do you guys drift or anchor? If you drift, how often do you have to reposition to avoid rubbing jetty rocks or something? I have a dinghy I fish with in Newport Harbor or Catalina depending on if we can tow it over with the bigger boat. Your videos have been a huge help to get me refreshed on rigs for the area after not fishing for a few years. Used your tip about catching barracuda with large blue jerkbait to catch one just outside the harbor about 500 yards south of the jetty on July 5th.
Hi there. Glad that my videos have been helpful. Those Barracuda love those trolled jerkbaits! There is a lot of adjustments as we drift. You have to consider tidal movement and the wind. I have a video explaining how to drift. I think it's Using the tide tables to improve your fishing results. I'll find it and send the link. Thanks for the good words!🙂👍
Love the videos! Im from the area and Ive seen in some of your videos that you use mussels as bait. Do you buy these mussels, or do you collect them? Where can I find them?
@@maxdelatorre2243 I usually get them from the underside of floating docks. There are several public docks in Newport Harbor. The other thing is that you can usually only get the mussels off the rocks at low tide. Hope that helps.🙂
Nice fish 🔥💯👍🎣
Catch you next time!
Thanks man! 😊👍

Hi Keith! I'll tell you what, I was stressing the whole time..lol. Had some luck on my side.🙂👍

That's a nice Halibut! Awesome job getting that in on 6lb test!
Yes, had to baby that fish the entire time. Glad he wasn't hooked deep, otherwise he probably would have bit through the line.

@@anglertoanglerfishing6652 yeah bro luck was on your side that was a nice fish. Just trying to figure exactly where that was !
@@Diegolasca.84 I caught it in the channel between the jetties.
DUDE!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍
Got a good one! 😁
that was FUUn Made My Day!!!
Thanks man! That's my biggest Halibut ever caught. Pretty stoked!
What you think
About penn battle 3 10 foot pole for surf, jetty and docks
10 ft is probably ok for the surf and jetty. It's a bit much for the docks. I prefer a 6-7 ft for most of my harbor fishing.👍
What day was this? I think i might have seen you guys? I was at the end of the jetty.
It was yesterday. Saturday.
Love the videos! Im from the area and Ive seen in some of your videos that you use mussels as bait. Do you buy these mussels, or do you collect them? Where can I find them?
You can collect them off the docks or at low tide from the rocks and pilings.
Thanks for the good words! Appreciate it! 👍
@@anglertoanglerfishing6652 what rocks do you go to? I drove around looking for potential areas with mussels but couldn’t really find much

excellent job on the halibut. The 34" is amazing. Never seen one that large in the harbor.
Thanks! I was pretty happy with that. Biggest Halibut I've ever caught!
I hear you. Biggest one I've ever caught. I guess we get lucky once in a while.👍🙂
Awesome day guys!
