i think if they want to include the courier they could always just give slight mentions as the "legendary figure that participated in the hoover dam". basically indirectly, not ever mentioned by name, just by what they, or most couriers in house playthroughs have done, like deliver the platnium chip, obeyed mr house, and get shot in the head, and find benny and they could simply explain they left the mojave and the west coast years ago
The best depiction of what House was doing after the meeting is probably the fanmade video, Courier’s Gambit, where the Courier has a chat with Mr. House about such findings, and it’s done quite well given the limitations A.I has for mimicking Human speech. Even if this is considered peddling a video, I’d recommend watching it to get a perspective on what House was doing and thinking on that day, when the Vault-Tec chapter of the Enclave was meeting up.

Several years ago Brian Fargo did an interview where he stressed the importance of Player Choice, and I agree. An RPG that doesn’t allow player choice isn’t an RPG, it’s a glorified Digital Graphic Novel, and therein is the problem with the Show. By being set in pre-established locations with pre-established world building, it invalidates player choice by directly telling them the choices they made are wrong. People like Tim Cain navigated this dilemma by making general events cannon, while specific details were left unknown. Even Todd Howard got around this in The Elder Scrolls via the Dragon Break in the second game, making all events equally cannon in a multi-verse explanation. What Johnathon Nolan did wrong that a lot of legitimate long time fans despise was the exact opposite of the previous examples. He said in an interview he first chose an area he wanted to tell a story in, then created the story. But because it was a pre-established narrative he decided to wipe the slate clean so he could more easily create what amounted to Fan-Fiction due to how much it conflicts with what was already there. Had the show been set literally anywhere else that hadn’t been seen yet, like Texas or Kentucky, I truly believe no one would have any arguments and would legitimately be universally loved.
Honestly one of the more insightful comments here and yes I 100% agree the show would have been better off set in a different setting from the games (imo New Orleans would’ve been really cool). However like I said I do think New Vegas is possible to pull off without it being a train wreck.
They can do with the Courier how DIablo I and II did with their protacgoinsts. Just so you all know, the courier does have some sort of personality and even a possible ending for where he/she is, the personality wise is that he/she is kinda ignorant or doesn't get the things he/she is doing but after what they do, such as the missile he/she fire to get through the silo without knowing the missiles were still active (sure, Ulysses pretty much put you into that corner on purpose to show that you are kinda an idiot but still), besides the courier has an affinity to technology or at the very least to science as he/she gets to be like the warden of the big MT after the DLC OWB and he/she decided to stayed there AFTER the battle of hoover dam (it is in the game, check it out ;) ), also, the Sierra madre have another threat to the Mojave which being the cloud, don't know if that could have been the case to whipped new vegas but it is still an option
@noiamnotok1275 he has to, he is insanely important for the Mojave to even exist (or get destroyed), so one of the good things about him is that he could be anyone, a black guy, an Asian dude, a Colombian weirdo or a girl and even be bisexual and still be in character; besides, I really do hope we DO NOT see him as it kinda gets in the way of players choice which is essential (something that the previous fallout didn't fallout which are the first and second games :u)
Unless they want to completely disregard new vegas and hurt a lot of fans, the Fallout show is most likely not going to have the courier as a character because it'd be extremely easy to just not have to decide a personality for a playable character that not everyone will agree with. They might present the couriers legacy, but even then I think that's wishful thinking for the show.
@@corneliusantonius3108 that means nothing. The show is entertaining but is inconsistant and has alot of stupid moments. Retconing lore the way the show did is a problem. The writers don't care about the lore or the fans
man, some people just don't give the show a chance, some even take that to push the Bethesda + Fallout 3, 4, 76 hate. i love New Vegas and OG Fallout just as the next guy but damn, folks just never leave each other alone. i'll give ss2 a shot tho, hopefully it will be good. anyway, have a good day!
The Fallout fandom is filled with elitists who hate just to hate. New Vegas has been filled with gatekeeping Redditors that hate people having fun with the newer titles. They ruin what is the best game in the series.
It's really entertaining and i like it! It motivated me to play Fallout 1 and 2 after years of having them in my steam library. However in very sad that no Fo1 settlement was even mentioned except Shady Sands and its kinda lame how they destroyed everything in southern california again. But the OG games are going to be there forever even if the show changes things, and thats what should be important for that people if they dont like the future of this series!
@@nocwed4831 Hmm, I think we haven't seen much to judge the "how they destroyed everything in the southen california again." it's wide world out there, even in Fallout 1 map each settlement is far from each other, the gap between them is dry desert. Years later (til when the show takes place and time), we saw Filly, a town, there could be more towns like this, but since law and order seem to be weakened due to NCR region control being quite weak, the town is quite brutal and seems to be lawless. Maybe other towns aren't? maybe they are the same? We don't know but logical thing is, they exist. Just that the show don't explore it i guess. That's a downside for sure.
