This is different than anything else I’ve heard from Kishi. Less experimental and more mature and relaxed. No better or worse mind you. Just different. Kishi if you see this thank you for sharing your journey with us.

sorry to hear about that, hope you found a cool new position somewhere! If you're still looking for this kind of sound I'd look up indie pop and folk / dreampop / shoegaze. Maybe check out Other Lives, Doc Robinson and Lord Huron if you didn't know them yet :)

Kishi Bashi makes wonderful music, but let's give The Shins a shoutout here, the intro to this song has no doubt been derived from New Slang - still a great song don't get me wrong, but credit where credit is due !
