I’m just glad you waited a year to separate. Most people Separate before they even mature or start forming and then wonder why their hair is thin or have no unique form or Congos.
You Still got Congos so I’m here for it! I’m on my third freeform set, heading into month 5 next month. Let’s Grow!! 🖤
- also what’s up with the music, let’s link. Drop an email.
Hi, I started roughly 5 days ago but I also see decent progress at least imo but i wanted to ask some stuff since you're quite the veteran!
On normal days without wash do you just wet your hair, or can you touch/ help them get into the position (I use my hand to guide it clockwise)?
Could I also get any more advice if you have any?
@@Okey.O Unfortunately I cut them off back in December cause they were high top locs and I wanted to switch to blowout or full head, but when I stopped i was already roughly 9 months in
My locs were not that bad, but I was free forming so they weren't that long or proper, my locs were probably around 2 to 3 inches, and near the end I was focused on separating, that also was about when my first loc started to hang while dry.
Adjusting the thickness you have to either separate when they start getting too thick for your liking or go to a loctician (which i wouldn't since i was free forming back then)
My hair was building a mini afro under my locs as well which means to get longer locs you have to practically wait for them to loc up like when they first did (or go to a loctician)
If you have anything you wanna specifically ask ill try to answer as well as I can
It still looks unique you made the right choice 👑🔥
Appreciate you saying so Tariq and checking out. Freaked me out to do for a sec but think I'm glad i did
@@DOMIBOY do you sponge or anything like that with your hair or you just wash them
As a semi freeformer on my second journey, I like to manipulate my locs from time to time with abit of separation after each wash so I can easily say that I support you separating your locs. End of the day you gotta do what's best for you on your journey 👊
Your overall statement of a healthy balance of freeforming and separating is nothing but wisdom in my opinion. I'm glad I planned ahead. I just hit two years. Started with 9 months of growth. About 3-6 months of complete freeforming. Then separated into 8 main Congos and now I nonchalantly separate maybe once a week. Outside of that I just let them grow. I think separating avoids a lot of catastrophic possibilities especially with health.
Bruh i panicked - saw the title and thought you shaved it all off. Just had the deepest exhale hahaah
I remember watching your videos years ago and I thought your locs were dope then I recently realized that you were the same person that did the super saiyan Jaylan parody. Maditz, that was one of my favorites. Once I made the connection I was like oh shiz that was Domi! Glad you still locing bro now you definitely looking like a real saiyan.
Yooo hahahah taking me back! I was legit just messing around before I had a channel and that went viral. It is me! ;)
First set was dope but this one definitely gone be better💯
Ayyy Appreciate that man, feels like I just stepped fully into the year mark. Hope you thriving this weekend
I love how you put this video. You basically “Like bro y’all can keep yall Congo’s un separated but I’m im about rip these bitches apart because I want to.”But you still make sure you say, unseparated congos will be a dope ass set. They will, But it’s gonna be tough in the long run. Definitely a good video for us nattys. Lol I have no locs I’m about 6 months in. Just being patient 😂 lol
Video was tuff!! Love the end result.🌊🌊
Perfect timing on the maintenance too; I think of locs similar to a plant.
Ever so often give it a little direction, for growth. 🌿
THANK YOU FOMI BOY you're already my favourite dreadlock youtuber and I'm currently struggling with the same problem, my scalp has brrn extremely painful lately and I figured out it's because of these damn congos, it was scary as hell cutting them apart but I think I did a pretty good job, thank you this video helped
I’m 2 years into my loc journey & I’ve been wanting to separate my bigger locs so thank you so much for this videos💯🔥
Dope man! Can't wait to start my journey. Mad inspiring bro!
Your sense of humor... I’m fucking crying 😭😭😭
Beautiful job separating your locks. Looking good you have a bad ass set already!
His hair is super clean and healthy!

