If you relate to the characters in some way then it will be more than just a game it might almost seem like your part of that world and reality the characters are in it’s a really cool concept that has been around for ages. It’s not as successful in movies but in tv shows and video games they have a very big impact on how you play the game

For me, there was no question. Chloe understood it and accepted it. I couldn't have killed all those people for Chloe... and so I already had my answer, but her speech showing how much she had grown and was finally going to be responsible and die a hero so that so many would live.... I wouldn't take that from her either. It took me no time to choose giving her a heroic death allowing her to save the town.

Declan Houston I actually cried. The only other game that made me cry was The Last of Us. But I didn't cry as much as I did in Life Is Strange. In TLoU I shed a couple of tears, but in LIS I was drowning in tears, I had the ugly crying face and everything. The ending was heart wrenching. And the whole game was amazing.
Med Max Yeah, the last choice had me stunned but i felt like sacrificing chloe was the right choice and couldnt deal when the credits started rolling.
I balled like a little kid when I chose to sacrifice Arcadia Bay. I couldn't let Chloe die though. Pricefield is OTP.
The only thing I dislike about the game is that after playing it through once, it makes you want to not play it again.
For me it's like a single play through and then I don't want to play again because of the feels

No clue if anyone will ever read this, but this story has so much depth. Both endings are absolutely beautiful and interpret the story differently. I'll give you mine:
-In the "sacrifice Chloe" ending the blue butterfly is the most prevalent magical being. Blue butterflies are a popular symbol for a person's soul or essence. Max's diary during the nightmare also shows Chloe's face coming out of the blue butterfly. The butterfly also lands on Chloe's coffin and is present at the funeral. Blue butterflies are also often seen as "wish granters". If the blue butterfly is Chloe's spirit who is not bound by the constraints of time and space then Chloe's spirit might have indeed known about Max coming back and might have even given her those powers so Max could experience some time with her again for a while before having to part ways with her eventually. *"And it didn't happen until I moved back here...so without you, my powers wouldn't even exist."* - Max. Perhaps the time together they could spend during that one week was akin to a magical dream, a final parting gift from Chloe's spirit. The inevitable tragedy was a nudge for Max to slowly wake up and come back from the magical dreamlife to reality, to accept that her friend has passed on and that life will go on. There are some tragedies that we just cannot change. But if Chloe could talk to Max, she would just wish Max the happiest of all lives, she wouldn't want Max to ruin her life for her sake and to get stuck in time for her sake forever, she would want Max to remember her but to live on with her life and her dreams. Your best friend is cheering for you from the other side and watching over you, rooting for you. Cherish all those wonderful memories you made together and live your life to the best of your ability,
-In the "Sacrifice Arcadia Bay"-ending the deer is the main symbol, probably a representation of Rachel Amber's soul who could have been seen in this ending as giving Max the powers to save her best friend Chloe from certain death and to enact karma on the city of Arcadia Bay for their uncaring attitudes about all the miseries and tragedies taking place in Arcadia Bay. *"Who knows, this could be Rachels revenge, our revenge."* -Chloe. The world and the city here is ending because people don't care about one another and don't look out for one another has been a prominent theme throughout the series as well. Many tragedies and unfortunate fates could have been avoided otherwise. Innocent birds fell down from the sky and died, Many innocent people became victims in this city. The deers and the birds are representing the forgotten souls of all the many victims of this place where nobody cared and in the end they are now reclaiming the ruins of the heartless city and getting their justice. Also staying with Chloe is a lot about sticking-up for the one person you love, no matter the cost, because nothing can ever replace them. The world may burn around you but as long as you have each other you can be fine even in a world of great tragedies.
-On a whole with both endings stands in particular the theme of becoming an everyday superhero, either for strangers or for the people you love the most. Super-Max might have had time travel powers, but most of the super stuff she did with those are all things we all can do. All of us can be everyday heroes, the timetravel mechanic mostly just highlights to you what all those small everyday decisions can actually change, a small word here and there, a kind gesture, thinking of someone, we all have everyday superhero powers and you don't need to have dramatic superpowers to change the fate for most people in big ways. Tell them you love them, you're there for them. Even the bullies are often people who have had troubled pasts and who let their pain out on others. The art gallery in Episode 5 was full of images of everyday superheroes pictures. Firefighters, nurses, friends, nice people etc. Tell your loved ones you care about them, you may never know if they might have a car crash, get hit by a tree or feel mentally broken inside without saying much. All the decisions in life is strange that change big events drastically are just minor decisions. And all of us can become a Super-Max, the superpower of the very simple act of caring and sitting down to listen. Yeah life is strange, magical, mysterious, sad, fun, odd, beautiful, scary, weird. But we're all in it together and a lot of the sadness and tragedies can be avoided if we all cared just a tiny bit more and looked out for one another. I think this is what the story is ultimately about.
This might be the most beautiful interpretation of an amazing games amazing ending
I loved this interpretation ; I also feel that the sacrifice arcadia bay symbolises how far a person can go, for one he/she loves , and going against the common sense is just one of its effect. I personally prefer sacrificing Arcadia bay , because I feel like, even if the fate of Chloe was to die , Max has already saved her a lot of times, in alternate timelines ,as well as in the reality and in fact , Max went back again and again in ep 5 just to build a future where Chloe and she could hang out , and laugh all the time, even after knowing what she is doing is selfish . In the nightmare , it is symbolised pretty well , when she is sitting on the bench beside lighthouse. All the texts she receives from Joyce and Williams , are actually her insecurities and doubts about all her actions. But she still saves Chloe , because that's how much she loves her friend.
Thank you for this wonderful interpretation and the meaning you drew in the end. I'm going through a rough patch in life and stumbling upon this beautiful song yet again has given so much bitter sweet nostalgia

This song fits the mood of the game so well. When it kicked in at the end of episode 1, with Chloe opening up to Max again and the cinematics showing the everydays life of all the side characters, I was hooked to the game. Sorry Arcadia Bay, I cannot just manage all those obstacles to safe Chloe to then not choose Chloe in the end.

