    I think people too often attribute to personal qualities what is better explained by systemic ramifications.

      That is absolutely true. No one ever made $100 Billion off of hard work. They became aware of the system and used it in their favor and changed it towards more of their favor.

      almost like there is more than 1 factor -> randomness is a useless measure though. Many many many rich people are rich because they contributed, and many many poor people are poor because they are useless, and many many many people are somewhere in between