@@nocwed4831 Still, it's understandable, the show's length, direction and stuff, not to mention it revolves around three main characters going for the head all the time, on the run to get it etc. there are reasons to why they didn't explore civilization parts of California, ofc in logical sense, they *exist* even though the show didn't show 'em off, but i don't argue that it's a bad choice..
Bethesda will ruin it because they don’t understand it. Bethesda’s Fallout is limited to the Enclave, power armor, the BOS and Vault Tek ….Todd Howard can’t think beyond this. They can’t think beyond these things because they never understood what made the original two games and New Vegas so great
As a longtime fan i still have alot of issues with the show, and honestly in particular about how the NCR was handled, but I will admit on its own its a solid show.
0:31 - Complete disagree. There's been several UA-camrs and Twitter users who've noticed a lot of bot activity when it comes to Fallout. Gaslighting from accounts with no history, 5 star RT scores from accounts with no history besides the Fallout show, etc. It's not hard to fake positive reception these days.
I’d say I’m in between the hardcore and the average fans. I’ve played the mainline titles (3, 4, New Vegas) but I am currently playing through Fallout 1. I tried my best to research and make sure I had the correct information but of course mistakes can slip through so feel free to correct me.
I highly doubt a House courier would have high intelligence, as House himself only has intelligence 5 and rather has luck at 10, implying that Mr House is not some genius but just a very lucky egotistical man. The courier's intelligence has to be low for him to fall for what House is saying.
Synthetic man makes me question my own judge of character. I can’t believe I used to be with him on anti woke sentiments and now he’s gone full Adolf complaining of race mixing..
He's not wrong about everything though. His race mix statement seems random as hell. I agree. However he's not wrong about the fact that alot of media is woke nowadays. The show is definitely not "premoting" race mixing. That's not an actual issue. Synthetic Man mentioned the word Goyslop so he might be one of those conspiracy theorists that believe that Jews are out to get us and that the holocaust never happened or that holocaust deaths were lower than stated in history. I'm not woke or leftwing btw. Woke people aren't woke. I can explain why reperations and communism is stupid and bad but then this comment will turn into a massive article
@@sneeu27 he’s too far gone. He is an anti woke cautionary tale. I’m sure hitler had some good points too. Doesn’t mean you should turn a blind eye to the rest. He is turning a portion of his fans from anti woke to racist. He is a net negative on society. Wokeness is so surface level in most things now it doesn’t bother me. Yes, some high up executives and producers maybe wanted there to be a black wife and kid for brownie points (no pun intended) and to avoid accusations of there being too many whities. They didn’t turn it into a civil rights show, there’s no episode where she talks about black trauma; it does not affect the plot of the show at all. This is not woke. Diverse casting doesn’t make something automatically bad but it’s at the point for him he sees a non-white and it angers him. Idk what to call that other than racist. “Promoting race mixing” as a criticism is legitimately something a nazi would say
New vegas isn't so good that I'd be livid over them altering some things. There needs to be some canon events, and they handled the first season really well. I think they are hyper aware of who is watching.
Well, they nuked the ncr for convenience sake so yea I'm guese the strip will be destered neither the ncr or legion will hold the dam and mr house will be dead
would point out that Bethesda did pay for making and publish New Vegas so it was good for them to sell and promote it as with out their money it would never have been made. capitalist going to capitalist. I understand you aren't going all bethesda bad in your video I just think that is over looked by a lot of the hate thrown their way
Fan of the classics here, the series already destroyed what the original devs build trhough 3 games and the contradictions are numerous to say the least, I have no doubt they will do the same with New Vegas, they already did basicaly. To be honest I dont realy care about the Bethesda fanfictions anymore, I have long accepted that nothing good will come out of their hands and this show gave zero crap about the lore. There is no good story without consistency of the lore and events, these neanderthals incapable to not retcon, destroy or contradict what was already established. Fallout is dead, we have 3 amazing games Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas, and two ok spinoffs with Tactics and 3, the rest are nonexistent for me in regards of being canon!
Look at the brightside tho, the show led many people to play the games ((including the classics)). Maybe Bethesda ruined or is going to ruin the west coast canon even more, but that shouldnt make us enjoy less or forget the original games. Also, its not really important what are the names of the Super Mutants in Necropolis if the series doesnt even mention a single settlement of the original games, hell they even moved Shady Sands to the Boneyard for some reason and the Boneyard looks like its in ruins again.
Agreed. That would have been better for everyone. But it seems they're picking California and New Vegas for the purpose of retconing the lore. Instead they chose places we had in the games. Very sus
whilest F03 was initially well recieved, its New Vegas, that over time gained strong(er) fan devotion, especially having a 'stacked deck' as it were, that i would not be suprised if Todd has no problem of bulldozing over Fallout New Vegas Endings, as 'that one' wasnt His game, (merely) used as a tempory stop-gap measure to keep the Fallout name relevant until Fallout 4 releashed.
I really want them to rephrase the whole Canon thing, as they themselves would have initially 'broken off into another branch' from Fallout 1&2 , something was mentioned by that effect during their F03 promotion materials? or a early interview.
