I love that chonny and his dad are bonding. Seriously warms my heart 🥺❤️ I never did these things with my dad as I got older and he passed away from cancer in January. I miss him so much and if anyone is reading this, hug your parents tight and spend as much time with them as possible. Time flies and we all get so caught up in our own lives to realize our parents are getting old and tomorrow is never guaranteed.
I love this!! A lot of Asian kids don’t get that type of bonding with their parents. The part when you were riding bike you made it funny but I felt it from the heart❤️

Is your dad from the north or south? :O He seems to have an accent when he speaks. (Well I guess everyone has an accent but it sounds different from how my family speaks, we’re from the south)
He has the Northern accent evident with Notherns pre 1970s. I'd say his parents (John's paternal grandparents) came from the North. He may have been born in the South if his parents migrated to the South in the mid 1950s. My parents certainly sound like him yet they were born in the South because my grandparents came down in the 1950s.

Future cooking tip: wet a paper towel, place it on the cutting board, and chop! The wet paper towel absorbs the oils from the onion so you won't cry :3

Hey, Chonny. I do appreciate your videos and find them entertaining, however, I want to point out your imitation of Asian accents. Most recently the Japanese accent in your “Cooking Japanese Food with my Vietnamese Dad (OYAKODON)” video and the Chinese accent “24 HOURS Eating CHINESE Food ft. Spicy noodles, Hot Pot & The Gang!” video. You’ve also imitated the Chinese accent in older videos when you’ve travelled abroad. It’s not that you try to speak another language or say some common phrases and food dishes, which would be commendable. It’s that you exaggerate the pronunciation and accent repeating words over and over again to the point that can be offensive and mocking. The use of “Chinaman” in your video is so very wrong, too. I know you are trying to be funny and are not a racist person, but I find it offensive and would not be surprised if others may too. If you were white, the internet would be all over you, but this is not right to do by any race or ethnicity. You are inadvertently perpetuating negative Asian stereotypes that needs to end. I encourage you to continue to eat different foods from all cultures, let us know about it, and present it in the most positive light. I hope you can get back to traveling soon. Thanks for reading!
