- The plaintiff hired the defendant to repair her vehicle. However, the plaintiff claims the defendant took advantage of her, and she’s suing for the reimbursement for an insurance check. The defendant argues the case is bogus, and the truck in question doesn’t belong to the plaintiff.

Problem is, he should have stated that from the very beginning and shouldn't have cashed the insurance check
He literally said it twice, he definitely allowed him to speak. If he knew that wasn’t her truck he had no right cashing a check that didn’t have her name on it. He participated in fraud
The evidence he presented to help his case was actually gonna hurt him more that’s why judge cut him off

It’s like I take your car to a shop and get it fixed using your insurance and the mechanic fixes it after receiving the check. Mind you the mechanic “knows” the car don’t belong to me but fixes it anyways.

Judge should have not allow the plaintiff to win this case she's not the owner of the vehicle yes she did the transaction for the repairs but she is not the owner and the insurance paid she is not out of pocket of any money

The guy seems to be crooked to the core; I thank God I meet a Toyota technician, who's been my mechanic for years, honest and decent. While in the dealership they where draining the hell out of my pocket with cost and still left my oldest car with problems; I was even going to call a junk yard to sell them the car for scraps and the technician saved it, it's a Toyota Tercel 1996, running like new, even passes gas emission at inspections. I also had a friend mechanic, no more, who would scam people and then brag and laughed about it; beware of people who others call crooked, because it might just be true; the guy ended up working in a grocery store...

The repair guy is not fraud. I'm a paralegal at a law firm. If the mom or dad gave the body shop the okay to speak with their daughter, it was okay to handle business through her. They would have to be the ones to make a claim though, not the daughter but the daughter could come with the parents since she was the one speaking to the repair shop. The lady mentioned the car being hers because it was bought for her but legally it's not because it's based off whose name is on the car at the end of the day (title) and it's clearly not hers if he mentioned someone by the name of Rufus (likely the dad). Judge Mathis be so quick to respond rather than understand and that bothers me with some of these. Smh
