love a good 'twist' as long as it don't have no surprises in it, I want to see it coming a mile off and make me feel nothing when revealed.

I enjoyed the fighting. I just didn't care who won or lost.
Dual of Fates was an orchestra of different elements leading to a crescendo, but this fight was like a music video without the music.
And the twist was so expected I figured it had to be someone else. Like watching a cup game where the cup with the ball in it never moves and they think they got you when the lift the cup and its still where it started.
I tuned out after you killed off the only above average actress five minutes into this show.

They either dont know how to write this genre or dont care. That line is something a 30 year old woman, constantly struggling with the climb up the "grievance hierarchy of success," speaks. That isnt how an arch villian Sith would speak. Anxiety? No! Just no...

I think they left some wiggle room to say that the smiley one is NOT a Sith Master but an apprentice looking to find an Acolyte to become his own sidekick so the two of them can kill his master.
Said master could be (just as an example) that green chick chastising Sol about him being to important to go on a mission.
They could also have Sol be the sole survivor only to be murdered by the "surprise Master" (the Snake in the Garden of Eden so to speak) when they go back to the temple. Or maybe they might keep him alive "just in case" as he's about the main draw of the show really. But Les' isn't the sharpest of writers so I expect everyone to die just to excuse the lack of knowledge of the Sith... (not that the show or Disney in general gives much of a crap about continuity).
So yeah I think he's way to young to be a Master he gives me Darth Maul vibes - suggesting the Master might want one of the girls as his own replacement over Mister Flakey. (so they can kill they guy off to replace them with a woman and then she's eventually kill the master and become the predecessor to Darth Plagius etc...
I think this is all just random speculation as if it gets a second season it would mostly be because they lack for any better ideas of what to make and they already Sabotaged the Mandalorian at this point.
Realistically Star Wars needs a long rest, not that they'd do that.