I just fuckin hate this show man and I swear to god they killed of the NCR just because Todd was jealous that someone made a better game than him. Like no fuckin way the NCR loses to the west coast Bos considering the fact that there has been battles between the NCR and Bos before and the Bos where almost destroyed (in the east coast) and I know you will say but shady sands got nuked and to that I say. In Honest Hearts Joshua says that NCR reinforcements stopped coming because something happened in the divide and even with this lack of soldiers the NCR still won. So basically there is no conceivable way that the Bos could defeat the NCR oh also btw the Bos get defeated in f4 by a howitzer.
No, they didn't kill NCR because Todd was jealous... They killed NCR so they can have their shanty town Western Aesthetic. So its even more stupid and shallow

Lol that todd Howard face on everything is funny as hell
Unless they want to completely disregard new vegas and hurt a lot of fans, the Fallout show is most likely not going to have the courier as a character because it'd be extremely easy to just not have to decide a personality for a playable character that not everyone will agree with. They might present the couriers legacy, but even then I think that's wishful thinking for the show.
But the courier would be at Big MT and not the main Mojave Map
I don’t see the courier making an appearance besides a reference.
Let the buuthurrt flow through them 😜😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
The show will ruin the lore
@@sneeu27 According to Tim Cain the creator of the Fallout universe lore drift is inevatableand he liked the TV show.
@@corneliusantonius3108 that means nothing. The show is entertaining but is inconsistant and has alot of stupid moments. Retconing lore the way the show did is a problem. The writers don't care about the lore or the fans
The wild card ending by far has the most potential for the future of the show if they use it right, in my opinion.
Honestly I wouldn’t mind if the show did a little bit of retconning only if New Vegas gets remastered in the process to match the Minor retcons.
man, some people just don't give the show a chance, some even take that to push the Bethesda + Fallout 3, 4, 76 hate. i love New Vegas and OG Fallout just as the next guy but damn, folks just never leave each other alone. i'll give ss2 a shot tho, hopefully it will be good. anyway, have a good day!
@@nocwed4831 anyway, good to hear that the show got you to play OG Fallout! it made me return to Fallout New Vegas and 1 lol, what a time to be alive.
Bethesda will ruin it because they don’t understand it. Bethesda’s Fallout is limited to the Enclave, power armor, the BOS and Vault Tek ….Todd Howard can’t think beyond this. They can’t think beyond these things because they never understood what made the original two games and New Vegas so great
new vegas is my favorite, not sure how a tv show could somehow ruin the game it doesn’t affect if in any way
As a longtime fan i still have alot of issues with the show, and honestly in particular about how the NCR was handled, but I will admit on its own its a solid show.
Moldiver had the mysterious serum. Just leaving that here.
All I care about is the House Always Wins
Well… what kind of fallout fan are you?
I’d say I’m in between the hardcore and the average fans. I’ve played the mainline titles (3, 4, New Vegas) but I am currently playing through Fallout 1. I tried my best to research and make sure I had the correct information but of course mistakes can slip through so feel free to correct me.
Yes, definetly, absolutely, 100%, not a shred of doubt, it's not even a question.
most sane new vegas fan
What if Todd doesn’t like new Vegas so much he makes the ceasers legion ending cannon 😂😂
what if the Courier died in Goodsprings or never existed
New vegas isn't so good that I'd be livid over them altering some things. There needs to be some canon events, and they handled the first season really well. I think they are hyper aware of who is watching.
Well, they nuked the ncr for convenience sake so yea
I'm guese the strip will be destered neither the ncr or legion will hold the dam and mr house will be dead
Lett glorious butthurt be had !
@@corneliusantonius3108 you could mine me for salt tbh
Nope.
Is the Capital Wasteland green? Is Vulpes a furry?
I think courier should not have a face i mean just don't show face
I wonder if in the show, the Courier would have his Old World Blues body parts
And usanagi implants
would point out that Bethesda did pay for making and publish New Vegas so it was good for them to sell and promote it as with out their money it would never have been made. capitalist going to capitalist. I understand you aren't going all bethesda bad in your video I just think that is over looked by a lot of the hate thrown their way
Nethesda Nuking everithing is a very Fallout thing to do !
Bethesda also fucked them out of a bunch of money causing layoffs in Obsidian
Tim Cain disagrees, He liked the Show. Let butthurt commence !
If you're a fan of the first two games, then what are the names of the Super Mutants in Necropolis.
@@corneliusantonius3108 Yes you are very good at being butthurt about ones opinion, go light the way for the other Oblivion NPCs!
@@ncrranger2281 I see the butthurt is strong in you young skywalker
Probably
I wish the fallout tv show set in a new place i would killed for fallout alaska or texas tv show
No it won't as it was already ruined by Season 1.
real
Let the butthurt flow through you !
Honestly this is what they needed to do, if season two wasn’t consequential, the show would’ve got boring
Fallout is only ruined if you consider Bethesda’s games and TV show cannon.

you have a bad lisp but nice video man

Take a breather, Legion fan.
