What an amazing performance! I love how the redheaded violinist in the back was vibing through the entire cadenza like she was in a rock concert, she was literally headbanging at some points. Hahaha
The Violin Concerto No. 1 in A minor, Opus 77, was originally composed by Dmitri Shostakovich in 1947-48. He was still working on the piece at the time of the Zhdanov decree, and in the period following the composer's denunciation it could not be performed. In the time between the work's initial completion and the first performance, the composer, sometimes with the collaboration of its dedicatee, David Oistrakh, worked on a number of revisions. The concerto was finally premiered by the Leningrad Philharmonic under Yevgeny Mravinsky on 29 October 1955. It was well received, Oistrakh remarking on the "depth of its artistic content" and describing the violin part as a "pithy 'Shakespearian' role". Oistrakh characterised the first movement Nocturne as "a suppression of feelings", and the second movement Scherzo as "demoniac". The Scherzo is also notable for an appearance by the DSCH motif-a motif representing Shostakovich himself that recurs in many of the composer's works. Boris Schwarz (Music and Musical Life in Soviet Russia, 1972) commented on the Passacaglia's "lapidary grandeur" and the Burlesque's "devil-may-care abandonment". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Violin_Concerto_No._1_(Shostakovich)
Между Шостаковичем и Альфредом Шнитке есть что то общее - разговор личности и власти на повышенных тонах. Но у Шостаковича драма, а у Шнитке этот разгоаор заканчивается трагедией.
To me: the opening of the Scherzo sounds like children skipping in a playground ... but they're going to grow up to be evil. Can anyone else picture that? Would be a good short movie haha
I. Nocturne 1:30
II. Scherzo 14:05
III. Passcaglia 21:14
IV. Burlesque 35:50
Burlesque -- the best movement!
@@YuYinMelodies I agree! I love it equal to the Scherzo though ;)

Very difficult to play; beautiful interpretation! Brava!

Heart-rendingly beautiful, such sincerity of expression, brings me to tears.
This is the best performance I've ever heard.
Best than Nicola Benedetti or Hilary Hahn?
@@jgbusquets They are different. Bomsori's tone is warm, Hilary's tone is cold

이 곡이 감상하는 입장에서도 다른 유명한 바이올린 협주곡에 비해 이해하기 좀 어려운 편인데 귀에 쏙쏙 들어오는 훌륭한 연주네요!
Amazing

Shostakovich ate heavily before writing this concert. What boring music!
Domus Aurea I feel same way
One of the most complex, stimulating & exciting concertos in existence. Igor Oistrakh called it "a great work", "a deep work". Are you nuts!?
،great job and warming back stage
