  • Germany has announced a new blueprint for relations with Asia, calling in particular for 'diversity' in its focus in the region. That's being interpreted as an effort to lessen its dependence on China. A move that would almost certainly have consequences for German businesses.

In 2020 we were all really happy to have china as a trade partner. Also not every european partner is eager to see german leadership. The UK is even leaving the only club that could project some power to convince china into a partnership. But at the moment I guess UK in or out they got other issues over there than to project power on anybody.

      China-Central and Eastern Europe Summit
Then Poland and most of the other Eastern European countries would have to stop giving China more and more influence, if one more country switches to the side, your countries would have enough votes to block decisions against China or to partially paralyse the EU as a whole.
An example of what has already happened in recent years: Greece, Hungary and I believe Poland have blocked the human rights report on China or joint statements against China.
If these were to turn out badly, trade with China would have to be restricted.

@S W of course. Mainly because the US has been blocking high tech chip sales to China, without the US high tech semi-conductor chips, most so called "technologies" of China will not function properly. China has been launching rockets, satellites and missiles and they fall, and China doesn't even know where they fall. Also due to US sanctions of semi-conductirs and Android platform, , China's biggest smartphone company can no longer produce high end phone, only lower end. So Germany, being such slow acting and cnsrvative country, knows what it's doing. German technology is so much more advanced than China, trust me.

Germany should start selling 800 million toilets made by Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen to India to improve their personal hygiene, instead of selling auto, machinery, high-tech tools, and chemicals to China! Wake up! German industrial prowess depends so much on exports to China. Germany is an export powerhouse, whereas China is a huge consumer market. In terms of symbiotic relationship between China and Germany, Asia is China and China is Asia! There is no other alternative market the size of China in Asia or elsewhere on Planet Earth. The West got stuck in a false dilemma, which is GLOBALIZATION vs ISOLATIONISM. The true narrative, however, must be DEMOCRACY vs TOTALITARIANISM.
Look at what's going on in Britain, Europe, the USA. One doesn't have to be a 'stable genius' to see that China and Russia are in a joint venture to dismantle the West.
Western PUBLIC must open its eyes and wake up to the fact that we can't have it both ways - it's either cheap junk and gas from China and Russia, or FREEDOM for us and our children.
Read Churchill's timeless masterpiece called the "Iron Curtain" speech. It was true back then, and it is even more true today - the most effective western foreign policy ever, and the only TIME PROVEN WINNING RECIPE against totalitarianism, which China and Russia propagate worldwide:
"We cannot be blind to the fact that the liberties enjoyed by individual citizens throughout the United States and throughout the British Empire are not valid in a considerable number of countries, some of which are very powerful. In these States control is enforced upon the common people by various kinds of all-embracing police governments to a degree which is overwhelming and contrary to every principle of democracy. The power of the State is exercised without restraint, either by dictators or by compact oligarchies operating through a privileged party and a political police...
If the Western Democracies stand together in strict adherence to the principles of the United Nations Charter, their influence for furthering those principles will be immense and no one is likely to molest them. If however they become divided of falter in their duty and if these all-important years are allowed to slip away then indeed catastrophe may overwhelm us all."
