The recent brutal rape and murder of a female postgraduate trainee doctor in Kolkata shocked the medical fraternity across India, sparking a nationwide outrage.
This tragic incident has heightened concerns about the safety of healthcare professionals and the rising violence they face. Campus in the memory of the victim, and raise awareness against violence towards healthcare professionals, demanding justice for the victim.
With slogans like ‘Protect the hands that heal’ and ‘When the white coat turns red, society turns black’, the students expressed their grief, solidarity & unwavering determination to fight for the safety of doctors.
The protest calls for the swift implementation of the Central Medical Professional Safety Act, ensuring
that no doctor ever has to bleed for doing the most noble of deeds.
However, doctors across the country, including the budding medicos at SRMS IMS, Bareilly have united in protest, spelling a clear message that this time, the assault on doctors will not go unnoticed.
