ENSENADA City Tour by Tuk-Tuk!!! (+ Carnival Firenze Likes & Dislikes)

- It is my first time ever in Ensenada, Mexico and I am here as a port on Carnival Firenze. This is a charming Mexican city! And what a better way to see it than on a city tour in a private tuk-tuk!!! We go all over seeing the city, the ocean, an amazing overlook, a winery and ending with tacos!! What a perfect day!!
We had the option of being dropped off by the ship or in the shopping area so we chose the later. In our walk back, we found a street market selling all kinds of local deliciousness!! If you have not had local elote, you haven’t really been to Mexico! This stuff is amazing!! And for sweets we had fruit filled crepes and, of course, churros!!! All was so good!!
On the last night of the cruise on an Italian ship, I had to have dinner in the Italian specialty restaurant Il Viaggio and this was hands down the best meal of the cruise!!
Stay tuned for the end where I will give a recap of what I liked… and what I didn’t onboard Carnival’s newest ship!

I tapped the above shore excursion app and got nothing after filling out the info…..
My interest was the Tuk Tuk in Ensenada….not offered as cruise shore excursion…..
That seal is so funny. We just got back from an Ensenada cruise on RC and that same sea was there posing. I got some get pics of him!!!! LOL He loves the attention!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoyed your cruise. It will be good to see Jason back in the vlogs and, of course Pepper.
Love this video…..looks like Mexico is really cleaning up Ensenada…..it is such a beautiful port….all the ports in Mexico are gorgeous and the weather is so accommodating…..wish the U.S. wasn’t having so many conflicts with Mexico because I love the Mexican people and the hospitality…..
I will go into Ensenada next cruise based on this video….thnk you!
And I love the idea of Tuk tuks!
We just got back from a RC cruise to Ensenda. Very nice!
Agree, cruised to Ensenada end of Feb 2024, last there pre-Covid. It definitely looked and felt cleaner from past visits, and we cruised there yearly. We went on Carnival Radiance, although renovated we were disappointed in the layout and she was already looking rundown. It was definitely a booze cruise, crowded and lots of children on board and majority lacked discipline.
The spa treatments were impeccable . Buffet was disappointing, so we did specialty dining and enjoyed the little pizza spot. Hubby tried Guy’s burgers and did not like, he was very disappointed. The staff on board always amazing. We took a bus tour to Rosarita for a fantastic lobster lunch and a short shopping trip. We always do this tour and never tire of it, this tour is offered thru Carnival. I must add that the Casino was great and witnessed many hand pays. We had a balcony room which was great and our room steward was fantastic. We have cruised carnival for over 20 years, but in the future we are going to book the newer ships.
I have been to Ensenada too many times to count and never knew about the Tuk Tuk's. I am booking for my November cruise.
You are so right about the music being too loud. Thanks for the review.
Appreciate you being honest about the crowd on this cruise . Others seem to give Carnival a pass
It's been 20+ years since I visited Ensenada. It was drizzling and cool but then it was in late November. We still had a fun day. Btw the mention of your Dad and his birth year of 1948 made me feel my age. I was born in 1949! Good grief. Oh well, enjoy the rest of your trip!
I love how you pushed your comfort zone and tried all the salsas. I would choose the hottest. But you are developing a more adventurous feel around food. Love to see that!
Great video. I was worried as I watched another video from here and they had a terrible time on their excursion going to the blow hole. I think staying in town like this and enjoying the town is way better. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this with me. I just loved it.
Looks to be a amazing fun time for a food person
I’m cruising on the Firenze in early August. I’m booking the shore excursion thx to you. 😊
Thank you Matthew.
Definitely a good video
You are very engaging. I like your vlog.
Thanks for bringing me with on the excursion! It was also my first time in Ensenada and the tuk tuk tour was amazing and was a nice way to see the city. I will add that the birria tacos were delicious and a lot more moist than what you had. However, the street market was even better and one could eat to their hearts content there for less than $20!
Thanks for coming along Nick! It was such a fun day!
Glad you had friends to keep you company. Some of them I recognize 🤣
Nice to see different excursion options from you and others on that sailing. Thanks
OH LOVE the design on the Margarita glass, SO pretty.
NICE local magnet, that's awesome. Much prefer "local" art over "manufactured"
BEAUTIFUL church, LOVE the old styles.
lol Grew up eating crepes, Yes cheese can be in them, sweet/savory etc. LOVE them. Similar to Olga's which is a Greek influence so the "crepe" style is similar yet different but same idea. LOVED when they had the kielbasa and sauerkraut. Kind of "ruben" vibes. SO GOOD, my mom LOVED them.
