Love Saranda, we live Central Belgrade and went during pandemic, the locals want an airport 🛫 understandably, but we liked the fact, it wasn't overrun, due to no airport (fly to Corfu and its 18€ on hydtofoil, takes 20 min.. Eastern Europeans holiday there, its substantially cheaper than Greece etc. Never met 1 Brit in 10 nights, heaven 😂. We swam in it.
@@JayandSarahI think for the Albanians foreigners calling their country cheap might come across as being negative insinuating it is behind other nations in development etc.
Absolutely stunning! I need to visit, considering I have relatives all over Albania, thank you for such an amazing video highlighting unspoken beauty ❤
Excellent video! It is so informative! Thank you! Albania intrigued me but I didn’t know anything about traveling there and I was nervous. I’m planning a trip to Northern Greece and maybe include Corfu. But now that I see that I can go from Corfu to Saranda, Albania maybe I will go there instead 😎 probably take a bus to Gjirokaster. Do you have to go through customs when going from corfu to Sarandë? Thank you again sooo much for this great video!
I think there is a border control when going from Greece to Albania and vice versa (as it's not part of the EU). Gjirokaster is definitely a must-visit!

January isn’t the best time to visit the beaches of Albania as it will can be rainy… but other places like Tirana, Gjirokaster, and Berat are fine (though also can be a bit cold!)
Hi! I'm planning on staying in southern Albania for some days in the beginning of May. Right now my plan is to stay in Saranda for 3 days, Ksamil for 2 days, and then Corfu for 3 days. But I'm still unsure. Maybe you have some recommendations! I'd love to visit beaches, and I like old towns and historic sites. Great video!
Thank you! I'd say Saranda 3 days is enough (also visit Butrint from Saranda). I would skip Ksamil, it's horribly crowded. You could spend more time in Corfu instead. Or visit Gjirokaster and the Blue Eye instead of Ksamil!
Hi guys! Love your content. You make it simple and stunning. Can you please share some more information on transport facilities? We are planning to land in Tirana and after 2 days visit Saranda. What do you suggest as the best means of transport? Also, do you know any portals which can give details about public transport facilities ? Thanks, keep the good work coming ❤️
Thank you! There is a bus to Saranda, which leaves from the North South Albania Bus Terminal (you can take a bus to the terminal or take a taxi from the city center of Tirana - it’s not that far). We bought our ticket when we got to the station. It’s chaotic but people will help you find the ticket booth and bus. There’s at least 6 buses a day or so. You can find the timetable here: www.anitahendrieka.com/albania-bus-timetables/
It definitely will be quiet at that time of the year! But it’s a bit cold still at that time… also might rain. April / May is when the weather generally gets better
Hello! Im going to saranda in a couple weeks, and your boat trip you did looks great, but i can't find anything like it to book 😢 were you able to just get this from the docks? Or did you prebook? Any recommendations?
We didn't prebook the tour. You can just talk to the salesmen at the harbour (there are like 100 different boat companies that offer the tour). Just make sure to talk to a few before making a decision! Not all of them are great;...
No we don’t and also wouldn’t recommend the one we went with! (The boat driver didn’t speak English and was rude). If you head to the pier, you’ll find plenty of boat operators! Maybe look a bit around before you choose one
They all go to the same spots! I think they were called Krorëza Beach and Kakoma Beach. Just talk to the boat tour companies that line the harbor there and compare the prices. It wasn't too expensive (maybe 15-25 US$ each?)
We went with a random one around the boulevard, but wouldn't really recommend them as our captain barely spoke English. Your best bet is to walk around the boulevard and talk to different companies! It was pretty cheap... around 20USD per person if I remember correctly
THere are private taxi that will go, can't remember the cost. The bus is cheap but will be crowded in the summer months. We rented a car very inexpensive. The driving can be a bit chaotic, they don't really follow rules of the road... passing on double yellows, nobody really cares... teh police do it as welll..

Thank you for saying “affordable”. When people say “ cheap” it just sounds bad. Great video. Safe travels friends👍👏🏻✌️🤙🙏

I don't think cheap is a negative connotation at all. By definition it is not. Albania is cheap, you get more than what you pay for.

What time of the year did you visit?
At the end of August & early September! Would recommend September over August as the crowds halved at that time
I went blue eye last year august and people were jumping into the blue eye off a platform I’m assuming that you can’t do that anymore

There is no such thing as Greek city since Chameria is still Albanian under Greek occupation.
