I genuinely am sad seeing how beautiful and intricate the architecture was back then. But now the world is disgustingly boring and greedy, so they make these sharp flat buildings because it’s cheaper.
Have you ever wondered how it was possible to build these buildings in an era with so little technology? They destroyed precious buildings, consciously.
I live in Canada and I can’t even recognize the cities. A lot has definitely changed. And it’s a strange feeling knowing that everybody, except for a few of the youngest children, are dead now
Back when Canada was closer aligned with Britain and was part of the Empire. Architecture was very Victorian. Not like the soulless, glass box condos you see being built today.

Hi dear brother , you know My dream since I was kid is living in Canada My name is Armando and I am 20 years old, I am from Mexico 🇲🇽😄 Since I was kid my dreams is living there and enjoy of a safe place and peace , with the help of Jehovah I hope I can do it 😊
3:40 That's Waterfront Station, the old CPR station built in 1913. I work right behind there in the railyard. It is still a functioning passenger rail depot here in Vancouver as part of the Translink system.
Canada around the time that my ancestors came to Toronto from England. It looked great. Full of promise. What a time to be alive! 🙂Those farmers and their kids had it rough.
My Ancestors have been in America so long, I just consider myself American. Cool video to watch though, interesting to see the Union Jack flags I guess that’s what America would have looked like too if we didn’t make the English surrender at Yorktown
Wonderful work, thank you! The ONLY criticism I have was applying the same sounds use for forests and lakes...to the prairies! Maybe it's just because I'm from Alberta, but I know that prairie fields should be fairly quiet, with only a slight buzz or hum from insects making noises, and the sound of nearby grasses and crops and faraway trees in the distance swaying in the wind. Not even a lot of bird sounds, except for maybe an occasional caw or few from a crow or magpie, and only now and then a chirpy robin or other bird chiming in.
There are hell lot of techniques for colour restoration. The colour isn't accurate but is judged from the contrast created by black and white. Plus there is AI which can do a lot of work. Some of them are not actual colours, its an estimation
In the video "Info" section there needs to be a TOC/Index so that viewers can simply go straight to the Region that may be relevant to them or any research they may be conducting, rather than have to sift through the entire video. e.g. " 1:09 Toronto - The Queen City" All they will need to do then is click on the time link in blue (UA-cam automatically links all time references)
The only sad thing about this video is next year its been 100 years its good to look back on it but the people we are looking at.......there probably dead or going to be very soon time has changed and now what happened not to long ago for some still alive is about to be a memorie but hopefully we can keep these videos for a long time so there something to show they where once hear
This is amazing :O Would you mind if I use these clips for a big documentary on Québec I am producing? I would link back to your channel in a references document of course so people could find these amazing clips on their own.
It's more like the other way around, everyone is well suited and looked so classy... Not like today with people and their joggers, they used to keep their pyjamas at home back then
Today has no style at all. These are well dressed people and clothing was very diverse. Keep in mind that this was colorized by AI. And everybody definitely did not wear a suit, as shown in this video.

It's pretty sad how most of the city centres through Canada have lost most of their beautiful old buildings.

In 1925 my grandmother was 25, and my grandfather was 21. It's quite interesting to see how Canada looked through their eyes at that time.
Are they alive.. because if they are God give them more of a Long lasting life

Nice movie, old times but goldies! ❤️
Thank you!
Canada, beautiful and clean, as always.
Greetings from Brazil.
glad to have canada as our neighbor country ❤️🙏
Good one! I’ve been across our country numerous times, but never in 1925.
Quite the memorabilia when Nature's produce were healthier for the human body ...
Winnipeg looks like a mini chicago with all of the 10-15 floor terracota/stone buildings .
the old world is so similar, even in a time when architects did not know each other. strange.
Love how there hats don't fall of 👌 this is just amazing to watch

And what now?
It's FILM, not video. They're not the same technologies at all.
Illegal alcohol smuggling was very common in those days and this is how many people get rich.

why I hear Mandarin at 2:32 the accent is from Beijing
There was no sound in these films. They used samples.
