  • The band Exile formed in 1963 and 60 years later they are still entertaining audiences with their hit songs.
    Their most successful hit, “Kiss You All Over” spent four weeks at the top of Billboard’s pop chart in 1978. The hit song was also used in the Adam Sandler movie “Happy Gilmore” and in the film “Employee of the Month.”
    In the early 1980s Exile started to focus on country music. During their run on the country charts. They had ten No. 1 singles including “I Don’t Want To Be A Memory” and “Give Me One More Chance.”
    The 5 original Exile members re-formed in 2008 and continue to tour today. Current members of the band include J.P. Pennington, Les Taylor, Marlon Hargis, Steve Goetzman and our guest today, Sonny LeMaire.
    They have 3 Gold Albums, 8 Million Records Sold and were inducted into The Kentucky Hall Of Fame in 2013 and Exile is believed to be the longest-running American self-contained band! www.exile.biz

    Thank you so much for this interview. Throughout the 80s and to this day Exile is my favorite country band, and their song “She’s Too Good To Be True” is still my favorite song of all time. I wore out my cassette of their album “Shelter From The Night” delivering my paper route as a kid. Anyway, it’s so good to hear these stories and learn so much more about this terrific group of guys.

    I use to work for Alabama but Exile has always been my favorite group. Seen them free at lake windavsoka in tenn. I was wowed.

    Sonny I hope you will see this message. I remember when you were a member of a group when you were in you teens. A group called “The Scepters” in southern Indiana. 1966-1967. How about that Sonny ? Also known later as “Knycks”
