I lived on Bomlo back in 1976 while working at the construction yard on Stord, where the Frig and Statfiord platforms were being built. No bridges back then, just a drive down the mountain and ferry to Stord every day. Our landlady's son would take us line fishing around the skerries catching Pala (?). Then we realised that we were catching our own dinner on more than one occasion! We were too busy working to take in much of the scenery but the drive down to the ferry was always interesting. Not so good were the guys seeing pink elephants after drinking home brewed alcohol bought from the locals, with various essences added.
