Best explanatory tutorial ive seen this far.. been watching heavily for around 2 weeks as im currently unemployed but i have purchased a kit with 2 rotary machines and around 50 needles.. i think my style is similar to this but i havent tried it all.. ive only done around 30 home jobs and most of them were years ago with a homemade machine and a frickin sewing needle or guitar string or pen spring 😅 some were in prison.. but some of them didn't turn out as bad as you might think. None have scared or been too deep.. Anyway ive got better gear now and this tutorial in particular will help a brother out, so thank you egg.. much love ❤️

Great advice, especially about using the mag and then coming along with the seven shader you will get a line if you’re not careful I’m glad you brought that up that something I always forget to tell people

Yeah I always like to make sure everything is super saturated , sometimes using a mag towards the line can leave a patchy heal also some people can leave mag lines over the line which can happen , glad this helps 😊

This guy is amazing. Gutted because the sound is so up and down constantly, I really want to actually hear the dude. It goes from loud jazz over him speaking making it impossible to hear him, to so loud I have to jump on the remote. Is there not an audio leveling function when you upload?

Ahh I said in the begging I’m using a world famous wash , I’m not breaking down my own inks , it’s something I done a lot in past but I felt like my work was inconsistent with the tones :)

You did not show us what type of needle you used to put white inks on larger areas and how to blend it in.
Unfortunately the footage got lost apparently , I really do apologise about this as it was pretty much out of my hands , but it was a size 30 / 13 or 15 mag kwadron needle depending on the size of the spot to saturate and I was using radiant super white , I start on a blank spot and then brush the white into the greys to make it look more opaque even tho there is no white in the grey wash , hope iv explained it ok for you buddy

@egg_ink7568 what a great watch. I honestly don't have any questions you were so open about your techniques. Only question I would like to ask is about art in general would you recommend practicing with traditional mediums such as graphite? Did you do a lot of this as you were become a tattoo artist and beyond? Happy Halloween!

Yeah I was practicing alot with graphite and charcoal , just being very messy and just for contrast really , it’s super fun and really does help towards your tattoos for sure :) but using the round shader is something I really learnt on the skin for texture I never put it in my drawings 😊
If the tattoo requires more than one sitting do you have to re apply another stencil, or do tackle all the outlines in one sitting ?
Really depends if I want to use hard edges or leave it soft , I’ll usually make sure I leave a nice cut off line so I can re stencil , I don’t often use grey lines in my work , I feel like sometimes they just dont disappear

No filter was used … it was just a change of lighting , but I usually use the sniper ! And a sandmarc lense , it’s so good 😊

Is a 7 round shader the same as a 7 round liner?
After lots or searching I have come to the conclusion the main difference is that round shaders are not angled to a direct point like liners. There for because the round shaders are more spread apart the texture is a little less “line like” and the angle of contact with skin should be more up and down (vertical) so the full spread of needles make’s complete contact with the skin.
Hey! The needle groupings are different, shaders are more spread out to give the shading/filling effect. Liners are grouped closer together to create a better effect for lining 😊
Yeah buddy that’s right ! Liners come to a point wer you can’t pack black with because it would cause to much trauma to the skin 😊
I found the craft cartridges, specifically the round liners, are total shit. The capillary seems non existent. Just couldn’t get them to pick up ink from the tub.
Yeah I wasn’t a fan of the liners , but it’s weird how the mags are better … if you haven’t tried the 23 I highly recommend

Sorry bro, I meant the top of the tattoo, the way you finished the background. I like the edges to be more soft and fading, it's easier to connect it with other tats later.
Unless this is a part of a bigger comp, and you've got a plan for what's coming above this piece, then it's all good.

With the Cheyenne unlimited it’s hard to say with just going off the sound but I think around 9 volts 😊
