- Is the Kelvin Timeline Intel Dreadnought Cruiser still a good ship to using in the current start of the game? In this vid go over my phaser cannon Kelvin Dreadnought build and how it performs in a PUG ISA.

This ship is a beast in combat and easily one of my favorites in the game.
How did you get it
@@Khilontre22 It comes from the tier 6 ship choice pack which you can get by opening Infinity lock boxes. You can also complete the event campaign to get the choice pack.

I still love it. Probably spent more time in this ship than any other. You just feel like a juggernaut flying this thing
I use the Legendary Intel Konnie which is the baby sister of this ship purely for looks, but this Dreadnought is still a superior force to be reckoned with. Also, there's a ship tailor bug where you may see some Intel Dreads look super huge. Those are the people that got this ship early on when it first came out. The newer ones are much smaller, but same stats and layout.
My thing with running ships like this is that I like to use the weapons that the ship itself uses either in the movies/TV shows, or how the AI ships use it. So no matter what, I always run a full set of phaser emitters lol
That's cool, themed builds are awesome! At the end of the day it's all about having fun and enjoyment! That is all that matters!

Yeah me too. Kinda bummed out that the Kelvin Phasers are just meh.
I appreciate your videos, very helpful. Ive have quite a few ships , mostly the alien vessels. I've decided it was time to get an actual enterprise looking ship for once and why not this beauty. Loved it in the movie, love it even more in game. I'm surprised how well it moves with the prevailing engines.
I had originally scoured the net looking for a build and went with a spiral disruptor BO build I read and yeah it was worse then my Tzen-tar torp. Saw this video and since I had most of the items, just missing one of the star ship traits and Weaponized Helical consoles, I'm excited to get this running soon as I run the quest to pick up another Turret for the aft. The best I can do for the Helical is use Power Dispersal channel console, 10% Crit Severity, just missing that 15% phaser dmg unless you have a suggestion. I just figured getting the crit severity to 200% would be better off then 15% phaser dmg since my critH is about the same.

Awesome build, after taking a couple years break from the game I returned and attacked it hard lol working on a similar build with my Dread, im competent about most of the items now but still heres a noob question; what Deflector, warp drive, and shields are you using lol :D
It’s 2023. And this is still a great ship with surgical strikes. Kid of does everything pretty competently. I fly this and the legendary excelsior all the time.
With your Crit Chance and Intel Agent Attache, do you really find the Conn Officer/EPtE that useful. Seems whenever I need Evasive Maneuvers, it's ready.
Yes, I still find it to be needed, at least for me, even with Intel Attache.

Now onto the rest of the video.
I just got this ship from completing the event, got the Aakar's Vengeance Universal Console which isn't bad but my goal was the 1,500 Lobi Crystals so I could get this from the Lobi store. I have not regretted it, while I'm far from this build I've already replaced alot of the weaponry I was using and focused on Phaser Heavy Cannons and turrets. I dont have any of the consoles here but I been getting those tactical consoles that boost Phaser damage until I can and I boosted my phaser damage from 500 to 1,000. With 5 fore weapons and the aft weapons being turrets this ship does massive damage. I can't wait to get it up to full power with all epic gear. Would def recommend this ship for anyone's first Tier 6.

@@nomenomeha30anosatras33 The event campaign is over. You'd have to buy out all the events to get it I think.
Hmm, maybe my audio on this new headset is bad, but the sound is a little low for your voice. Also, Ruin of Our Enemies would have been better than Cold Hearted, which isn't working the same on anything but FAW.

I'm curious; if you're not using both torp spreads, why not include tactical team?
Tac team as been known to cause firing cycle interruptions so I just don't use it.
@@MCStu Ah I see! So by using it you could miss a couple cycles each time, and as a result drop your dps instead of boosting it.

Unfortunately When I first started the game I created an Engineering Captain so because of that I'm not allowed to us "A Good Day to Die" as a Personal Space Trait. What would you recommend as a replacement? Also because I chose Alien I have a 10th Trait so what would you recommend for the 10th? I am working on a Tactical Alien Captain but will be a while before I can get it up to what I've done on the Engineering Captain over the last year. I wish STO would allow us to change professions especially with all the money I have already sunk into the Engineer over the last year.
Maybe Tarren Targeting and adaptive offence.
@@MCStu I have the Terran Targeting slotted. I have everything you mentioned slotted except for A Good Day to Die because Engineering is not allowed to use it. I have the Adaptive Offense which I just slotted for the 10th slot. I just need something to replace A Good Day to Die. Also until I can get the Weapon Emitter Overdrive what would be a good temporary replacement?

