I was curious if the Eheim is has an adjustable flow so I looked on their website and on Amazon and neither seemed to mention the adjustability of the pump so I was about to pay double for an adjustable pump. Now after watching your review I know I can go with the Eheim. Thanks for posting a solid review of the skimmer!
Excellent review! Thank you so much for doing this. I've been looking for a tool to use to help clean up my Monte Carlo and hair grass. It seems like I can sit there with the net for an hour and still not get everything. Even though most of my tanks have skimmers on them. This will still be a great tool for maintenance day.
Great question. Yes it does remove oils. It’s not necessary but I personally added a little bit of polyfil just for a lil extra strength but I do that in every filter I own for improved clarity

You’re very welcome!!! Glad I could be of assistance!
Tip: you can add some filter floss in the top, i helps to keep out large particles and small fish.
Good tip!
It doesn’t do anything for surface scum though.
@TH3Nx I gotta disagree. Been running them now for 5+ years and that’s literally what I use them for lmao

Thank you for watching!! I love this skimmer! Does fantastic quick work of anything floating on the surface
Finally, something that will for the fluval spec v
Yes!
would you recommend this for flow in a planted tank? I usually remove surface scum with a pitcher takes less than 30 seconds
Absolutely would recommend this in a planted tank 100%
Thank you for the video. Helped make my mind up !!
You’re welcome!
Can i put filter floss in it ?
Yes you can! Does wonders to do so!
A fantastic appliance, how many times a month is it convenient to clean?
Helps oxygenate water.
Good work.
I would say weekly. The sponge is very small so it does fill up rather quickly.
@@AquatikGuru I agree, I still like the efficiency, a nice addition to your aquarium.
best one i have used
Couldn’t agree more
Does it remove oils? Would a special type of sponge be needed for that?

Thanks for the reply. Ordering on Amazon now 👍
I would suggest to move the skimmer behind the big rock, it takes away from your scape
Typically I just put it in for a few minutes then take it out
The skimmer works well in your aquarium
I agree!
