How did i go 54 yrs without hearing this mans beautiful singing! Just love this! Praise the Lord for men and women who use their gifts to glorify Him!❤✝️🙏🙌💧💔♥️
@BnCSGMusic LOL. The first time my family saw him was two weeks after he had joined the Cathedral Quartet. We were disappointed when Kirk didn't walk onstage, but that lasted only until Danny opened his mouth to sing. We were diehard fans from that moment. Saw him when he filled in for Ernie with the Cats in the 90's. It was so awesome! Glen and Danny blew the breakers in the Coliseum on the ending of We Shall See Jesus and the crowd went nuts! AWESOME!!!
Danny's father Bill actually wrote this song many years ago. I know this because I went to church with him. Danny first recorded it with the Singing Americans when he was with that group. It's a beautiful song.
i first head the song in the early 80s The singing Americians sang it. I just left a church a few moments ago and Reggie Sallers fammily was singing it too. Awsome i didnt realize Danny wrote it.
The Heartland Boys did the background vocals for this recording. Just a bit of trivia. Gotta say, the theology is SOLID in this song. And I've personally seen several "African/American people enjoy this song. It's speaking about the matters of the heart, not the skin color. How anyone can make a racial issue out of that is beyond me. This is an incredible song. Sound Biblically and well written!
@moproducer Give the Al Sharpton act a rest, won't you? "Way off base" is an understatement for your comments. Isaiah 1:18 says, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." If any people - black, yellow, green or purple - have a problem with this song, then they have a problem with the Word of God, my friend.
@BnCSGMusic This was recorded before the Royals came into existence. I was at the same TV studio with Perfect Heart. George Amon was the one who told me they did the background vocals for this.
Great song and even greater theology! Reading these comments I am shocked to see that anyone in their right mind would consider the phraseology “whiter than snow” to be racist! This world has certainly gone mad.
@moproducer I do understand. White as snow doesn't mean the color of your skin. It means your soul. It's not a bad attempt at theology, it's very good theology.
@tam1026 If you have ever heard the Royals version of this song, same track, and same backup. Danny on tenor, and Keith Plott on bass. It's obvious if you have that album.
@tam1026 Not correct. Danny did this when he was with the Royals. If you listen closely to the first Chorus, you can hear danny on the tenor part, just like he did it with the Royals. And then Jason on the next Chorus, just like the Royals again.
@tam1026 Hmm. it was before he really got into his solo stuff i believe and that was late 90's. So, my guess would be around 97 or 98. just a rough guess though.
@tam1026 No offense, but you could not be any more wrong sir. I have the exact CD of the Royals with this song on it, and the same backgrounds. And if need be, i could just get a hold of Danny and ask him. I know with 100 percent confidence, it was the Royals.
@moproducer Then why would they sing a song, with the same exact name? It has the same exact theology in it, and the same message. Just different words.
@BnCSGMusic Lol. No offense taken. And no need to get a hold of Danny. There are more important things to worry about. ;) Wouldn't be the first time that George and Jonathon would be wrong.
Will God bless people for selling sacred song performances? Freely ye have received, now freely also give it says in the bible...i hope this singer sings for love, not money like so many do and live like kings off of it. Oh TREMBLE & LIVE HOLY ALL WHO NAME THE NAME OF JESUS AS THEIR GOD & SAVIOR!
To moproducer: Why are you trying to make this a "Racist" song? I have been in Congregations of Black folks, I have been in mixed Congregations. All have sung the old hymn: "Whiter than snow, yes whiter than snow. Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." Just as this song says, it's a matter of your soul. God don't see Black or White, He sees your heart. No disrespect, but I think you need to spend time in prayer and get your heart right.
I just love how the non Christians say the "Christians" should read there bible more. Then get proved wrong like u just did saying the Jesus never argued hahaha
@Osceola007 It's amusing when Christians tell me how wrong I am, then quickly backup and tell me not to judge them for telling me how wrong I am. You seem to be an intelligent person. Think about it...this is no way to convert people; especially those who use their brains. I've read the Bible several times (& several versions) and I never saw Jesus argue with anyone. For that matter, much of his commentary was in the form of a question. Try being more like Jesus?
@moproducer hahaha...when did i ever say that you have to believe my way?...your the one saying we shouldn't say "whiter than snow"...your the one being judgmental...when did i say the moses was a "christian"?...that has nothing to do with the argument hahaha....once again your missing the point...i love when non-believers think they know more about the bible than me...i'm going ask AGAIN, should we say "blacker than snow"???
@Osceola007 You sound just like most Christians I've met, telling me what I can and can't believe. In the words of Mark Twain, "I'd try Christianity if it weren't for Christians". By the way, it's interesting that you'd bring Moses into your argument...he wasn't a Christian!
@moproducer i'm not trying to prove that your a loser, but don't attack us christians whitout us defending ourselves...i just don't like when people judge christians with their experiences with other christians...its not about religion but a personal relationship between you and the Lord...i pray that you will find it someday...but sorry if i offended you or anything
@Osceola007 I really don't care what you "christians" sing, if you want to be greener than grass, go for it. If this is about winning the argument (something you people always have to do, apparently) OK...I give. You win. Do you feel better now? Did you just do something great for Jesus by laughing at me, trying hard to be the winner and prove I'm the loser? Is that what this Jesus stuff is all about? I'll take politics over religion any day.
I understand the bad attempt at good theology, but I can't imagine someone singing this song in a black congregation (I'd bet the audience being entertained here is all white). Some of those good ol' songs reflect an exclusivity that we need to leave in the past.