I can kinda relate with Max and Chloe friendship, me and my cousin were really close when we're kids but then we grew and we stopped talking... She became gorgeous, talented and had a lot a friends, while I was the completely opposite.
I can't look at her without feeling shame at myself, because we're so close and almost identical, but now she's so distant... This song bring back some memories of when we used to play together almost every day, those are one of my precious memories and I hope I will never forget them

Girl let me tell you something ok, growing up in loving family my dad and mom were always there for us. My dad has 2 sisters so I have 5 cousins 2 of one aunt 3 of another. Since one of the aunt deceided to join jehova witness sect they brainwashed my aunt and she cut ties with us. I lost 3 cousins. Today 1 of my cousins got expelled from the JW and could live a normal live. At 18 in 2000 he faked being gay so he could quit the sect. His parents kick him out he never had spoken to his brother and sister since and he spoke rarely to his mom in 2021. He managed to go back to college and university doing jobs no one wanted to do then was a museum janitor museum guide a barman a musician etc etc. I also was very close with my cousins. On the day my grandma died her daugther the mom of the cousin I am talking about said she will go to hell because jehova said so she said we were doomed. She did not attended the ceremonial and said to her son she wish he died too. Why am i telling all thst is your family sometimes are not the most important people. True friends are.

The ‘right’ choice is letting Chloe die. The theme is consequences of our choices, Max uses her power to prevent Chloe’s destiny but it is implied this will always be temporary and they’ll be another storm of sorts and the action of saving Chloe kills the whole town.

I remember listening to this song everyday during freshman year in highschool while I was going through a deep depression. Music was the only thing keeping me here and this game made me wish I had a strong, bonded friendship like Max and Chloe's. This was one of the songs that stuck with and hit me emotionally. I'm now in 12th grade, my last year in highschool, appreciating how far I've come. I'm glad I've encountered both this beautiful game and especially this beautiful song. Man i played life is strange in year 11 back in 2017 cause I was in a depressed stage of school and life and I used to push lis away thinking it was cringe, for girls etc when I discovered it in 2015. I played it almost straight through for the whole day and immediately went on to play before the storm. Then I would listen to the soundtracks and the Daughter album for the whole of my senior year. Something about this game and its atmosphere just made me content and happy and helped me be where I am today. Hope your doing good man, also rip x 😭

Once I took the time and thought about it it was the only logical choice anyways. The original timeline was screwed anyways, even if you kill chloe I highly doubt that the the character of Max would let the rest happen. Timeline is fucked, might as well save Chloe XD

It's only been 2 days since I finished the game and I'm still crying. What a wonderful experience Life is Strange was to me and for everyone here. My choice at the end was to save Chloe, mainly because I believe that the destruction of Arcadia Bay was inevitable. For me It was never because of keeping Chloe alive in all realities. I accepted the end of AB and also Max did everything that was on her hand to save her, Chloe's life was so hard and incomprehensible, she deserved a happy ending together with Max. I'm still sad for the other time line where she died but I'm happy that my choice was to keep her on Max's side. I will never forget this story and I'll miss all these characters, Life is Strange came to me in the right moment just when I've been struggling with personal issues and life. I thank and bless all the beautiful person who made this game possible and again, what a wonderful experience Life is Strange was. ❤ Love everyone

It's been 5 years or so, I still haven't forgotten about this, somehow, listening to this song makes me feel dreadful
This is my favourite story driven game by far it is so emotional but beautiful at the same time and that is what makes it such a masterpiece! It’s so well put together and I recommend it to anyone who has time and likes a slower paced story driven game. It gave me a break from the regular run and gun shooter type game and it was a necessary break. So much so that whenever I need one I play it it never gets old. I know what people are saying about the dialogue being off but I think it was intentional because that’s kind of how a teenager thinks, in an off way (believe me I am one). I wish that they would make a sequel to the Chloe and Max storyline because if they don’t have any ideas for the sequel then I certainly do!
Edit: I’ll just keep going then. I personally can relate to all the characters I feel like I’m in a constant depression and have anxiety problems but there are caring people all around and even still I am constantly trying to fill a void that is never satisfied anymore kind of eating at me slowly until I explode with anger. So I give this game a 10/10 rating

This can be considered one of the top emotionally touched video game I ever played... Not only Just the game ,the story, characters, music all are top notch ...so sad still many people can't experience it ..they can still make this as a Movie or web/TV series with this same music and apt characters ,it will have more reach

There is no better song for the save Chloe ending than this. You sacrifice the entire town for someone who should’ve died 3 times over the last week because you’ve grown to them so much it would devastate you to lose them a second time. You’re both ready take take on whatever life throws at you together, even if it means reusing the power that caused the original tragedy