Limoncello is a palette cleanser. The "biscuits/chips" are also. Food all looked yumm at Ill Viaggio (spelling probably wrong lol)
Oh free $25 bucks into $90 so you could look at it that you won 125 just on Carnival's dime. . . . My husband did that in Roulette. Walked out with $40 bucks so really $65
It's interesting to see the "Dear Future Husband" reviews, SO mixed "LOVED it" or "Not for me" Makes me want to the show.
I heard they are still "working" on the digital part. Plus with being the 5 day a HEAVY D/P guests that is always a BIG issue. It's sad to see some folks with an "entitled" attitude, gives the rest of us D/P cruisers a bad light. We are NOT all like that. Thanks for the series.
Nice journey 😊
Loved the video series, missed Jason! Could you share which Tuk Tuk tour you did specifically, this looks like it would be perfect for us. Thanks!
There is a link to the tour company in the pinned comment and the video description.
I'm with you on the music! Get off my lawn!! LOL! ;)
I agree about the music being too loud. Also the difference between shorter and longer cruises. I much prefer the longer cruises.
We were on the Firenze last week and our embarkation and disembarkation was smooth. But I do agree with you on the volume in the lido deck. The roof was closed on our cruise and it was so loud. Also it seems a lot more cramped compared to the open lido decks of other Vista Class ships like the Panorama. I loved the Sea Day Brunch. I just wish it didn't close at noon. Our wait staff in the main dinning room was outstanding. I guess I would prefer going on the Panorama...not only because of the ship, but because of the ports that it goes to: Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan. These ports are nicer and the weather is warmer down there.
You're Correct every place I have ever been to DJ's are too loud. I don't care for it but DJ people do. I'll pass. Appreciate your feedback. Great content. A longer cruise would be the best way to go.
I disembarked the Carnival Miracle in Long Beach in March 2024 and it was the smoothest disembarkation I have ever had, we were lucky.
I disembark in Long Beach from the Panorama in January and it was pretty smooth too.
You had a better tour than Tony (La Lido Loca) had. Margarita looked yummy. Looked like lots of cool shopping opportunities. Love churros. They look like churros I got in Los Algodones Mexico. Love the seal(s).
I loved the video! I am also amazed every week at how fast your hair grows! It has gotten so long. How long has it been since you had to cut it all off? I've been letting mine grow, it's not growing nearly as fast as yours. 😊
It will be two years the first week in July. It is growing back nicely 😃
Your debarkation sounds like my experience embarking and debarking NCL in Manhattan.
I thought a 5 day was a longer cruise, only bc I’ve done a lot of 3 days. Now I’m nervous about disembarking bc I have an early flight.
Did you know the bar where the margaritas was invented what canoes bar during the pro oblition
Carnival has a certain demographic that I wish would turn down the music in general life; so I’m not surprised the volume is an issue fleet wide. Carnival tries to stay cheap and runs sales often; cheap fares being cheap people 🤷🏽♀️
Can you elaborate on the new digital debarkation process?
We've noticed your videos seem to have A LOT of commercials these days. We slowed down on how many videos we watch because of this.
You choose a time to disembark so there is supposed to be a staggered process so it doesn’t get congested… but it didn’t work very well.
We do not control the commercials, UA-cam does. We upload a video and they add the ads. Sorry if there are too many.
The tour looks like fun. Was it booked through the cruise line?
No, there is a link in the pinned comment and video description to the tour company 👍
Interesting. We dis-embarked Icon with our bags in literally 10 minutes.
Yeah, the Port of Miami has it down!!
They all say that the margarita was invented at their restaurant hahaha😂.
I'd like to try the Firenze soon. What room number were you in?
Not on Carnival, but on my last NCL ( Prima ) - music too loud, disembarkation a mess. The group in front of me should have been 4 groups behind me
GO TO THE REGAN PRESIDENTIAL MUSEUM WHILE YOUR IN SOUTHERN CA
get back to rving.
Sorry none of your food looked good except Margarita. Next time in Ensenada go to El Charro. A gourmet meal with chocolate chicken mole, a chicken with cream sauce, fried chicken tacos, fresh guacamole. Fresh tortillas. See Bill and Lisa video. I dream about this meal even from video.
Dinner for 4 75.00. With drinks.
Enjoy your personality and video.
The food really looks awful and not sanitary. Mexico just is not my cup of tea.
The food was really good! I always enjoy trying local foods.
