This Midori is so dull, as from the book she is the opposite to Noriko. she's fun, loud, quirky, bit crazy. too sweet here.
but this is her sad scene, it's mean to be dull and doesn't tell who she is
all of the actors in this movie were dull lol, should have never been made. this is how i expected midori to look tho
@@joeblazey048 I think that it should’ve been made into a miniseries rather than a film.
Kiko's soft-toned, quiet performance was powerful here. She has wonderful dramatic instincts, and the subtle underplaying of this crucial scene is so... well... perfect.
A romance drama story in the winter is the ultimate Japanese love story of all times.
It was raining in the book
Yess thats what i was thinking too and this do not looks like its in the roof they were in the roof...
Fan of the book for 15 years and I adored this movie. The haters truly are miserable
Well I agree with you (who uploaded this). Besides, I think the director and editor have done a good job making a beautiful movie and still respect the original version (book) like this. (hardly seen nowdays).
Thanks for uploading :) .
I once had a girl or should I say she once had me
There's a vulnerability in this scene of the movie that even though they say the same lines in the book, the meanings and intentions of 'hold me' and the quirkiness of Midori's playfulness and Toru's hesistation are lost or expressed completely differently.
In the book there's a scene where midori confessed her love to Watanabe Toru and they kissed in the rain. Even though Toru was bluntly honest saying tht he still cant get over because of her, "Naoko" , after the confession they even sleep together (they didn't have sex though) the movie is a bit different from the book..to my opinion the book is far way more superior than the movie itself
It is really hard to make murakami novel adaptions.
At least they did a good job in terms of cinematography - every still is a desktop background img
WHERE CAN I FIND A BEANIE LIKE THIS! so pretty!
The difference of this scene and the book is the fact that the movie is condensed which applies to both pacing and character development . Midori didn’t get enough screen time to establish her full on personality of quirkiness and energy in the movie. So it would be weird if she was quirky and energetic in this moment of the movie. Also, the vibe of the movie is a lot more monotone and direct, intentionally, so that viewers know how to think and feel when watching. This literally applies to all adaptations. I thought it stood alone very well as a movie.
Following that logic, shorter books should be easier to adapt to the big screen because with less scenes described in the novel, there would be more time to recreate their character development faithfully in the film.
@@jameswalker6864 wrong. Are you being facetious? Screenplay adaptations aren’t a direct correlation of how long or short the book is. There is *choice* and artistic liberty in what parts of the narrative get sacrificed or emphasized to make a book more screen friendly. Which is why there is an entire award category in cinematography for adaptations.
Also, a short book designed to be on the screen is called a script, In essence. Lol
I JUST FINISHED THE BOOK I JUST FOUND OUT THERE IS A MOVIE I'M FUCKING DYING.
It was raining in the book not snowing 🧐
hope you will upload the whole movie with english sub :)
This wasn't how I imagined the scene would be 😢 It had very little scenes with Midori and her moments with Toru which would've been very important so it would give justice, and the viewers could understand, why he said he likes/loves her and chose her in the end. It failed to show her quirkiness and enthusiasm, and her being flirty! (Kiko kind of failed to give justice to her role 🙁) They also failed to show Toru's desperation while calling her name. Oh, and the part where she wrote that letter to Toru confessing her disappointment because he didn't notice her hairstyle! And didn't talk to him for a long time. It was an important turning point in Toru's character because that's when he realized he loves her! And also the part where she told him she's a live girl with live blood gushing through her veins and how she loves him and would do anything for him. Ughh. They could've done better 🤧💔
This could easily be a scene from a horror movie.
失去你是非常難過的事。我愛你。這種心理狀態是難能可貴的。我不願意在不惜使之扭曲變形的情況下得到你。與其那樣,還不如趁有心之時失去你,這總還可以忍受。
This would had been better if they just copy what was in the book. It was more magical than this scene and it captures something
this is not the scene I imagined from book
Her face is expressionless. This is not how I imagined Midori
this is mellow scene. she's supposed to be like that since she speaks her sad emotions. aside from this scenes, you could see she's being happy go lucky
what are you doing there L???
Kanato Sakamaki omg yes super duper my fav is subaru tho but I love them all I cant wait fir season 3
oh I have a fellow friend on fb who adores Subaru as well. She's like obsessed with him lol. Guess who's my fav, haha jk lol. Anyways, I know some ppl are spreading stuff about a third season, but there is no legit OFFICIAL announcement for one. I had a very popular dialovers fb page before and am running a popular dialovers group on fb and would know about news and stuff, following the official sites such as their website and twitter. But probably some time they will make a third season to promote the games more.
I never get did he really love her or she was just a shoulder to cry on n a backup in need. Maybe she was because he is just a teenager I cnt expect him to really love someone although he was really a good person.
If he didn't love Midori, he wouldn't haven chosen her over Naoko, life over death. In the end of the book he chose Midori bc she made him feel alive again...
@@melissa_1984 It made me happy that he chose her bcz he loved her. I think he also loved naoko. I'll have to read the book for better knowledge. Thnx
@@surbhipatel6944 He love both of them. But I think at the end, he chose Midori over Naoko.
I'm reading the book now but I haven't watched the film. Who's this girl? Is it Midori?
The line is exactly the same as book's
yea me too i'm fucking finishing my book too, and...well i'm impressive reaction dieing
God, why must all adaptations be disappointing
Una escena muy vacía comparada con el libro.
L and Mikasa 🤣
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Midori is so blue. 😉
son of suvival family
I'm sorry but this ain't it. The movie is much different than the book...
Haruki MURAKAMI 1Q84 - ua-cam.com/video/6BhIM02h-14/v-deo.html
L you look so weird 😂😂
Japanese look weird doing romantic scenes
It's not about japanese. It's because this movie is based on a Novel, and this atmosphere is what you expect from the Novel but it looks kinda off here, ngl.
わたしは、みどりみたい、、
This may be the worst movie made from a book ever. No way near as amazing as the book !!
This is not how I imagined the scene at all in the book, the rain was a better choice imo, would have been better instead of just silence for ambience, also, I don’t know about anyone else, but when I read this I didn’t imagine Midori being quiet, although serious, I don’t think she would lower her voice here personally.
Ikrrrr me too my imagination of medori was sooo much better than this... this just seems wrong
