(दुर्गा सप्तसती से देवी सूक्तम)। वह महादेवी हैं जो स्वयं बिग्रह हैं। शक्ति। उनकी शक्ति के बिना कुछ भी नहीं हो सकता। त्रिदेव सहित सभी देवता उनकी पूजा करते हैं। महाभागवत देवी पुराण के अनुसार उनका निवास स्थान दुर्गालोकम है। दुर्गादेवी के विभिन्न स्वरूप हैं, जैसे - जलदुर्गा, अग्निदुर्गा, विष्णुदुर्गा, ब्रम्हादुर्गा, सबरीदुर्गा, हरसिद्धिदुर्गा, जयादुर्गा, मूलदुर्गा, महादुर्गा ( जगतधात्रीदुर्गा), शांतिदुर्गा, आदि। 9 दुर्गा की कई अलग-अलग संरचनाएँ हैं। जिनमें शैलपुत्री से लेकर सिद्धिदात्री तक 9 रूप देवीकवच, दुर्गा सप्तशती में स्पष्ट रूप से बताए गए हैं।
