    This approach is amazing! Following your stuff completely changed my focus and though initially finding I had to step back in posture “depth,” the mobility I’ve gained since is completely different than what I got pulling myself into positions. The pause for inhale and extend for exhale approach has a profound effect. Liberating letting go of the exterior muscles and focusing on spine extensions

    Great at home practice! I loved the reminder to let it be. “Don’t fight it. It will be what it is!”👍🏼

      Thank you! I'm so glad that resonated with you. It's amazing what can happen when we step back and allow our practice to unfold naturally. Keep embracing that mindset, and I'm sure you'll continue to discover even more about your body and its capabilities. Looking forward to seeing you in the next session! 🌟🧘‍♀

      At home I can practice over and over, than just trying to keep up with the instructor. I have been practicing it for so long, but now learning to exhale correctly. Instructors should know that when students face is up cannot see what the instructor is doing
      😅. Maybe divide in part one and two and do it slowly with less poses.

      Dynamic Breath Control is the only way! It is how the body naturally breathes during dominant movements, such as kicking the ball or hitting a ball with a tennis racket. The exhale is when the body is able to deliver maximum power without the resistance of body tension. Plus, without tension, there is less wear and tear on the joints. 💪

    I love your practice. I like the clock and your directions. I find it motivating to practice with someone who isn't 20 years old and extremely limber.

      Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoy the practice and find the clock and directions helpful. After many years of selecting my most limber student when filming video tutorials, I realised such thinking doesn't help the average person.

      I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the class! It's wonderful that you found it to be a great resource for a quick morning fix before starting your day. Practising for years in a hot studio really sets a strong foundation, and these shorter sessions can be a perfect way to maintain that momentum and keep your practice consistent.
      Thank you for your kind words, and keep up the great work with your yoga journey! If you have any questions or need further guidance, feel free to reach out🙏

    I like this, kind of amazing how much b.y. i forgot. Next time maybe make the "change" countdown sound a lighter mid frequency chime?

      Thanks for your feedback, and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying rediscovering your practice with us! We appreciate your suggestion about the "change" countdown sound. A lighter, mid-frequency chime sounds like a lovely idea to maintain the flow and serenity of the session. We'll definitely consider this for our future classes to enhance the overall experience. Looking forward to having you join us again soon! 🎶🧘‍♀✨

    Nice class, however, Please disable ads on a yoga video, it’s most irrelevant and please explain what is sohort breathing.

    • @Sohot_Yoga
      @Sohot_Yoga  Рік тому

      Similar to sports and dance, I incorporate dynamic breath control, where movement is synchronized with exhalation. During exhalation, the body naturally releases tension, allowing your inner strength to coordinate body movement effortlessly ( like kicking or throwing a ball ).
      Once you enter the holding phase of a posture, I introduce Sohot Breathing. During each exhalation, the focus is on relaxing all superficial muscles while engaging your inner core strength to fully expand and open the chest, resembling a puffer fish or a peacock opening its feathers. "Relax and Open" is the mantra. The more relaxed you are, the more powerful you become, enabling you to hold any posture with ease without struggling.
      Thank you for your comment and question.
      Sorry, I don't seem to be able to disable ads.
      Bill

    Your directions helped my body open up more by not forcing

    • @Sohot_Yoga
      @Sohot_Yoga  9 місяців тому

      I'm thrilled to hear that! It's fantastic that you're feeling the benefits of not forcing your body and allowing it to open up naturally. Keep up the great work, and remember, every breath you take is an opportunity to deepen that connection with your body. Keep exploring what feels good and let your exhale guide you. This sounds easy, and it is, but I still find it extremely challenging. Happy practicing! 🧘‍♂💫

    i just did your class. how do you expand the ribcage on an exhale?

    • @Sohot_Yoga
      @Sohot_Yoga  8 місяців тому +1

      You’ve asked a great question! Expanding the ribcage on an exhale can feel a bit tricky at first, but with practice, it becomes more natural. Here's a simple exercise to help you get the hang of it:
      Understand the Mechanics: When you engage in any dynamic movements like kicking a ball or throwing a punch, your body naturally expands the chest during exhalation to maintain stability and balance. This action helps release built-up tension and deliver maximum power.
      Simple Practice Exercise:
      1) Find a Comfortable Seat: Sit upright in a chair with your eyes closed.
      2) Inhale Deeply: Take a deep breath in, feeling your chest expand as your lungs fill with air.
      3) Exhale Slowly: As you start to exhale, first focus on releasing tension from your body. Continue exhaling and consciously drive your chest up, away from your hips, while expanding it out to the sides. Feel your spine elongate.
      Stay Relaxed: Don’t force the movement. Practice this gently a few times, noticing how your body naturally relaxes while maintaining a sense of power.
      Professional athletes often use breathing exercises to enhance their performance and prevent injury, so you're on the right track by focusing on this aspect of your practice.
      I hope this helps! Keep practising, and you'll find it gets easier and more effective over time. You will also notice improvements in your stamina, coordination, power and control in your yoga practice. Bill

    For a meditative practice, there are way too many advertisements; mostly in the middle of a position being counted down.
