Those who facing the black screen lock problem you just reset 2 or 3 times and wait 5 to 6 mins your Ubuntu will going to be installed and same visualisation which is showing in the video will appear.
If the screen does not seem to be resizing with the window, i.e. even after installing the VBox Guest Additions and restarting the device, go to the: *_VM menu bar (on top) > View > Auto-resize Guest Display._* And after that, the display should scale with your window's resizing. For using the Native Resolution of your display, you can go full-screen by pushing *_'HostKey + F'_* [ *Note:* *_HostKey_* may be configured to be a different key for you. On Windows 10 and VirtualBox v7.1.4 it was set as _'Right Ctrl'_ for me. You should yours written on the bottom-right corner of your VM window, right next to the _'down-arrow'_ icon ]

Dude. VirtualBox and ubuntun 24.04 are not compatible meaning you’re expected to have it working properly. Some people might have it done, but it doesn’t mean it should work. Better not work your ass out to have it installed. Just use other comparible old versions
It looked like when going through the settings, that there is no pass through option that allows Ubuntu to make use of the GPU that is installed in the machine... is this correct? I've seen this on other virtual installs and can be a pretty big negative when running a virtual machine.
Mine did that as well. However, it got beyond that point after an hour plus of waiting. If you click the command line icon just above the progress bar to the right of your screen, you will see the installation process and know exactly is causing the delay.
I followed every step, but Virtual Box still insits on 1 cpu core. I choose 12 and when the VM is made, in the settings it says 1 cpu core and its locked, cant change it, the vm cant fucking boot with 1 core of cpu

It would be nice to find a UA-cam video that actually mimics the prompts shown by VirtualBox 7.0.20 along with why certain choices are made. (Older versions of VirtualBox are usually illustrated in their respective videos.) Then, show actually installing a Linux distro within VirtualBox. Other UA-cam videos supposedly showing this process do not mimic actual prompts being presented, so user is left guessing. This results in a failed guest OS install.

if you get an error saying something like "not in hypervisor partiton (HVP=0)" you have to enable virtulization in bios settings. just leaving it out there in case anyone needs it.

I tried Ubuntu 24.04 on my VM but I got multiple freezes while installing, so I proceed downloading the 22 LTS. I waited few minutes installing on my VM and I don't encounter any issues to it.
Just doing this today: 1. I updated virtual box to the latest version 2. I switched the graphics controller setting under Display to VBoxVGA 3. Leave Enable 3D Acceleration off. 4. Then try running it. This fixed it for me.

Ubuntu 24.04 seems not compatible with VirtualBox 7.0.18. Sometimes it works, sometimes it shows the black screen and does not response anymore.

I do all these things. After finishing setup I poweroff and start the Ubuntu in VM. But now it's just a blank screen. How to get over this problem .
I got to solve this issue by reducing, to only one, the ammount of processors assigned to VM. I hope that this helps

type cd /media/your username
Then type ls u will see the VBox_GAs version
