    Expensive art supplies are better in quality, but cheaper is a great choice if your on a budget or starting as a beginner!

      I'm her defense! While i agree, cheaper ones tend to be way harder in my experience too. So pressing down just rips the paper at some point without giving a lot more pigment.

  • @roshogollah
    @roshogollah Рік тому +220

    For the cheap ones you'd need to press a little harder and you can use acetone/baby oil/olive oil to blend it out better!

    As someone who can only get cheap pencils it's not the price that matters it's how you use it and what you use it on

    • @Getbackduh
      @Getbackduh Місяць тому +2

      Yeh I agree I honestly (my opinion) thought that she was pressing harder on the expensive ones to blend more and lightly on the cheap ones for a different reaction so I think the problem was how she used it

  • @moonorchid9242
    @moonorchid9242 Рік тому +26

    With harder based pencil (less waxy/smooth) you need multiple layers of colour and then burnish them to blend.
    The expensive ones likely have a much softer lead and therefore deposits the colour and blends differently

    Cheap one makes Calligraphy look more pretty because it added some rough texture which is looking pretty good but for the drawing absolutely expensive ones..but if u insert pressure to the cheap ones it will become dark and smooth

    When blending up and down, try to use circle movements instead of straight up and down lines w cheap art supplies bc youre right, but theres a better reason why it looks sketchy. Using darker tones than you expected to as well then blending lighter will help. It doesnt always work this way but for cheap supplies never start light. It already has more wax, making it a less smooth application and seals your wax layers much easier. Dont press harder with cheap at first. Circle movements will save you as they penetrate the teeth of the paper. Diff mediums on paper need different processes

    I know you love posca paint markers but I want to inform you that they are not the only brand that does paint marker. MagicFly has some really good ones, they are not expensive, double sided, and come in soooo many different colors, also are high quality. I have both posca and MagicFly paint markers and I prefer the MagicFly ones. I think this brand is underappreciated and would love to see them in video. Love your channel!!

    Yep both are good but if you put even more time at cheap if you are on a budget it is a helpful one it just takes time and a bit less more pigmentation and the wax different good and friendly for beginners, expensive is like if you seriously take art or just ur budget is wide and a more convenient way to do art, they both have pros and cons either way both are good 👍😊

    I have the cheaper ones, they cost me three pounds (I'm from the up) and they actually blend very well if you press down properly. I'm not a professional by a long way and use baby oil too help it blend more but the cheaper pencils are actually very good quality for the price. I will say that the led does break easily and the pencils themselves do break in half sometimes but that just might be because I have an odd habit of drawing in bed and sitting on them.

      True, but their quite has gone down ...many breaking when you sharpen them...they are still pricey for a cheaper version tho. The best low budget pencils I've found are Crayola twistables for easy laydown and blending. Most colored pencils use layers to get great color saturation...burnishing over marker will eat your paper up.
