is this the new version of the expedition duffel? I heard that you can no longer remove the shoulder straps and stow it away for some reason, thus making it unsuitable for air travel. Tell me that it's just misinformation.
I saw this same complaint on the REI website, so I called Osprey. They confirmed that the new model is the one that has the stowable straps. It is actually an older model that the straps didn't detach and stow. That reviewer must have bought an older model thinking it was a new one.
Again, you can see Luke stowing the straps at 2:03. This version of the transporter was the newest version at the time of filming in 2017, and as of early 2019, is the current version.
Would this fit a Osprey Exos 58 into it? Based on capacity Liter it seems it should theoretically... I plan to use this transporter to Nepal trip with Exos 58 stowed inside it for the flight until I get to the trekking trail in Nepal and the stash the Transporter aside.
Thanks for the question! The Exos 58 would be slightly too long to fit inside the transporter 95 if you have the Exos fully packed. We would recommend checking out Osprey's Airporter cover, which is designed to protect your pack during airline transits and includes a lockable zipper. The Airporter then can be stowed away into its own pocket once you arrive. You can find the full details here: www.enwild.com/airporter-2016.html?Category_Code=duffel-bags-17
Thanks for asking! The dimensions of this pack are 27.2" x 14.6" x 13.4". Carry-on requirements and restrictions vary by airline and flight. We would recommend checking with your specific airline before choosing a carry-on bag. Safe travels and feel free to check out the latest version here: www.enwild.com/osprey-transporter-95-2021.html
Thanks for asking! While a shoulder strap is not included with this travel duffel, the Osprey Travel Shoulder Strap is able to be purchased separately. Check it out here: www.enwild.com/osprey-travel-shoulder-strap.html

No, it’s very air travel-worthy. Watch around 2:03 in the video to see how you can remove and safely stow the shoulder straps.

A 95l bag? I don’t know a lot about motorcycles, but I do know 95l is pretty huge...
