Fun Fact: the city they are flying over at 4:39 is Ventura, CA. The lake in the background is Lake Casitas. I live in this area. I see these airliners everyday. I enjoy your videos. Thanks.
I just have to say, this is instantly my favorite flying video I've ever seen. Though I live in Bakersfield now, I am a Los Angelean, a native born and raised there, and I know every inch of Los Angeles and it's surrounding areas. It's so amazing to join up with the California coast, then fly down along the coastal range and then over west L.A. like this airplane did. Just such an amazing video! I just discovered it two nights ago, and I've already watched it three times! The clarity is nuts too!
Great upload, I've made this flight numerous of times in my lifetime since childhood as I was born on Kauai and moved to the mainland during my early teens. Love sitting back and watching these videos, for various sentimental reasons.
Jokingly - loved your fingernails showing in the window before the takeoff. (I know - it was someone sitting behind you). Seriously - that tour of LAX from the landing on 24R to the arrival at your gate was fantastic.

Great video again! You are one of very few UA-camrs that actually films the entire flight. This is really cool. You can definitely notice turbulence around 2:19:41.
@@sla31 I love the view you had, but I got a free ticket and had a limited choice in seats so I took 22E. Probably won't have much of a view due to it being an exit row but it was one of the few marked green on Seat Guru so I'll take the legroom I guess lol

Woah I have not seen such a immediate bank turn in my life, the fact that I’ve flew on a lot of planes over my life time makes it odd that this never happened to me
Beautiful takeoff, that 753 has a lot of thrust. What happened with the food and beverages? That's all you received for the flight? I hope they offered snacks for purchase. Any soft drinks? They have really screwed the Hawaii flights and even before Covid. This is 2500 miles, not some 45 minute flight. It was so nice years ago. Great video, thanks.
They had snack boxes for purchase. I did not buy any though. As far as I’m aware, Hawaiian is the only airline that offers a hot meal in economy, on the Los Angeles route. Hawaiian, of course, offers a hot meal on all of their flights.
I didn't, but I understand why some people do get nervous. I fly a lot, and I've been through some pretty hairy situations. So, normal run of the mill turbulence doesn't really phase me. I hope my videos are able to help ease your anxiety towards turbulence my friend.
Can we have this pilots name please? I watch flights to get over my fear of flying. I hate to fly so much just watching fights like this give me bad anxiety but, I must say, this guy's landing put the "P" in perfect! Smoothest landing I have ever seen or watched. Big Kudos! Of course I would still be passed out on Xanax and Valium anyway but, Kudos!
It’s just me my friend. I run everything on this channel by myself from planning, traveling, filming, editing, uploading, etc. There is no group of people funneling footage to me. It’s quite the undertaking, so know that I mean it, when I say thank you very much for watching!
I film at 60fps. I have for a long time. I edit at 60fps, and I render and upload in 60fps. I've been trying to figure out why YT doesn't show it that way once it's uploaded for a long time, and no one can seem to figure out why it doesn't show 4K 60fps here. But it is filmed at 60fps.
I travel with two 512 GB iPhone 12 Pro's, as well as my laptop with a 1 TB SSD and an additional 2 TB on an external drive. 4K 60fps does take up a ton of room, as you're definitely aware, but it's not a storage issue.
We were actually running a bit behind. And I think the crew was trying to make some of that time up. One flight attendant was about 40 minutes late getting to the gate, and a lot of people had tight connections in Los Angeles.
Nope. In fact, United uses both the 787, 757-200 and 300, as well as the 737-700, 800, and 900 on some Hawaii routes. That’s right. Even the little 737-700 for SNA-HNL and back.
Well, it was a full fight, and loaded with probably 8 hours worth of fuel. So, it was probably pretty heavy even for 757 standards. Thanks for watching my friend!

Haha. Well, I appreciate the offer, but I don’t even make enough money off of this channel to pay myself, let alone employees. I’m a one man show here, and I pay for all the flights you see out of my own pocket, in addition to them being taken on my free time. If it wasn’t for my regular full-time job, I wouldn’t be able to afford to keep this channel running. That’s despite the money I bring in from ads. So, this channel being a regular full-time job for me alone is still quite a ways off. Maybe some day! I don’t plan to quit anytime soon.
Wow! I thought this WAS your full time job. What do you do for a full time job? You must travel alot for it. My Dad was a RFA for Melville corp back in the 1970s-1990s until they went out of business. He flew every week, sometimes twice. He traveled all around the country and flew on various aircraft such as yourself. Either way, cool job you must have but it must be hard if you have a family. My Dads only 1 regret, the money and job was good, but he missed out on alot of what we did as a family while he was "on the road". Cheers.
What you are seeing here is the engines trust reversal system being activated. Inside the engine, a series of panels open up, blocking the thrust from exiting the rear of the engine. At the same time, the engine slides apart and the thrust from the engine is redirected out the side to help slow the aircraft down. Of course, this process is done in combination with the spoilers that rise on top of the wings, and conventional brakes on the wheels. So, aircraft have three different ways to help them decelerate once they are on the ground. Conventional friction breaks, spoilers that work with air resistance, and the reverse thrust system that literally pushes air in the opposite direction.
Agreed. I've always wondered why they don't do those announcements and safety briefing before pushback and engine start. It would also be better for the crew as they should be seated when the plane is taxiing.
For some reason I don’t know why but watching long airplane videos helps me fall asleep Idk why it does but it does
Same here, i actually watching this over Stargate SG-1, and literally losing my hold on my head. That RB engine… so soothing, my mind is like, what?
