My father gave me one he got back in 1989 when it first came out. I wish I had the charger for it. I cant seem to find them online. I think it would be amazing to turn it on, or even perhaps take it down to a phone store and see if they will put me on a plan for it.
I like that phone , that version never saw in Argentina with that matrix display but if I have one just like it with 7-segment display , similar TELE TAC 250 or others. Also I have a small collection , mostly from Motorola, and the idea is to put a GMS system within any of them . Greetings from Cordoba, Argentina
i had this phone, its the James bond phone. I used the plastic antenna to stir drink, the flip had such rebound i could flip beer corks on people. and of course if you hit someone with it they could go into a coma
I used to own one of those phones in the 80`s, It was my replacement for the bigger motorola phone, With the big rubber aerial. I used to show people my phone and they used to say, WoW is that a mobile phone can i have a look at it. LOL
The first Motorola Micro TAC is "MicroTAC 9800x" announced in 1989, several months later is announced this one, from my video :D -Motorola Micro TAC-Digital personal communicator, both cell phone's are analog, and they does not use sim card's. Motorola Star TAC is successor of Motorola Micto TAC siries, first announced in 1996, and supports SIM cards. Please watch my video if you want to see sim card :)
Oh...crap, I wanted to buy an used one and get a laugh at the local pub :-P Do you have any knowledge about which MicroTAC/StarTAC is the oldest, who works with a sim card? I want to remind ppl of a simpler time :-P
I have one. I don't have a charger for it but I found it at my grandpas house after passed away. It's really cool.
