Nice video yet again. I don't ship my pole behind ever I use two twin rollers and ship parallel to the canal. I also use a foam float on my landing net head, just easier when stripping on the puller (big chub in Wolvo 😊) foam acts like a third hand until the last second when you scoop.
another great informative video. I would like to add though that maybe if cyclists could give way and be a little more understanding of anglers as they peddle as fast as they can with their Go-pros. The tow path is for everyone but the canals I fish and walk along the cyclists think they own the place, one even last year refused to slow down for a mother with a push chair feeding the ducks, she had to get close to the waters edge and the chair tipped towards the waters edge, he then stopped and shouted verbals at her about what he will do to her. The same cyclist peddled along again the day after at the same time just as I was having a gentle stroll. once again another great video.
Blimey, on the Canal that I fish cyclists and runners don’t even look, let alone duck or stop. As a result I always hook the fish then turn the pole to the side and ship back. That pole hoop was available from Browning as a roller but I don’t know if they are still made, get one as they stop the pole being blown of the roller in high winds! Great tips as well nice to see a wand in use why struggle in a high wind? Lovely video as always. Tight Lines
Easy Fishing I fish on the Shroppy in Wolvo and also run my pole parallel over two rollers or it would be in pieces from cyclists, runners and numpties. I do like the look of that wand though and double No 3 lakky I use Drennan silverfish as we have deep water with bream and chub popping up. I may give that double No 3 a go though this coming year.
Great video Alan, very useful tips, I told many people at the Big One Angling show how useful the Cadence CR10#1 wand was for canals and the is lots of interest in both the new pole and whip from Cadence. Where did you get your hook length box ?.
Hello lads, ive always had a question that i couldnt get a simple yes or no answer on,can you keep fish from cannals?would love some wild species in my pond
Cracking video from Mr Barnes….dead helpful as are all the Cadence videos, especially as they all seem to focus on natural venues.

please check local EA bylaws on what you can and cannot take. We can't condone it, but I dare say some small roach and perch won't be missed🤷♂️
