Thoughtful arrangement and best one I've seen so far. Having trouble with the percussion parts. Is the palm pad necessary?
Thank you for the kind comment Chris! No, the pad isn't necessary. It is just for muffling the 'bass drum' thumps because my mic is picking up too much low end. Yes the percussion is a little tricky at first. I would suggest doing it VERY slowly such that all the notes and percussion parts are happening together perfectly. Hope this helps! :)
Pad isnt necessary, but not trying it because it seems tough isnt a good idea either. Give it a try and you will love it when it materializes😊😊

Hi Toby, the part where you are doing the snare with your thumb, are you simultaneously plucking the note while hitting the low E with your thumb? Could you explain?
Yup I’m slapping my thumb while plucking the higher strings for other notes

You're welcome! The pad is just a protective felt pad for chairs/tables.

How do you slap the low strings and pinch the high ones at the same time??? This is boggling my mind for a week now and I just can't figure it out. You even include bass, I'm not that much into percussive guitar but damn that seems hard to comprehend.
Try isolating the action of slapping the thumb while plucking a single string at the same time. Try this as an exercise: slap the thumb on the 6th string and at the exact same time pluck with your index finger the open third string.
Next try mixing things up a bit: slap the thumb while plucking the 2nd string with the middle finger
Now slap while plucking 1st string with ring finger
Keep repeating these motions making sure you are getting a nice crisp ‘snare’ sound from the slap while getting a nice clean tone from the plucked upper note. Take your time with this. I recall really struggling with this myself. I found the plucked note to be too loud a lot of the time so be aware of not plucking too hard while slapping. Hope this helps!

Sure! Whatever sounds good and works for you is the best way. If I'm not mistaken, I think I'm using my thumb for all the bass strings as well.
