This was so much fun to watch you do! I love all the hints you give also. When you don't like a value of color, you show us how to not panic and 'see, just take your brush and remove what you don't like'. Not a big deal. Love it!

I love when you do landscapes Ellen! It’s been over a month since I’ve been able to watch a tutorial and a month today since I’ve painted! ( I’m a 24/7 caregiver for my Mom who has dementia). It’s been a rough month with a Mom who doesn’t get social distancing and isolation! My soul has needed to paint!! Watching this today is like a soothing balm!! Thank you Ellen!! I always peek everyday to see what I missed with your tutorials and demonstrations. I’ve got a lot of catching up to do!!!

Lynda - may the blessings of Infinite Peaceful Spirits rain down upon you! Dealing with Dementia requires strength and 24/7 puts you on an entirely other level. I hope YOU are getting support - its what I needed most with similar experience. Keep your Paints ready to go when you find those precious moments. Ellen's Tutorials are the best as they are simple & TIME Friendly - such a great Teacher. I have learned quickly & often, when I just want to paint but too tired to learn a new one, I do more of a simpler favorite - ask me how many Pots of Lavender Cards I've made! Wishing you well & happy that you have found us here :) Kindly, Justine NY

I was a nurse and I worked also with elderly who had dementia and alzheimers, it's a tough road to walk, fyi there are support groups who are there for families dealing with this illness, if your feeling low please reach out to them ia internet or your local health depot can steer you in the right direction for support groups for support, I'll say a prayer for you and your family. I also appreciate all the wonderful artist teaching us especially out thru ytube to help those of us to learn a skill that combats stress......mikelle newyork mom...😷✌🕊🦋💚🎨

THANK YOU for all those COLOR SHOUT OUTS as you go along. SO helpful ! LOVE this one - it might wind up being my "Go To" trying different color variations and when I'm dying to paint but can't decide WHAT - this one will definitely break the ice and get me going. Its beautiful and another great exercise for me to "Loosen" up! Thank you for being here Ellen.

Taping to a Board made ALL the difference in my results vs. taping to a static, drawing board. I made my own from the Side of a cardboard Box then wrapped it entirely, MANY times in CLEAR DUCK (Packing) Tape. This made it both strong from bending & water repellent. It might be a bit "ghetto" but it was Free & assuaged the guilt from watching all those empty Amazon boxes piling up! Try it! Cheers!

Just one thought from a beginner who is very challenged by your "easy," marvelous watercolors: I used a utility knife to cut just one corner of my credit card to a sharp (90-degree) point. I then rely on that pointed corner when I scratch-in the trunks of DISTANT trees, in an effort to maintain the vertical perspective that I had tried to create earlier with wet color. (Naturally, I use the "normal," rounded corners of the card for foreground trees.)

This is well worth my time and not boredom watching material.. Love it so much. It’s absolutely beautiful. Your mountains are a bit puny compared to ours but we can forgive you for that. This is so lovely! Thank you for this and all your tutorials. You are amazing and generous. Hope to one day soon return the gift with a membership. Off to paint. Finally something to do with a credit card that doesn’t result in a bill!
Addendum: I discovered you have a “tip jar”, so I just made a contribution after my snarky credit card comment. Thanks for all you do. I spent a week with this tutorial, repeated it each day and now have five versions of this landscape which look only loosely like this one in composition. Learned a lot and had fun doing it. Not looking terribly artistic. I’m either way loose or way not. But it’s all good!
