The story behind the song of Jolene. A bank teller was flirting with Dollys husband. He didn't cheat on her & there was no fighting that took place. Jolene was the name of a pretty little girl getting an autograph from Dolly. Dolly loved her name & thought she was a beautiful little girl. So Dolly went home & did what she does best. She wrote a song combining the 2 events.
Like Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton is a great singer/songwriter.

This reaction is hysterical, because no woman would ever except this today. When I was a child still I heard this song because my dad was into country in the 70s😅, and it was the most beautiful thing I ever heard. Had no idea of the lyrics, it was just pretty to my ears. I kept thinking the red haired one stole her man, talking about her in his sleep...that is disgusting. All I understood from it. I still thought grownups needed to say those things to eachother 😂.