I love this song, especially when Danny sings it.
An expert would have a time telling them apart !!!!!!1 JUST BY LOOKING ,DIG DEEPER !!!!!!!
One of my favorite songs. Heard him at the Fort Mill, SC Church of the Nazarene. Loved the Singing Americans also.
i first head the song in the early 80s The singing Americians sang it. I just left a church a few moments ago and Reggie Sallers fammily was singing it too. Awsome i didnt realize Danny wrote it.

@BnCSGMusic This was recorded before the Royals came into existence. I was at the same TV studio with Perfect Heart. George Amon was the one who told me they did the background vocals for this.
It was Danny Funderburk, Ivan Parker, Ed Hill, dwayne Burk The group was singing americians
@moproducer ya maybe we should sing blacker than snow, which makes perfectly since...hahaha
@BnCSGMusic I've heard it. Had to! I'm the biggest Danny Funderburk fan! lol
Great song and even greater theology! Reading these comments I am shocked to see that anyone in their right mind would consider the phraseology “whiter than snow” to be racist! This world has certainly gone mad.
Wondering if anybody had a video of Danny singing "The LifeBoat". I have the recording he did with the Royals around 1999 I believe.
I have never heard that song before. Please post it
@moproducer I do understand. White as snow doesn't mean the color of your skin. It means your soul. It's not a bad attempt at theology, it's very good theology.

@BnCSGMusic Yes, I know the old spiritual. And you're absolutely right, you don't understand.
@tam1026 Haha. If you get a chance to get that Royals CD(if you don't have it that is) get it! it's one amazing CD!
@tam1026 Hmm. it was before he really got into his solo stuff i believe and that was late 90's. So, my guess would be around 97 or 98. just a rough guess though.
@moproducer Theres an old hymn that has the same name, and I've seen black people sing it. I don't know what your problem with the song is.
@tam1026 No offense, but you could not be any more wrong sir. I have the exact CD of the Royals with this song on it, and the same backgrounds. And if need be, i could just get a hold of Danny and ask him. I know with 100 percent confidence, it was the Royals.
@tam1026 That actually may have not been in the 90's. May have been in the 00's. I'm old and forgetful... lol
IS HE THE ONE WHO WORKED AT THE FISH PLACE ON NEW HOPE ROAD ???????
@moproducer Then why would they sing a song, with the same exact name? It has the same exact theology in it, and the same message. Just different words.
i spelled the last name wrong on the last post Reggie Saddler is what i meant .
Ohh sorry should i put that in a form of a question ??
@BnCSGMusic Lol. No offense taken. And no need to get a hold of Danny. There are more important things to worry about. ;) Wouldn't be the first time that George and Jonathon would be wrong.
Danny's dad wrote this song.
@tam1026 I'll give you a run for your money on that one. (; haha
Did Danny's first wife pass with cancer after this appearance?