The pictures of the bald spots sent me 💀. Thanks for the content
Glad you’re back bro!
just cut my congas after 2 years , my hair texture is kinda curly & softer, it was looking and feeling like i needed to restart. thankful i found ur page dude gonna save these tips for this time round cuz i honestly didn’t go into it with much thought like this
Yo you should join the entertainment business, you seem built for the camera and got good charisma.
great vid fam! I am coming up on a year soon (April) and I have also had to separate a bunch. This journey has been great and I love how it has made me feel. I want to say freeforming has always been something I wanted to do but, after watching your vids it made it so much easier! Thanks fam!
I missed the noti but I’m back for another video 💪🏾
Your locs are so perfect
The separation was a good move they look great brah enjoy your journey
This was the best separation video on the internet 👏🏾 great job
literally separated mine today haha. Sick video as usual
Long as you stay dreaded bro.that title had me worried tho.✊🏽💪🏽
Your hair made so much progress
We started same time. My hair is matted into a mono dread. Everything standing tall. I really don’t see separating as a thing. Looks good on you bro. Really
Nice outcome! Stay up brotha
Thanks for the insight bro ,it was definitely a good idea to separate your locs🙌
Great video my guy. Crown is looking dope! I’ve been doing monthly check ins myself and love the results 🤙🏾
Yesirrrrrrr sorry I was late my boy😁😂
Why I cut my 3 year old locs. I have psoriasis so its important for me to access my scalp. I'm starting over with growing freeforms from my twa. Your hair looks so moist, how do you keep it so beautiful?🥰
You scared me for a sec I thought you really was finna cut your whole hair I was like nooo
You cute. You've got a lot of personality and I think you did the right thing to separate your congos because that scalp pull be soooo disrespectful. Excited to see what your year 2 of growth brings; I just crossed the 8-month mark myself.
Thats the style I've been wanting dawg
Respect, Domi boyy 🤠
I just noticed this morning that I'm growing that crater too right in the front of my head lmao
So happy this video ended the way it did
How do you apply the actual aloe vera I'm here in Cali and I have alot of the actual plant what do I do to apply the aloe vera on my scalp?
looking forward to how your dreads eventually turn out man in a year or so
Good look for you glad you happy with your separation brother
On god my congos are growing on the both sides of my head just like this. After watching this I might separate em.
The thing is you think that loc was going to be gigantic when in actuality it would have condensed over time. I think you might have separated a tad too early but your hair is still dope nonetheless
I need a plug for that beanie/tam whatever it’s called
I'm going semi-freeform with my next set of locs.
Cut mines from February ( same time I started last year ) gonna start next week!
Crazy bro literally was here from month 2
on my last set of dreads i put them in a juice wrld rubber band and forgot and left it in there for a month it hurt so bad to take it out
DOPE CROWN BRO +
my hair is growing just like this. it's crazy
And the shakeeee lol
I got that same shit going on the entire front of my hand
Dude how often do you wash your hair?
How did you get your hair to grow like that bro?
Do u wrap your hair at night and if you do with what?
bro can i start free form from a two strand twist out?
Hey where you get that Tam from?
It’s crazy cause I have the same exact problem but like 30 times worse I have one on the left side of me head that honestly not that bad then like the whole top right side of my head is one huge ass lock from my hair line to just before the back of my head (kinda like if u drew a line down middle of a high top) then got a huge one bigger than the right one on the back right side of my head 😭😭😭 and all the spaces in between or tiny ass skinny ass dead’s 😭😭
I just did this a week ago. Game changer. I can actually oil my scalp now too.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What that hat thing called
If you ain’t really bout that Congo life just say that 😂
Sent you my locs update🥵🥵🥵 don’t know if I’m doing well but help me check em out
🔒🔒
It won't happen to you if you not balding, I had to cut mine cause my balding genes kicked in
I gave in and cut them 🤦🏿♂️
Selling mine on eBay. I can’t
HAHAHAAAA!!!!
You need to fade the side's and keep the top and back hair get a temp fade to make it look cleaner bro
Or do you just leave it
😂😂😂
I can help you separate them
Occasional separation of freeform locs is part of their upkeep imho, not just for looks but for comfort and to be sure you can clean the scalp. Looks good to me 🥰
