Can't believe you fussy cut that bird! Amazing! It is so interesting how you know when to add something to enhance the project and when it is enough. You are so imaginative. I bet you craft in your sleep! Thanks for taking the time and effort to share your art on these videos!
LOL! Yes, I did! You know, I painted the back side of the tape with white paint to make the bird image more opaque. And the bonus to that was that it also made it easier to cut out because the paint gave it a bit more stability. It’s my pleasure, for sure, Sandra - thank you for watching! 😊😊😊
These cards are all so beautiful. I learn so much from you!!!! The Christmas ones are my favorite especially the nativity. I loved watching you add detail with your paint brush. I never shade or detail enough, my stuff usually looks flat. Thank you for providing lovely music and inspired teaching without saying a word. 👍. TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe safe.
Such a beautiful little cards and such amazing artistry! Thank you for sharing! Isaiah 9:6 (KJV) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. What a wonderful time of year we are entering!
These cards are so very cute and sweet. I love your amazing nativity scene and that you had the song "Away in The Manger" playing in the background. You are such a great artist. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much, Lorraine! The nativity card was my favorite of those four cards. It was so enjoyable and relaxing to sketch it out and paint it. I was happy to find that song to play in the background, too!! 😁😁😁
Beautiful cards, Cat, and inspiring as always! For the snowman card, why did you glue the little "envelope" down with glue stick and then glue the snowman graphic with tacky glue? Was the snowman on a paper with gloss on it or something that made it slippery? Just curious. It also amazes me how outlining or softening the edges of the cards with markers, stamp pad ink, or little dots and dashes really makes the cards pop. Such a little thing that has a big effect. Thanks again for another great video!
Thanks, Kerry! 😊 The “envelope” was made from thin printer paper, so the glue stick was sufficient. The snowman “card” was very heavy card stock, so I needed the tacky glue to make sure it would stay in place. Yes, creating borders definitely helps to ground the other elements on the rolodex cards.
My best friend and I do 1 on the first of the month all year long. There are 4 months that there is no holiday so the we do a "surprise" What is a good idea to January?
How fun! January... well, there’s New Year’s, new beginnings, clocks to show time marching on... winter, snow, bare trees... Hopefully that’s gives you someplace to start! 😊
