Funny, the 06 Forester I picked up for free (needed an alignment to be drivable...) has a reconstruct title, with the passenger side of the vehicle being where most of the body damage is, and also the side that has an oil leak. HG were done, including a new cylinder head on the left side a year before I got it, so I'm hoping that's not the problem. I will give the valve covers a close look. Thanks for the video!
Same Exact issue on my 06 L.L. Bean Forester. Was thinking it was oil cooler gasket. My vehicle was totaled at one time on passenger side and frankesteined. This is what it is, leaks onto my exhaust as well. Now I know for sure, good looking out from east TN.
I considered JB for the fix. I've been waiting on a used cover, should be early this week. The turbo oil return on the wagon goes to the valve cover and the fitting is JB welded in place. Get a look at it when I pull the motor out.
@ 3:12 where your hand is.. well right where the yellow gear oil dipstick is I have a leak right behind down the dipstick down below on the rubber gaskets of clear oil .. any help would be appreciated ..
@@HomebrewSubaru yes now on top of the transmission there's 2 vent overflow hoses that i found that i think the oil is coming from and dripping down the side of transmission onto the exhaust .. Not sure if you've seen those rubber hoses before but they are the size of a straw ..
@@HomebrewSubaru ok cool. I drive a 2000 subaru legacy gt limited same color as yours. Now that i remember i patched up a lose transmission line earlier this year. And was adding more quarts of transmission oil every other day i just found 4 empty transmission bottles in my trunk lol
@@HomebrewSubaru would you know if there is supposed to be a breather on those little straw sized vent hoses ? Do you have that on your subaru transmission?

I have the same issue on my 2000 Forester... I’ll check the valve cover. Thank you
Update me if you can
Easy fix be happy it's not headgasket.

What is the cost of a valve cover gasket replacement?
Mighty Mods chopped?
Is that piston slap in that bad boy?
It's fairly quiet... for a 10 year old Subie. My Forester slaps like there is a problem when it's cold.

That is another strange oil leak. The leak is under the air box, closer to the transmission?

@@myyoutubechannel3161 If the oil is coming from a vent line, possible cause is the case is overfilled. Double check the fluid level
