So Logan. Do you have a spare bedroom? I really want to come spend a week with you on that pond! It reminds me of my favorite place to fish when I lived in CT. I now live in NC and every place around where I live is privately owned or you have to have a boat, which I don't have. That drone shot at 2:55 is a "short" that's got "viral" potential!!! Everyone who fishes for bass seems to like topwater the best. So much fun! That's actually the first method for catching bass I learned. Back in the summer of 1979 on that lake in CT. Arbogast Hula Popper, Jitterbug and my favorite, a Sputterbug. Blessings!

Just my opinion, but I'd be going to bet that using that rat lure woodwork so much better later in the evening say like dusk till dark and maybe even later as long as the bass can see them. Rats are more nocturnal, so it's probably a risk for them anyway, at night time, and they probably know it!
