Interesting video. Your thoughts and comments on plants that have a similar look can and will be very helpful to many viewers. For people who find it important to have a very specific plant , most likely only that plant will work for them. I enjoy recommendations or alternatives to almost anything and I enjoyed reading these suggestions. Well done!👌🌿🥰💚
I only found out a couple of weeks ago that the string of hearts I got back in february is actually a silver glory! It wasn't labeled as it or anything. When it got pests this spring I didn't want to throw it out because the other SOH I saw in stores weren't as pretty and silvery as mine 😂
I'm a new-ish plant mom and I'm still learning to tell the difference between lots of plants. I have a few that you mentioned and I still am not totally sure which species they are. Ex. pearl and jade vs n'joy. PS. I love love love your earrings!!! ❤️🪴
I agree with most of your list but Cebu blue (mature form) doesn't look like rhaphidophora tetrasperma at all. Cebu blue is actually has that blue grey colour and a distinctive matte texture on the leaves, while the rhaphi tetra is wider in shape, has bigger splits, smoother, shinier texture and very verdent. I'm delving into the world of Hoyas more, and I'm finding most albo marginata varieties like incrassata, Acuta look spot on for carnosa krimson queen, but 2-3 leaves of the latter easily costs triple for a full 6" pot of the former.
Yes I thought the same about the silver lady scindapsus. Almost purchased because I love the scindapsus but thought it literally has the same pattern as my exotica just a different color and maybe feel to the leaves. That was not enough of a difference to spend the money.
My only "rare" plant is a spiral cactus... I sent so much money on it and a week after purchase it got lots of little black dots... and the I bought a common tiny cactus at the supermarket for 2 bucks... and it's doing great... Both alive but I guess y'all can tell who is not gonna take any risk in the near future...
I won my Florida ghost on instagram and it’s seriously my favorite plant! So easy, just grows so good & is so happy! Cebu blue I found at Walmart years ago for just over $15, I’ve traded cuttings & gave away cuttings. I can not believe the prices for them!
Walmart (San Antonio) had 6” full Cebu blues - about a months ago and then again last week. I bought mine from Lowes. No fenestrations. I’ll stake mine and maybe eventually I’ll get some fenestrations. Right now its trailing.
I live in south Texas - my Brasíl was exposed to full morning sun and the leaves became almost 100% yellow but none of them took on a lighter or creamy hue.🤷♀️

Interesting, maybe I haven’t seen enough raphidophora to tell the difference 🙈
I agree. I would never have thought that the Cebu blue and RT were similar. Maybe the mature climbing forms but I’ve never seen those.

It takes absolute ages to get fenestrations on a cebu! It’ll get there eventually if you give it time

It’s definitely different for every plant, mine gets loads of light but hasn’t changed hues yet either
