That Bell Air used to sit in their driveway with the slicks on in the summer. Looked so cool in those colors, and you could see the tyre width from behind, indicating buff horses under the hood.
Incredible they managed to fit a V8 into a mini. I read years ago about a guy who put a Jag V12 in the back of a mini - it took up ALL the space behind the front seats so he put the gearbox facing forwards driving the front wheels. Car went round corners surprisingly well but was impossible to drive in a straight line.

I remember he had a Datsun 210 with a 2.3 turbo SVO motor swapped. Stuff like that. Now pretty much the only thing they do is LS stuff. Very high quality stuff though. They're very committed.

Only two like in my area that i know of, big sellers in their day but oddities as early as 1970 due to rust and poor engineering a k a room for home improvement :) .
AMC = American Motor Company At one point they held the Jeep company to. So AMC pulled the CJ5 and later the CJ7 Renegade to the daylight. First with there big straight six and later with there shortstroke V8's. AMC Engines have a particular sound to it.

@@BariLopesh there is no point in pushing a diesel so far, diesels have much higher peak cylinder pressures for the same torque, are rpm limited and need a very strong transmission to hold the torque they need to make power. At the end of the day it is lighter and cheaper to just use an otto cycle engine instead of heavily modifying a diesel.
Yes pretty much all of them have been imported. There is a pretty large American car community in Scandinavia. One reason for that is probably that a lot of the tv programs shown over there are American.
We call those tires on the Volvo Small Tire here in the US. Big tires are at least double those. The Yellow car at the start of the video is Big Tire car. That is the difference from Small tire and Big tire. These racing the 1/4 or 1/8 mile? Guessing times is 1/8 mile or roughly 200 meters which is 660 feet or 220 yards. How did all these cars manage to get road legal? I mean. The cops could just stay outside the track and pull them in to flying inspection. We all know the outcome of that...
There is some kind of exception for rally cars if I'm not mistaken, that they're allowed to drive on the road between races. They could just add some drive on gravel and claim this is rally 😏 check mate police. (Probably not)
There is a risk for that. But I think the police here in Sweden is tactical thinking, as they prefer to have the races on track after decades of wild races on street (Birka cup, Valhalla cup and Stockholm open).
