Short Afternoon Prayer I
Most glorious God,
As I pause in the midst of this day,
I invite You into this moment of prayer.
Once again, I dedicate this day to You.
I pray for humility, kindness, temperance, charity, chastity, diligence and patience.
Help me, Lord, to listen to Your gentle voice
And to trust in Your guidance and grace.
My life is Yours, dear Lord.
My life is Yours.
May I hold nothing back from You.
May I fulfill my duties this day in accord with Your perfect will.
I love You, dear Lord.
I love You with all my heart.
Help me to love You and others with all my might.
Amen.
Short Afternoon Prayer II
Lord, thank You for my safety and protection. I return all the glory to You.
Lord, I thank You for the gift of life. You have not allowed the devil to triumph over me.
Lord, I ask for forgiveness of my iniquities. Wash me clean with Your precious blood and redeem my soul back to You.
Lord, I ask for the protection of my family, relatives and friends.
Lord, I ask for guidance for the remaining part of the day. Let Your Holy Spirit direct all I will do today.
Lord, I ask for your blessings. Let everything I touch bring blessings to me.
Amen.

Lord God, Thank you for the morning, for watching over me and walking with me.
May I find rest and peace this afternoon in all I do, that I may gather strength to work for You until nightfall. Amen.
(for Forgiveness)
I ask Your pardon for any way that I have failed to love today.
For my pride, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, sloth and anger,
I beg for Your forgiveness. Amen.
(for Providence)
Dear Lord,
Your wind woke me this morning. Your hand has kept me till now.
I rely on Your grace to see me through the day. That my lips may render praise when the night is come. Amen.
(for Help)
Morning is done, it’s been Your help. Grant me grace and strength and courage to continue in the rest of the day.
Half the day is gone, spent in toil and sweat. Help now oh Lord that my gruel may yield fruit and my labour, prosperity.
And when night comes I’ll remember You helped me and return all praise to You. Amen.

I commit this afternoon to you Lord, knowing I’m safe in your arms.
I thrust myself completely to you and pray my day ends in good success. Amen.
(for Courage)
While I pursue my daily labour this afternoon, grant me courage in difficulty, grant me perseverance in toil. Crown my day with the success that I may smile when the day is done. Amen.
(for Guidance)
Your hand navigates me through the paths of life. I’ve seen It time and again. I pray now oh Lord, this afternoon, kindly make my ways straight. Kindly light my path. Lead me by your right hand. Don’t let my day end in grief.
You anchored me through the morning, please guide me as night comes.
May you guide me in your will as I continue in my day. Let all I think and do be a sweet smelling savour to You. Amen.

Dear Lord, Grant me forbearance that I may end this day with courage. Grant me wisdom to answer appropriately every question of life. Grant me strength and see me through this day. Amen.

Mark a straight road for me that I may follow. Be a light unto my path as you’ve promised. Help me this afternoon that I may find peace in my labour. Amen.