For some reason, mine shows purple Impulse engines, as if I've the Jem Hadar engines equipped - but my character doesn't have these.
Is there an Iso Mag version of this build?
I have this with radiant antiproton beams and ba’ul refraction kinda wanted it as a tank but not sure the best way to go about it fed tac toon
With the intel specialization upgrade and vanguard specialist trait this is still one of the best ships and pretty easy to get even for a FTP character. It also a very versatile ship can use cannons and beams and it can be used as a tank.

One of the reasons I love it is that it's a giant dreadnought but it handles like a cruiser.
I sill use one in 2023, its my favorite ship. Im just trying to do an antiproton build but its hard because you need so much power transfer rate on any build for that ship.
The only problem I have with this ship is just how thin the nacelle pylons are. They just don't look like the can safely support the nacelles and don't suit the bulkiness of the rest of the ship

You really ought to consider ditching the ZPE for the Hydrodynamics Compensator/Heavy Bio-Molecular Turret 2 piece combo.
ZPE is inferior to almost all other rep consoles TBH.

I don't mean any offence here, but man its weird to me to see people putting together builds like this with this much damage and then playing this way when literally none of the content in the game requires even 1/10th this much damage to complete easily.
Builds like this trivialize all available space content to the point where you spend more time in loading screens than actually playing the content lol.
I don't disagree, but it really comes down to how and why you play the game. These are most definitely over kill for story/mission content. But I play mission for the story not the action and my builds are for team PVE which is the majority of want I do. So no offence taken, there is not a right or wrong way to play the game, all that matters is that you are having a good time doing it.
@@MCStu Totally get what you mean, also understand its cool to see just how far you can push systems in a game as well and these builds are certainly pushing the bounds of what is possible that's for sure.
Its fun to watch the planning and such as well, see how the pieces fit together, so that's appreciated even from someone like me who flies mostly old busted up ships out of nostalgia!
This is admittedly a bit true, but on the other hand the game design leans towards your personal PvE power fantasy and space barbie, so that's pretty much all that can be considered 'endgame'.
So it is actually relevant I'd say.
So I just started using the Terran core too over the preeminent tzenceth warp core. That said i feel like I'm not as durable. i mean my weapon cost on an arbit duel beam bank overload build is down to 8 per overload and 5.7 per standard volley. But i don't feel like the damage changed awful much for the loss in defense. Infact I feel that way about the Lorca console taking up a tac spot. Thoughts? Im at a cross roads in my build lol
If you would like to post a pic of you build in discord we can take a look. The Lorca console is no question a best in slot item the terran core is definitely better the the tzenceth core, with that being say there are many other factors that will contribute to the results you are seeing, such as, other consoles, traits, skill tree.....
@@MCStu yea sure ill look into it later. I mean i hit around 35k consistently but its always been around there. And on an advanced its a little less like 21-28k..idk how to hit the 70k or 80k some people get lol
what is pug isa mean?
ISA is a TFO in the game, pug is a term for random team.
Why didn't you slot domino ?
Domino it an excellent console and would be more then appropriate for this build. I didn't slot it, nor the DPRM because them main benefits of both of these consoles are their clickies, their passive are good too, but is was after max Crit. The consoles I used were chosen purely for your passives on this build and not for their clicky. Again just to be clean, using Domino and or the DPRM is a very good choose for this build. I just choose to go a different direction with this one.

The mechanics and consoles are the same....
Use delta flyers you can only lunch 4 but they are stronger and last longer.
Still good in 2022....beam overload build or clicky consoles for the more tv experience

All lobi store, but some isolynic plasma can get from exchange and altimid, but lobi sets are the best.

I'm really wondering, why even such pro-gamers like MC Stu dont take a use of the synergie of trait "Supercharged Weapons" and elite scorpion fighter in hangar bay.
Supercharged Weapons is being used on this build. Also I found that the Kelvin Timeline Assault Drone did the most DPS, at least for me.
@@MCStu The pets aint doing any noticeable damage in any case (in a non carrier build). But these romulan pets are proccing superchraged weapons for you, on your ship.

@@MCStu Not to finish an elite TFO I was exaggerating, but no one uploads vids with less than 400k dps.
@@needparalegal I agree, but 95% of players in the game do less then 100K and are having fun. These videos are for those plays for the most part.... I can upload vids doing 500K plus but that is not helpful to 95% of the player base which is who I am focusing on. I could do some high end build vids but there are already guys out there Like Augmented Dictator, who are much better then me at that doing it.
